  1. Excellent old work. Had a really interesting substitute teacher once in about 4th/5th grade who read that to us. I believe she was responsible for getting me into sifi.

    My taurus PT1911

Great choices all the way around. Especially like the ct grip plans. I've got them on several and really love them.

    whoohoo...!

Try a glock 30; that will change your mind about the compacts. It's one of the best shooting short-barrel, polymer pistols I've ever had.
  4. My 2 cents worth---Xd45 Tactical. "Nuff said.
  5. Sleep...spider solitare...read some Tom Kratman/Caliphate. Love the slide graphic, btw.
  6. To quote Bill, the Cat... "Ppphfffttt"
  7. Actually, I think i like it.
  8. Congratulations. And a Happy Fathers Day to you. I've toyed with the idea of a PPk occasionally, but never jumped in. Maybe someday.

    GUN PORN!!!!

With all those glocks, you don't need the colt..just give it to me and she'll be well fed and cared for. BTW...nice groupings. And really like the Tanto.
  10. My two cents worth, for what it's worth. There are many post-apocolyptic series available. Many are pure trash, but some are worth reading. The Ashes Series by William J. Johnstone has been around for quite a while. Probably over 10 years. Pretty good reading until the 30th or so book, then gets so repetative and formulaic that youjust want to kill off everyone in the books. Even Johnstone admitted toward the end that he'd tired of writing them. John Ringo is one of the newest hottest military sf writers around today. Writes very well and is able to pull together a myriad of characters and subplots to maintain a great storyline. His Polseen books concern an alien race invading earth, but is pulled off well. About 10 of them out now. Another, older series you might like is The Survivalist. A series by Jerry Ahern. Like the Ashes series, it is a true TEOTWAWKI storyline--world devestation by war and plagues. A side note for us gun nuts, Ahern's central character used Deutonics 45's and Ahern gave up writing and bought the company. I believe it is still in operation today. All these books can probably be found in used book stores and in some cases quite cheaply. Especially the older ones. Or check E-bay. I have seen whole series sold for basically just shipping costs. I would offer my to you, but unfortunately they were lost in the Great Nashville Flood of '10. Seriously, I lost about three thousand books and paperbacks dating back to the early seventies. Yes I know, that's stupid; but I've never been able to get rid of a book if I liked it. Anyway, there are losts of books out there on this topic. Most are purely for entertainment purposes, but can have some redeeming value by giving you a bit of knowledge about survival skills and tactics. The trick is discerning the truth amongst the fiction.
  11. As with most political administrations, this one is just desperately trying to appear that it is in control of the situation; when in reality they have absloutely now idea what to do, where to start, or who to ask for help. When you decline the offer of help from those in the business of cleaning up oil, you clearly show that you have your head up your rear and don't have a clue. So you do the nest best thing--blame everyone you can, make a lot of noise and try to bluff and bluster your way out. Throw out so much BS that you take the attention off the fact that you're out of your depth.
  12. That's scary. I hope it doesn't get stuck like that.
  13. Is it just me, or would you really like to see the obnoxious cat just pounded into sand by the dog?

    9mm revolver

I have one of the S&W 547's. Paid 200 for it probably six years ago. Not as nice as the Gun Broker ad, but in real nice shape. I shoot it fairly often and it gets a few odd looks. It definitely has a different sound and is rather a handful with a good 9mm load, Never had any ejection problems with it. Its just a little harder to clean than some other revolvers. Maybe I just used lower quality ammo, but it does seem to get very dirty quickly. Personally, I like the gun and have no desire to part with it. Perhaps it's just me but I rather like the format and see nothing wrong with revolvers chambered for other calibers, novelty or not. I also have a 625 Mountain Gun in 45 acp and like it too. So what's the big difference? Just another autoloader cartridge in a wheel gun.
  15. Glad to hear good things from shooters of this rifle. Just bought one tonight (Thanks Ghooge) and I'm looking forward to taking it out for a session.
  16. Glad to hear a good report on this pistol. Like others, I have considered one as a pocket backup. It may be time to retire my keltec P32.
  17. Cost be damned. Round everyone in that "gimme" group up and deport them immediately. "You owe us, America" ??!! Send the lot of 'em to some disease-infested, third-world, dictator-run, slimepit and let'em rot.
  18. Great looking finished gun. Who did the finish for you?
  19. Well, it makes the top 10 anyway.
  20. Sorry, tagged wrong post. I believe cheez made that comment.
  21. Stars and Stripes do not help a HiPoint. Still one of the ugliest guns ever produced. But not a total pos imo. I owned one for a while and it shot pretty good and was very accurate. Just big, clunky and UGLY.
  22. And that's a bad thing???
