  1.   Have you tried 182g?
  2. That's nasty!   A M38 (the lightest Mosin) with a 180g soft point is downright wicked. You really don't want to shoot it more than 5X with a T-shirt on.   My son shoots every gun I have except the M38.
  3. Sounds like the 500 yard range is done.
  4. Nice gun! I love mine, they are crazy accurate for milsurp rifles.
  5. Just heard on the AP they found "chilling info" that he had 500 rounds of ammo.
  6.   Would not be shocked if it was tannerite................
  7. They have powder but charged me up the hind end for some Varget last week.
  8.   $100K would not even come close to buy enough land to have a 1,000 yard range.
  9. 100 and 300 are right next to each other?   When he showed me the range, I thought the 500 was going to be to the left (East if I recall) and was going to be a stand alone range.   Just sent him an EM to see for how long it will be closed.
  10.   As in no rifle at all or specific hours they will be closed??? I was headed there tomorrow to test some loads.
  11. Ouch!    That's why I try (try) and remember to clean my .22 can around 500 rounds. It gets hard to take apart.
  12.   Do you have a link?
  13. Got me thinking so I looked up some available .50 BMG rounds. Look at the 1st comment regarding surplus, Hornday and Barrett.   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/130446/barrett-firearms-ammunition-50-bmg-661-grain-m33-full-metal-jacket-steel-core-box-of-10   Not sure what you were grouping at 100 yards with PMC but unless you were around 1 MOA or less, would be a tough time hitting that 12 x 12" steel target at 1,000.
  14. Just a comment on PMC ammo. I've never shot a .50BMG, don't know anything about them in terms of BC and what's good or not. Just a comment on PMC.   I have a .308 that is pretty accurate out to 1,000 with good ammo (BHA, SWA, handloads etc). I shot it once at 800 yards with PMC ammo and it was like beating your head against a wall making corrections. At least in my case, the bullet and BC was not suited to shoot 800 yards with any reasonable accuracy.   Just a thought. If you are spending that kind of coin on a gun and round, might as well do it right and be accurate.
  15. Is that .338 or .50 cal PVC?
  16.   When he ask you what you plan to shoot at 1,000 (and he will) tell him you are shooting a Marlin 30/30 w/ a Barska scope!  :)   Are you taking the same gun you used at Oak Ridge?   On another note. I hope Tony will offer 1,000 yard days on the weekend. Right now it's on Thursday night. There is no way I would ever be able to make it on a Thursday night. I pretty much joined this place just for the 1,000 so I can test different loads. Hopefully they will open it up to Sat/Sun practice days.
  17.   MGSC tables are wood. I've shoot there often and never had a problem. Benches at Strategic look just the same.
  18. Joined last week. He did a nice job on the place. Will be nice when he gets the 500 yard done.
  19.   Ditto on that!
  20. M44's had the folding bayo. M38's did not have one.   Try Gunbroker for price.
  21. That sucks. I just got my 500 9mm a few weeks ago.
  22.   Ditto on that. I stopped using the RCBS case lube pad for that very reason. A light coating of Pam works great.
  23.   About 2:00 PM.
