  1. UPDATE (Updated information is in bold) The full-blown 3 Distillery Tour is postponed until late April or early May. I've gotten some really great ideas from several folks so, hopefully, the spring version will be bigger and better. Thanks for stopping by and keep your eyes open for the springtime announcement. Date: Saturday, November 6 Depart from Manchester at 9:00 (location TBD) Stop 1: George Dickel's - I have contacted their tour office and they will be ready. We'll be divided into two groups. Stop 2: Jack Daniel's - On their calendar. We'll be divided into two groups. Stop 3: Prichard's - I have talked to them and they do tours. We'll be divided into two groups. Stop 4? Hero-Gear - I've talked to Joe and he's agreeable to staying open a little longer that Saturday, if necessary, so we can stop by. I've decided not to arrange the tastings but I'm working on an extra surprise in it's place. Our lunch stop will be Marvin's Family Restaurant in Fayetteville. It's an all-you-can-eat buffet (can anyone say fried chicken). I talked to the bus company again today and we're good there. Things seem to be falling into place. We just need a few more folks to show interest (I have 20 right now). I really need to know if anyone else is interested. This trip is six weeks away and the bus is not even half full. Original Post: I've had an idea rattling around in my head for a while and I think I'm ready to try to pull it together. My idea is to work up a three distillery tour (George Dickel, Jack Daniels and Prichard's) with possibly a late lunch/early dinner stop somewhere along the way. We'll probably leave from the Tullahoma area and this will be a fall tour. The tours are free at George and Jack's and I'm not sure on Prichard's just yet. The only costs involved should be for transportation and the meal. My plan is Dutch treat on the meal and I've found a charter bus company that I'll be contacting to get a quote. Right now, it looks like the bus cost will be approximately $15 per person and there will be only 48 spots available. I also plan to contact each distillery to inquire about tastings or any other large group perks. I know you can do these tours on your own but why not enjoy a fall day-trip with like-minded individuals. Post if you're interested in participating and I'll post as details are firmed up.
  2. How about the name of your original post on it, "Now I'm Smokin'"?
  3. Good to see you upright and taking nourishment last Friday. I'll be by Friday (as usual) to check out the sale (got my eye on one of the SureFire's).
  4. Don't do beer much anymore but my latest favorite is: with a couple of ounces of this: It's called a Dark 'n Stormy.
  5. I'm not too fond of working around gas appliances either but, if you have an amp/ohm meter, here's another link with some things to try: Oven/Range Troubleshooting (second row from bottom of list)
  6. Here's a couple of links that might help: RANGE-STOVE-OVEN-ANSWERS-TO-COMMON-QUESTIONS How to Repair a Gas Range
  7. What brand/model stove is it? I had a similar experience a few years ago with our local electric co-op. A subcontractor of theirs changed out a power pole less than 100 yards from our house and we lost two TVs and a VCR the same day. The co-op refused to accept responsibility or even acknowledge that they caused a surge so we ended up paying for replacements out of our own pocket (the value of the damaged equipment was under our home owners deductible).
  8. I got it but I gotta ask: how much of the slippery jelly do you use since you're familiar with its cost?
  9. Guess I'm a disappointment too. I OPENLY CARRIED in a restaurant Saturday and nothing happened either. Our server did ask if I was a LEO toward the end of our meal and I told him no, just an HCP holder. Turns out he was an off-duty officer working part-time in the place and is dating the owner. He also made the comment that he wished more people would carry. I wasn't thrown to the ground, stripped searched or hauled away in shackles. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
  10. I watched all eight episodes. What's not to love about a post-apocalyptic, schizophrenic, sexually confused mutant/zombie? I don't know either.
  11. It's backwards.
  12. Looks like a Hercules Beetle. Hercules beetles are in the scarab beetle family (Scarabaeidae), which also includes Japanese Beetles, June Beetles, and Dung Beetles. The only Hercules beetle species in Kentucky is the Eastern Hercules Beetle, Dynastes tityus, which is the largest beetle in this part of the country. Adult Eastern Hercules Beetles typically have green, gray, or tan elytra mottled with black spots (rare individuals lack spots). Adult male beetles have 2 large horns: 1 on the head and 1 on the thorax. They also have 2 small horns located next to the large thorax horn. Females lack horns. 13. Welcome from southern Middle Tennessee. Been to Arizona a couple of times. The nephew was stationed in Sierra Vista for a few years.
  14. Howdy from down the road in Belvidere.
  15. So did I. Figured you were hit by ejected brass. Glad you're OK and can provide a good cautionary tale for us.
  16. Are you sure it didn't go in one ear and out the other?
  17. You might try looking the ethnic section of a local supermarket. I was looking for key lime juice the other day at my local Kroger and saw real sugar Coca-Cola in a glass bottle on the shelf. Be prepared to pay a premium price though. I think the Coke was $1.35 for a ten- or twelve-ounce bottle.
  18. The way people wear cell phones, pdas, Blackberries, etc. (sometimes more than one) makes me think of the Batman (the original, campy, Adam West one) Utility Belt I used to have in the mid-60s.
  19. See if you have RTV (Retro Television Network). It has all three shows. I have broadcast digital (no cable available and I don't want to pay for a dish).
  20. Check out FlyAway parking off-site (Murfreesboro Road). Follow the link and there's a self-parking coupon for 6.95 per day.
  21. I just started carrying a 1911 Commander Bobtail and I'm currently using a Galco S.S.S. side snap OWB holster and covering it with my shirt tail. I'm also looking at a Galco N3 IWB holster that looks to be a good choice for more concealment. My other carry piece is a Springfield Armory XDm 40 and I use a Crossbreed Supertuck with it. Conceals really well and is comfortable to boot. Crossbreed also makes a model for 1911s.
  22. Look for "My Posts" in the end of the tool bar (middle of the page under the slide). There's two options: "My Threads" or "My Posts".
  23. Is this what you're looking for? http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/search.php?searchid=6945 If so, I clicked the "All Types" box, used 'mega' as a keyword with "Search Titles Only" selected in the drop-down. Under additional options, I selected "A Year Ago" and "Newer" for the date range.
  24. Looks like you can search thread titles using the "Advanced Search" option (upper right, under the gun sight). The drop-down next to the Keyword input box has a "Search Titles Only" option.
