I'm curious about this as well. There are very very few apartment complexes inside the city that I would consider a safe area. 48 Hours filmed a lot in Memphis because Memphis has one of the highest solve rates in the country. Be it our "excellent detectives" or our incredibly stupid criminals, most of them get caught. However, your impressions are why the city government kicked them out. They felt that people were starting to look at Memphis negatively and told the show to get packing. As terrible as Memphis is to all the people that hate it from afar or have moved away, I've been here for 31 years and haven't had an issue. My dad lived his entire life here, dating back to 1955 and never had an issue. We lived in a poor part of town that many would consider a high crime area. And yet we were never robbed, broken into or murdered. As has been mentioned before, much of Memphis' violent crime is between people that know each other. Outside of work, I don't associate with criminals. And its working out swimmingly for me thus far.

300 BO pistol build. Suppressor?
Capbyrd replied to Wingshooter's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
That's exactly what it is. It's too keep idiots from aiming over the berm. They can still try but at least it will get deflected and someone else on range will notice. -
Couple of questions about creating a trust.
Capbyrd replied to jonnnyboy's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
1. You are talking about 41p. Don't expect a ruling on this until Q2 2015. No one can tell you with any certainty what is or is not going to happen here. Worst case scenario, you will have to supply background check info and fingerprint cards for everyone on your trust. 2. Yes. Your lawyer can explain all of this to you but the trust can be amended without too much hassle. 3. Yes. But you will have pay the 200 dollars again and submit another form 4 to make this happen. -
with e-file you pay with a card. Form 4 should be back up in Q1 2015 according to the ASA but I would expect Q2 at the earliest. Paper 4s are running about 5 months from signature (yours) to signature (ATF examiner) right now.

Had to look at it. Thats neat. Hadn't seen one. But I don't think I'd drop complete lower money on it...

Sorry, that was a bit more hostile than I would have liked.

I want to do an 80 and fully intend to after the new year. But it has nothing to do with saving money or hiding from the government. My 80 will likely get SBR'd so it will be registered anyways. I want to do it BECAUSE I CAN and because I think it will be fun. I enjoy tinkering. Even if it costs me more money. You don't like that answer? Good for you. I don't care. Its my money and my time and who the hell are you to question my life? If you can't justify it to yourself, then move on cause it ain't for you.

Side chargers don't need a forward assist since it has a charging handle connected to the bolt. Also, since the charging handle connects to the bolt, the handle is reciprocating, which I'm personally not a fan of. standard bolt carriers won't interchange.

But none of those linked are billet assemblies. Much less one piece assemblies. There is more money spent in machining the parts together so it becomes a high dollar part. Comparing it a PSA anything is wrong.

It uses a proprietary barrel nut wrench, which they also include with the upper. The price isn't that terrible. And this certainly isn't the first or only monolithic upper on the market. Mega had one out a while back but took it off the market. They recently released this one. And of course, there is the Vltor VIS which is a monolithic design.

Why Are 22 Suppressors So Expensive?

Get some zirconium. It lights easier and burns hotter/brighter. Not quite magnesium, but still really impressive. -

Titanium likes to catch fire. Be aware. Watch your chip piles. -
YHM All Stainless Steel Mite - 22 LR?

Oh, and silencershop has the Sparrow for 379. Doing math in my head, thats 130 more. Not 200. -
YHM All Stainless Steel Mite - 22 LR?
Capbyrd replied to lshel's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I didn't say anything about a Sparrow. Why didn't you read the rest of what I wrote? Silencerco Spectre II $295 http://www.silencershop.com/shop/swr-spectre-ii/ Silencerco Warlock II $221 http://www.silencershop.com/shop/swr-warlock-ii/ Again, those two are the same can but the warlock is aluminum and the spectre is stainless. AAC Pilot 2 $260 http://www.silencershop.com/shop/aac-pilot-2/ Spend a little more and get a better can. I soda blasted my mite last time I cleaned it. Since then, I've fired 10 shots through it. Its so gritty inside its already getting hard to open. Its a poor design that ISNT EASY TO TAKE APART. I'm a Mite owner that likes his Mite. I enjoy the can and think its plenty quiet enough for real world use. I don't care what the meters say. My ears are what I care about. But it gunks up so easily, it shouldn't be considered the best option ever. -

I have one. And for the price I paid, and my knowledge at the time, I'd do it again. However, I would steer you in another direction. What's the price you can get the SS version for? I've mostly seen the aluminum one around 200 so based on that, I'd encourage you to upgrade. A Silencer Warlock II or Spectre II. They are the same can but the Warlock is aluminum and the Spectre is SS. Better design and better suppression for not much more money. -
ASA posted some info today. I don't find ASA all that trustworthy right now, but this info is as good as any out right now so hopefully this will ease some fears for a little while. http://americansuppressorassociation.com/atf-update-41p-nfa-backlog-and-the-e-forms-system/

300 BO pistol build. Suppressor?

I'll back Tim up here. I'm going to be getting one next year. I'd do it now but I need to recoup from a couple other cans. -

Noveske 8.2 inch 300 blk. YHM Phantom 308 QD. It works. Really well. REALLY well. This is my sister shooting that setup with Gemtech 220 grain subs. The guy standing up is shooting a 5.56 and the guy at the end is shooting a 22lr. So if you pay attention, you can hear the difference of the three. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVeWNQYBNGM -
So what do you think of the College Football Playoff system?
Capbyrd replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
I think Kentucky was more of an issue of coming off a bye. I don't expect that to happen again. -
Integrally suppressed rifle
Capbyrd replied to Caster's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
If its just the barrel, it may be okay as long as it can withstand the pressure. But if you are using the action, its gets into legal territory that I don't understand.
