  1. Anyone going Thursday night?
  2. I have been carrying my PPS9 for 7 months and have put 1500-2000 rounds thru it. I've had no FTEs or FTFs. ...knock on wood..... Most accruate 3" barrel i have shot. I love this gun. Every thing you said is spot on. The Kahrs are great guns and the keltec PF9 is a very servicable gun, but both are to light for me. The PPS is light, but has enough weight over the muzzle to shoot all day. I have used it in a SD class, shooting 450 rounds. I had no fatigue and the PPS ran flawlessly. With my Comp-Tac MTAC I can wear it all day and no one notices.
  3. +1 for what Mike said. Dry fire, reloading (unloaded mag and gun) and draw at home. You can do these in spare time without dragging everything to the range. drills, drills, drills. Include some drills with movement. use a timer. How do you know you are improving without a timer. find your weapon's POA/POI from a bench Take a class, so you are practicing the correct technic. Have someone practice with you. They can watch you and tell you what you are doing wrong or right.
  4. I have met KB4NS and many others here have as well, I know of no one having issues with him. I have have seen many posts and many deals on the classifieds, none of which has anyone had issue with him. I will take the man's word. I think i am going to stop reading this thread. The meet is over and the thread is off topic. lol. hopefully i can be at the next meet.
  5. you can alwasy get your point across without screaming or trying to make someone feel stupid.
  6. I can't blame you for being pissed. If no one was down range, then there is no reason for a cold line. I would have reported him to the club manager. That is not the norm. I have never seen any RO act like that. Just like any facility, there can be jerks/power junkies that make it thru the hiring process. Please don't hold it against all of the ROs at MSSA. Every RO i have dealt with since i signed up have been very helpful and polite. Cold line or not, if a RO treated my guest like that, the RO would have to explain his actions to the club manager. Sorry i missed the meet. I had some honey do's.

    S&W M&P

I've had my M&P 9 pro for about 6 weeks with about 500 rounds and no issues. I love it.
  8. MSSA RO's ride around on golf carts. It could have been any one of several RO's. I have been there dozens of times since i have sighned up with no issue. I have seen them bark orders to shooters that cross a cold line with people down range, for non flagged guns, etc. They are fairly strict with their safety rules. Sometimes they come across as short tempered. Not saying kb4ns broke rules.
  9. I was just checking for an update, but it seems that there is an issue with our meeting organizer. What gives? someone PM me what is going on. Are we still on for Saturday?
  10. There is a gun show at the agricenter that weekend. Anyone going? Anyone doing both the show and the call to arms?
  11. Those are both on my firepower wish list. I comepletely understand your point of view. It is high. My point is, give them a little credit. MSSA would love to have you come to any of the many matches, which are open to the public.
  12. I am sorry if i put words in your mouth. I see what you meant. It is a high initiation fee. I think it is high for another reason. I won't go into that here. It took me 6 months for me to save up for the initiation fee. I was against it until i visited with a friend. MSSA is so nice, i couldn't resist. The high fees do go back into the club. Well it is a private club. The higher fee may not be high to keep out common folk, but it does serve to keep the club membership smaller and pays for shelby county property tax on 200 acres, upkeep, plates, structures, utilities, etc. MSSA is very nice. They have spent a lot of money on the facilities. There is no conspiracy. They are not trying to offend or leave out anyone. Being that it is the only big range in the area. Can you imagine how crowded it would be if they had a much smaller fee? I would not shoot there if it were that crowded. I like that i can shoot without lines, not crowded in small lanes and can shoot any type of style i feel like that day. All without worrying about who is next to me, because of the background check and the high fee filters out the not so serious shooter. Back on topic. To Jack: i will try to swing by and visit.
  13. IMHO for carry I like hammerless snubbies. No snags. point. shoot. for range/target I like SA/DA I prefer hammered 4"-8" full lugged.
  14. Good stuff. It sounds very interesting. I will try to get out to see what the high power is all about. I am a member and i have started shooting some matches there. Every match has non-members. They are always welcomed and treated as any other shooter or watcher.
  15. It isn't high to keep out the common folk. by the way, anyone can shoot at the matches.
  16. MSSA is a great place for matches or group shoots, but for non-members it doesn't offer much for socializing. If you want to see what MSSA is like, participate in one of the IDPA, USPSA, Steel Challenge, 3-gun or other matches that are available. There is a steel challenge this saturday. by the way, nice sig Jack.
  17. I'll probably go the evening of the 28th.
  18. You can't go wrong with the Walther PPS 9. I've had mine 6-7 months with about 1500 rounds. It is clearly my favorite gun out of the 6 hand guns i own. Reliable, accurate, easy to break down, great trigger, thin 1", small, light but just heavy enough to shoot all day. My next favorite carry is my S&W 642. Others that i have shot but dont own. I liked both. The Kahr PM9 and the keltec PF9. I like them, but they were to light for my taste.
  19. For my EDC PPS 9mm. I try to shoot a mag or 2 of FMJ once or twice a month. I shoot SD loads once a month. Probably about 50 rounds per month. I clean every 4-6 weeks or when it is getting dusty.
  20. Way to go. I love archery deer hunting. It is easily my favorite hunting. I was hoping to have a new bow this year, but i have spent to much on guns. Next year i will be back hanging on a tree. It has been a little hot for to much hunting.
  21. I prefer IWB with both my S&W 642 and my PPS. The PPS is a bit heavy for PC, but I do PC the the 642 in a blackhawk IWB occasionally. The combo works out nicely. If i am just running around town doing errands, then i prefer PC. It makes it easy to stow if i have to run in a post office, bank, etc. I didn't think i would like PCing a revolver, but the 642 is smaller and lighter than i thought. If i were to PC regularly, i would get a LCP or some other small .380.

    Ar-15 Questions

Around that price the S&W M&P "optice ready" are a great. M4 CHART cheap sights, see primary arms http://www.primaryarms.com/category.sc?categoryId=5 What will you be doing with the AR; paper punching, varmint hunting, 3 gun, etc?
  23. I agree, I call BS on this. Something doesn't sound right. All of the news over the last 2 years about gun rights in TN, i would bet THP knows what the laws are. It is perfectly legal to carry unloaded guns in a vehicle in TN as long as the ammo is not in the same compartment.
  24. yep, someone just told me. I was wondering why no one was talking about it. lol. new date: Advanced Armament Corp. » It is OFFICIAL!! Silencer Shoot has a date June will be a little hot.
