I love the flat grind of many of the Spyderco blades. I recently bought a Tenacious, a Resilience, and a Grasshopper (to have as a "gentleman's" knife). Every single one of them were razor sharp right out of the box. I also really like the simplicity of the G10 scales.

IMO the 442/642 J frame is the ultimate pocket gun. I carry mine in my pocket in the summer and on my ankle in colder months in a Desantis Apache rig charged up with +P.

My suggestion is to start out with the best you can afford. Also look at the Bersa 9's, .40's, and .45's. They can be found in the $300 - $350 range.

No one's disputing that. But the very fact that the management had declined to post seems to indicate that they don't have a problem with someone legally carrying a firearm. Sounds to me that the security guard took it upon himself to ban something that he might not have had the authority to. Would I have complied? Yes. But as soon as my business was finished, I would have contacted management and gotten clarification.

I've had one for a couple of years. Never had a problem with it. Great to throw in the truck. Shoot the heck out of it!!

Have you considered what happens when you are under the stress of a real life SD scenario, and you lose your fine motor skills? I know I won't be as accurate as when I am shooting at paper targets.

I don't have either, but if I had the choice I would choose the G23. It's a compact, so it's easier to conceal, and you can convert it to 9mm or .357 SIG, so it's like having three in one!
