MO Cop to open-carry chicks: "Show me your papers!"
Wyldk2 replied to daddyo's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I used mine to buy ammo last time i bought ammo. And used mine to vote last time I voted. If you are not operating a motor vehicle yet have your firearm on you,you still have to keep the permit with you. If you're in no vehicle and have no gun on you, I believe you don't have to carry ID with you everywhere. But it sure helps avoid trouble with some cops. -
After thinking it over, I changed my mind. I don't know what i would do in a situation like this. If I were the driver and had 200+bikers angry at me for an accident and no cops were to be found, If my family were with me( if i had a wife and kids) I would hope to be able to wait around for the authorities to show up, But sometimes the initial reaction is to get away from the danger of so many mad people at once. You think about getting your loved ones to safety and that is all that is on your mind at the time. So running, leaving the scene of an accident to save your wife or girlfriend and your kids would be worth the time being arrested and put into jail. Just knowing they are safe is worth my going to jail. Listen, In a perfect world we would not need the cops, or fear of being beaten to near death or death for just making a mistake. In a perfect world we would not feel the need to arm ourselves just because we can and have that right. But, Unfortunately we do not live ina perfect world. Now, a person or a small group of people( say half dozen) can be reasonable, but you have the numbers involved on one side in this and it's more "mob" mentality. People believe they are stronger in numbers and will go along if they don't know all the facts. Just to help a friend or friend of a friend in their group. If it were a group of bikers against a group of RR drivers, Who do you think would win? If it were one biker and he caused an accident and several vehicle drivers saw it, what do you think they would do? call the police? chase him down?.... What would happen if the tables or roles had been reversed?

If you've got the bigger vehicle, by all means do whatever you can to avoid this type of situation. Like analog_kid, I woulda swerved and hit as many as I could if i knew they were out for my blood. Aggressive driving would have come in handy during this. If there were only a cop or cops around during the incident. They probably woulda had to call the riot police in. So glad I live in the south, Drivers here are crazy but least they aren't out for blood. ( well, most of them aren't).

Agree^^^. Seems the gougers in Manchester have the inside scoop when .22 LR shipments come in. There is usually a line of people right as we unload the truck. And even if the ammo is in the back( toward the cab) of the truck, they expect it to be out and stamped ready to go. Sorry, we unloaders can only go so fast. We will get it out to the sporting goods guy( if one is scheduled) as soon as we can.

Sorry if i mis represented myself. I actually care about the customer. But sometimes it seems with the way some wal-marts( and some retail in general), are run, it seems like customer service is lacking. Those of us who work retail rely on the customers to buy the stuff our stores sell. Without the customers, we wouldn't be employed and the store would be out of business. Just mentioned what i have witnessed. Sometimes it isn't that the employees aren't willing to help, it may be that they are overworked, underpaid and there usually isn't enough experienced help available during a certian shift. Which in my mind is a part of customer service. The store managers answer to the district manager who then answers to the regional manager and so on. If the numbers don't add up, they start cutting hours, then people just to save themselves. If there isn't freight on the shelves, the customer cannot buy it. But sometimes even the "Giants" like wal-mart cannot control the flow of certian goods. I wish these gougers and people who have to have ammo right as it comes off the truck would wait a few days. Let those who would like to go shoot be given the chance to buy some ammo for once.

Actually, Wal-mart losing maybe a few customers isn't all that bad to them. There is always another person or people to fill their place. I work there, just for time being. Get paid whether or not people buy stuff there( but it helps). But i wish there was more competition with wal-mart. Most people shop there because its either the only place open 24 hours, or it's the only place with a great variety. I would love to see a Target or another competitor emerge to fight against the "evil giant". Maybe prices would go downif there were more competition. And maybe the ammo shelves wouldn't look as bare as they do in some places.

http://www.511tactical.com/All-Products/Shirts/Concealed-Carry/Holster-Shirt.html Kinda pricy I know ( $70-75) but comes in short sleeves and No sleeves. In white or black. I found it will conceal most types of handguns, but if you don't wear something over it, you're gonna be printing with any type of pistol you have. Offers left or right hand draw. Besides my carry gun, i found it is great for concealing your wallet, a cell phone or anything small that you don't want to lose or risk being pick-pocketed. Still, right now it's kinda hot to be wearing one of these, but still, I wore mine in church and nobody noticed anything out of the ordinary.

I was working late last night( tuesday night) and did happen to see a customer openly carrying a steel colored 1911 type of pistol. I wasn't able to get close enough to get a real good look at it. But didn't scare, care or worry about it. Almost funny though, considering the get-up the owner was wearing. Ha ha. I rarely see many people openly carrying their handguns around Tullahoma/Manchester though. Lately, it has only been 2 occurances late at night. But i guess there is less sheeple out after 10 p.m. at night.

WW, good things come to those who wait. But some of us are becoming addicted to your writings. Ihope it dosen't turn anyone here into a Zombie over waiting on your next chapter.

Just had my first rotation( after getting Firestone Destination tires earlier this summer) for My 98 Durango. So far the ride is quieter, and they are a 60,000 mile rated tire. I don't take my suv off road unless its some gravel road. But after having a blow out on the road, I needed some tires.

Main reason i try to stay out of wal-mart on friday thru sunday, Unless i have to work of course. Lots of crazy people there on the weekends.

For future refrence you might look into one of these: http://www.channellock.com/oil-filter-pvc.aspx I bought my dad one of these a couple years ago and it has come in handy. Also, next time I would try to do my own oil changes. If you want something done right, you usually have to do it yourself.

