  1. Non-professional opinion gathered from having friends in law enforcement and being in an MP BDE which also has lawyers. I believe, whatever you do to end the threat is fine as long as it can't be construed that you instigated or manipulated said event. I worried about this myself until a friend pointed out that if anything, your training would have helped you prevent the situation from escalating out of control and that you did what you were forced to do. The biggest thing besides the gathered evidence is what you "say". Don't let emotions wrongfully paint you.
  2. Bought the last light kit like yours at the TSC in Triune, gonna order another for the boat trailer on-line. So far I have all the hardware and will start on it tomorrow. I hate going to that store - always end up spending way more than I wanted.
  3. Did you get the tie down brackets at TSC? You sir just motivated me to do some much needed TLC on my trailer. Haven't really done much with it since everyone else (friends - family) use it the most.
  4. I can't imagine the amount of $ you spent on ammo to get that kind of muscle memory - heart rate went up watching your video.
  5. Awesome advice fellas, I'll be using the tips when I try to get my bass boat running. That sucker has 4 batteries.
  6. When I was single I would have agreed with you 100%, now that I have kids I want laws that help protect my kids from the others who do not have the parental guidance or too immature to do right for themselves. Life's a balance......
  7. I like it, keeps kids from having too many friends to distract them. My daughters 16 and I told her she was not allowed to give any friends rides. Depending on the situation, I'll show up and drive her and her friends as needed. I work third shift - I know not everyone can do it. I believe friends and cell phones are the biggest dangers new drivers have from talking to my friends and people from my unit who are police officers and firmen.
  8. Now I see the forest - thanks.
  9. If my grandson lived with me, then yes, if it so happens that an American Pit-Bull Terrier is what I decide upon that is what I will get him. One of the reason there are so many dogs in pounds is people "gift" animals without looking at the long term. Gift or punishment, depends wether the actual caretakers keep the dog. I don't think I've read anywhere that responsible dominant breed owners don't understand the responsibility of owning these dogs. I've had several types of dogs, a few rescued from pounds, some from friends who were at their wits end concerning their newest acquisition. Right now a dog must be able to do 12 mile trails or less, not shed so much and jog 2 to 4 miles with the family. When I get older I'll probably settle for the little dogs my in-laws have that I doggy-sit often. I would never let them doggy sit my buddy because I don't think they are responsible enough. Personally the two legged animals are what I really fear to have around my grandson. (Don't have any yet - hopefully not till my oldest finishes college or tech school.)
  10. Boo used to belong to my sister, long story short, she and her boyfriend at the time had three dogs, they broke up and he left all three with here even though he owned 2 of them. I flew Boo out here from California and now my sister has the two that she can manage. Except for the dry skin and allergies he dealt with the first few months he lived here, he loves TN and all the outdoors.
  11. Nice, I read up on The Standard and looks like I'll have a new place to check out.
  12. 1. Peg Leg Porkers for bbq 2. The Pharmacy for burgers 3. Kien Giang for Vietnamese food 4. Thai Phooket - never had a bad meal, never been great 5. Loveless Cafe and Monell's for southern food Walk around second and Broadway, many beautiful sights.
  13. Every dog I've had so far has been trim and healthy except this last one. My dogs have seen almost every waterfall or swimming hole with-in 2hrs of Nashville and countless hiking trails, but the family has been so busy that "Boo" is gaining weight and on route to gaining weight. Wife loves how happy and content your baby looks. For the OP, kudos on starting this thread up. Just got off work and this is how I want to spend my minutes before bedding down.
  14. "If pit-bulls cannot be gassed into extinction" Hopefully I don't come off as a jerk, but I've had several dogs and the one that currently has my families heart is an American Pitt-Bull Terrier. Just worked out that way, they were once beloved and like other dominant dogs, were war heroes. People played god and created them, I'd be wary about playing god deciding to eliminate them......
  15. Also provided me with information and help me set up as to what it would take to get what I want, freely shares educated information.
  16. I saw that but I'm also looking for a SS that I can scope, more for confidence if I take a shot hunting. I'll check that website out rockman6.
  17. I'm preferring the SBH because of the support if anything happens and that's the one I've handled the most. Looks like I'll have more time to research since I got the quote on the aluminum dance and plantation shutters.
  18. Those are great looking guns. I'll check out the T/C Contender just so I can get the feel and see if it might call to me better than the SBH. I've handled some at stores, but I know it won't be obvious to me what I "want" till I've had it while so thanks for giving insight on how/why you choose what you have.
  19. I've read, gotten advice from members here and also just talked to people I've met who like revolvers. I'm looking at all the different barrel lengths the Ruger BH comes in and was wondering why there is a 3.5 to 10.5 inch - even found a stated 13.5inch for sale. Much like the 7mm rem/mag I bought in case I ever pull an elk hunt permit, this handgun will pretty much have few uses. 1. If an opportunity comes up for hog/bear hunting, I think this would work as primary or sidearm if I have a rifle. 2. Maybe deer, but since I hunt the local WMA, I'm pretty much stuck with a muzzleloader. I plan on putting a scope on it and want to be competent on the handgun before the opportunity rises. Putting this question out there to get insight on things I may have missed and learn from y'all's real world experience. I've gotten to the point that I hopefully buy once and have my tool readily available. My only experience with revolvers are the couple of .38 I use with my HCP so any insight will be appreciated.
  20. ^^^ awesome guns, that SBH is beautiful.
  21. I too have been keeping my eyes open for a good deal on a good hunting wheel gun. Kudos to you guys that shoot without a scope, I can wait till I find one and get some range time.
