Glad I didn't see that 716 too. Idve been sleeping on the couch for awhile.

It was a great event today, but I've been sitting in my same parking spot trying to leave for 45 min now. Somebody send a BBQ sandwich I'm getting hungry! And some sweet tea!

I'm really looking hard at one of these. Its between the sr762 and the g2 dpms. Just need to compare them side by side. Congrats in the purchase.

It looks like a canik to me. What is this gonna cost?

I do, i have an ar pistol, and I have a cmt tgo upper and lower set that is waiting to be built into something. I was kindve wanting to build a 10.5 inch .300 with that set, but I dont think I'll be hunting with a barrel that short. It would probably be the least expensive route though, as all I need is a barrel, handguard, trigger, and optic.

I've looked briefly at 6.8 but came to an unofficial conclusion that .308 would do the longish shot thing better. You know I've tossed it around and around and am leaning towards an ar10 style rifle. I guess 6.8 would keep the overall size of the gun smaller though. I need a money tree so I can just have one of each caliber. We are headed outside of San Antonio near Bracketville.

That's a good looking setup. Did it come with the end caps? I've been doing a little bit of reading up on lights and hogs, seems a lot of people have good luck with different color (green or red). As far as a gun in 458, I think it'd be awesome to have one. But I don't reload at the moment so I assume ammo would be pretty pricey. And most importantly I dont know how well it would perform on longer shots during our day hunts. I can only really justify buying one "do it all" rifle for this trip. But hey if you can convince me that 458 is the way to go, I'm all ears.

One night in Birmingham Al, what shouldn't I miss?

There's a great restaurant called Dram. As in a dram of whiskey. If you have time though during the day, the Barber Motorsports Museum is an absolute must see. Four floors of motorcycle and motorsports history. -
I'd like to see a pic of that light setup. I was never a fan of hanging stuff off of a rifle but this is actually a good reason to.

I'm planning a trip down to South Texas for a whitetail/ feral hog hunt this coming fall and am trying to get gear together now. I'm thinking something in .308, but am torn between a bolt gun or a semi auto. Anyone have any experience with hogs? I don't know if a quick second shot should be at the top of my priority list if I'm using the same gun during the day for whitetail. I've got an ar pistol for any that we trap, but the night hunts are what is getting me excited. Give some ideas as to what you've used or seen work well in the environment. And by the way I'm not wealthy so suppressors and NV setups are almost certainly out of the question.

Edleys is good, as is martins. I really enjoyed stone house q though in west Nashville. Don't know if they're still around.

Wife's birthday is Saturday... Restaurant suggestions?

The southern is excellent, the standard as well. never had a bad time at urban grub. Nashville has gotten some very good new restaurants recently. Husk is at the top of that list, silo, etch, Rolf and daughters, all good choices. -
I remember that build. Its pretty cool that someone here in Tenn bought it.

I've lived in franklin, Brentwood most of my life. We spent the last six years in Lennox village. Never had an issue there and it was a wonderful place for a family. That being said, it is about as far into town as I'd care up live. It quickly changes to an older more low income part of town. Were in nolensville now and absolutely love it.

Just to stir the pot, wasn't ruger having some issues with the 762 feeding properly? The SIG is a great gun, I love the op rod setup, but its heavy and the proprietary rail bothers me.
-
I was hit in the forehead with shrapnel there. Won't ever be back. (It used to be the only indoor range around)
-
It was threatening to get pretty rough around nolensville but we didn't have any damage. Coulda been worse. That's all we need right now is storm damage on a house we just bought.

I didn't mean to imply that the touch would be our only means of input. We would have a mouse to do repetitive tasks but the touchscreen for programs set up for it.

It just seems windows 8 was really set up for it. Who knows, we may tire of it but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Like I had said previously, it's really just going to be used in the bonus room for everyday tasks. Web browsing, maybe my son will do some gaming, my wife can get some work done (mostly spreadsheets). Mostly just media and light gaming. Of course that may all change as my son gets older, but that's also why I want to stay with a tower and an up to date processor. Think Springfield and not Wilson, Colt not Noveske, .308 and not .338, Corvette (c6 of course) and not Ferrari. Trying to avoid planned obsolescence, and get the most bang for my 5-600 bucks. I know the monitor will be about 300 so call it under a grand out the door. I think I have a good handle on what I'm going to get for that money, but just didn't know if there was any place other than the Best Box stores to buy a new computer. I didn't know so many people ordered from Tiger Direct, I was just a little leary of them since I haven't ever done business with them.

As far as laptops are concerned, we've decided to buy a small notebook computer for when we travel, but keep all of our data at the house. Besides, when spending a lot of time on spreadsheets I just find a full sized desktop monitor and keyboard more comfortable. We had a dell laptop for several years and after three hard drives crashing (totaling about $2000 in data recovery), we've given up using a laptop for everything. Better to diversify. All of our computers to date have been PCs and we have android phones. Although macs look good from a design and build quality standpoint, their inability to upgrade or sub out components just isn't appealing to me. Same thing with the newer all in one desktops.

As far as specifics, I'm thinking if I can get an i5 processor with 8gigs of ram and a terabyte or two HD (for under 600) I'll be pretty set for the next couple years. From what I've found, I should stay away from an and equivalent processor because the graphics are integrated on an amd and the touchscreen monitors need a pretty strong graphics card. I think I'm over thinking this.