Not just the Iphone autocorrect. My Android i think is sometimes possessed by some evil entity. I hate autocorrect sometimes, wish there was a way to disable it( is there?).

We get .22 sometimes. But it usually dosen't last that long. Youhave to almost get it as soon as it is put onthe shelf. While I report what comes in sometimes, it may be a day or 2 before they get the stamps put on it all and out onthe shelves. But the larger calibers are staying onthe shelves a lot longer than before.

When I go to the range, I keep my brass( mostly .40/9mm and 5.56/.223) I haven't gotteninto reloading quite yet but saving brass for when I do ammounts to heavy duty freezer bags full of brass in a sunflower seed bucket. Shot sunday at Waldens and a friend was with me. He shot his K-98 mauser and M1-Garand. Saved all the brass we shot.

I would be in for one lower. Depending on the price, may go with an upper as well.

Costco pays their employees better than Sam's or wal-mart for that matter. (If there was a costco closer to home, I would have put in for that place). Though i have never been in a costco, I heard it is nicer and better quality of stuff. I just like sams because they are easier to find, memberships are cheaper( $35 a year) and Wal-mart employees get a discount there as well.

I know if i come across some ammo at a decent price i will pass along the savings to them. Not in it to make a buck on the backs of those who cannot find ammo. But those that do, be aware that there are those on here that don't like what you are doing and they will spread the word like a wildfire. I really could care less about those who feel the need to stand in line somewhere to buy ammo. I have not and will not stand in lines for ammo. I have better things to spend with my time. (usually 7 a.m. I'm sleeping after a night of unloading trucks anyways). Kudos to you david, I wish more people would tell it like it is and not just sugarcoat the truth. One of these days I want to get into reloading just simply to learn the process and it would beanother good thing to learn if and when TEOTWAWKI ever comes. I save my brass when I shoot( just for the time when I ever decide to get into reloading). I actually overheard a re-seller brag that he could get $60 for the ammo he would buy from Wal-mart for $20. He said the problem won't go away for the next 2 years. Unfortunately, he and those like him are part of the problem. The best solution to that problem is to not buy from them. I didn't feel as bad after snagging those 2 boxes of .22 after hearing that conversation. I did however pass along the savings to my neighbor ( who was in desperate need for some .22 for her HCP course). We, like dlm37015 should be helping our fellow gun enthusiasts instead of fleecing them. Never know when it might be your turn when you are in need.

Reading the comments after reading on that story, I am still amazed at some people. Having a HCP in the state of TN allows you to do either. If you choose to open or conceal, as long as you have a valid permit, should be your choice. I was at my cousin's wedding this past weekend and he and most of the groomsmen were openly carrying. I think it was more of pictures than anything else. As we were out in the country and no real need for a firearm( but nobody really knows). My dad asked me if i felt naked not having my gun on me( unbeknownst to him i had mine in the truck). No, i didn't feel naked, just left out. I have carried a few times openly, mostly late at night. Really prefer concealing, since it dosen't draw much attention. I'm sure I print( with the glock), but really have had no issue.

Something like those is what i've been looking for. Guess I'll have to keep looking for one soon. My cheapo uncle mike's holster is about to give out. Have a shirt holster but it's still to hot to wear that. Still like the look of the tan one. as smaller is better for concealment. Have you had any problems out of them yet?

I might have to re-think my principles on this. If they banned carry, I would still work there, not like it, but look even harder for another job. They tell me in the orientation that they do not allow weapons on premises( so I park off-premises). And what is defined as a "weapon"? My vehicle, could be used as a weapon, everyone who works there has a Knife on them( even those flimsy safety knives), etc.... If they banned carry, wal-mart would lose some business, but not enough to make a dent in their billion dollar empire. So they won't lose if they do decide to ban. If you ever hear a code brown( that is a firearm emergency in the stores). Have not heard one yet in my stores. More shoplifters and lost children than anything else.

About the only family I have that "gets it" is a few cousins and a close friend. My dad and brother, though family, have no idea and believe nothing is ever gonna happen. I however believe in being prepared, hopefully not for the worst, but be prepared for any type of situation which i might have to encounter. I leave from work late at night and am thinking in the back of my mind, something could happen at any time. Thing is, I probably will be bugging in, as the house is a fortress and I will have reinforcements.

I didn't forget, but some people have. When I go the backroads i never encounter as much stupidity as I do on the four lanes( or larger).
-
Ok, I was on my way to work ( in manchester) and i go down hwy 55( four lane/55mph road) ok. So i'm in the passing lane trying to pass one guy and all the while there is a lady in front of me going the same speed as the guy in the right ( slow) lane. I flash my lights as to pass and she freaks out( I saw a middle finger) and she eventually gets over in a turn lane and i go by. Nothing big, all i wanted was to get by her( she and the other guy were both going 50mph). And in turn she starts following me. I'm thinking to myself I'm just going to go to work as I want to get there early just in case. Have no time to go by the Manchester police station. Which is where i would have gone had it been a big burly guy. If any LE is reading this, I wishyou guys/gals could crack down on the "impeeding traffic" violators. Blocking the lanes and not allowing people to pass is another peeve of mine. All it takes is to speedup a little and pass the slower driver. No getting upset cause someone flashed you. Am I right?

So my list of malls one can shop ( and feel safe) is growing thin. I know Northgatemall( in Tullahoma) isn't posted. But it really isn't a mall, just a large shopping center. Wonder how many of us would boycott Wal-mart if it ever banned carry? I know I would, And I probably would quit working there out of spite( even though i need a job).
