  1. ABS is controversial in some circles. A lot of new machines have the option to turn off rear ABS when offroad, but leave front ABS on. I personally think unless you have a lot of experience, having front ABS is a benefit, especially on the main roads. I don't think a 300 is too much for a new rider, you just need to give yourself some time before going balls out. I also think a 250 is fine for most in this class. As to a second rider, I suppose in an emergency you could do it, but you wouldn't want to do it on a regular basis. I have been looking for a while and my biggest issue is finding one that doesn't look like it has been beat to crap if used. I think I have decided on the KLX simply due to the adjustable shocks since I am a bigger guy. Now to decide what I want to spend. I really like this one, but he is a bit high. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/634724584284864
  2. I think he is referring to a video he posted before about this and it was a motorcycle. Basically reiterating his view that riding a motorcycle is dumb. Fine, don't ride one.
  3. And your point? “Motorcycle bad!” Don’t buy one. We all know they can be dangerous.
  4. This is simply a classic example of "it's not what you say, it's how you say it". Usually when you start a conversation with "Hey, Dumbass" it doesn't go so well. My real consternation about this whole thing is I have a hard time not starting most conversations today without "Hey Dumbass".
  5. I motorcycle like I golf. Over 50 degrees on the low side
  6. I turned mine last fall so the stalks and things could decompose. I ordered a new tractor in November. I may not have a garden at all at the rate things are being produced. I'm not man enough to till mine with a walk behind. I am thinking of setting up a raise bed greenhouse to start a few things though. My buddies dad created a bed the size of a screen door and place the screen door on top. Just open it to work and close it for warmth. Open the screen for nice days Thought it was an easy solution without having to build a big greenhouse.
  7. If you are referring to reCaptcha, there are other options. hCaptcha is an option that does not save personal info when you have to validate against robots. Whether or not a company uses them is a different matter, but there are options out there and gaining traction every day.
  8. This was exactly how I ended up with my Tiger 900 GT Pro. If I did more offroad, I would have got the Rally Pro version. I put Trailmax Mission tires on it in place of the factor road based tires and it has been a really nice all around bike. Granted, I have only had it 6 months, but so far so good.
  9. There was one YouTube review on it and the title for the video is, “it does nothing well, but you need one”. I just love the fat tires.
  10. Agree with the above. With everything being high right now, I would probably spend the 4k and if you don’t like it, you will have a much larger market to sell and probably wouldn’t lose much if anything.
  11. There is a big part of me that wants to buy a TW200 to play with on the farm and trailer for some offroad. I consider it the old, fat guy dual sport
  12. Glad to hear it. We may have met. I shoot unlimited, but have only made it to a few matches there so far. Will try to make the March match.
  13. KLX’s are good bikes. I would also be looking at a Honda CRF. There are a lot of good reviews and comparisons out there on them.
  14. These are Benchrest matches for those that may not be aware. Protongunner, do you shoot them?
  15. Adventure Rider as peejman mentioned is pretty well the go to for a lot of this. What you are referring to is categorized as a dual sport bike. Basically a dirt bike with headlight, mirrors, and turn signals to make it legal. What I would really like to do is what they call a BDR ride which is a Backcountry Discovery Route. https://ridebdr.com/. Some are more technical than others, but I think it would be a lot of fun with the right group. It's one reason I bought the bike I did. Comfortable enough for a long ride, light enough for decent off road use.
  16. Yeah, that's the problem. I think for you and I it would be something like meeting in the Lebanon area and go from there. Or a couple of groups from different areas that meet in the middle for lunch.
  17. I looked at the 850GS and the Africa Twin before deciding to buy the Tiger 900. Mainly came down to weight. I wanted something I could take on light offroad and if needed lift myself. The other two are noticeable heavier. I didn't ride the Pan America, but it does have good reviews for the most part. I probably still wouldn't have went with it due to weight.
  18. Nice, we did a couple of TGO groups rides in the past. I would certainly be open to it when the weather warms up a bit.
  19. That's the underlying problem. It was changed for political purposes, not science reasons.
  20. Going to offer the rifle alone at $1200. I have a buddy who will take the other items if someone just wants the gun. Other items won't be sold separately.
