Gun shop offering lifetime warranty on Glocks
White Goodman replied to tercel89's topic in General Chat
And there is a good chance you will end up needing that... -
Brazil isn't doing a whole lot better, at least not from a crime standpoint.

I wish I could have stayed awake but 0520 comes too damn early. Great game!

Woman shoots as robbers flee.
White Goodman replied to suspiciousmind's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Guys, let's not assume that the media is correct. From first hand experience I can tell you they often ignore the facts. -
Well I like some of the features but it was definitely over hyped. I wash they had the MSRP listed. I didn't see it.

I haven't been to a show in years. I was thinking about attending one soon but it sounds like I'm not missing anything. I've found some decent deals at shows in the past but the crowds were always a bit much for me.

I don't mean to seem snarky but why does that matter? It wouldn't take more than 3-5 minutes to clean a place out. Cops would have had to be around the corner in order to catch these guys.

Flying to Florida and taking a handgun
White Goodman replied to jgradyc's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The policy has been changed and they no longer make you show them the gun is empty. The last few times the ticket agent didn't even look at the gun. She just asked if it was locked and unloaded. You'll be fine. It's an easy process. Just don't forget to declare it or you could get in trouble. -
That's awesome. Thanks for sharing the story and pictures with us.

Post the last firearm related thing you bought!
White Goodman replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
1000 rounds of 9mm for $225 delivered. It helps that one of my best friends is also my FFL. Also got a +1 shell extension for my old 870 police magnum. -
I have several for both my 19 and 17. All of them have worked great. I see no reason to use them for carry mags since I have so many factory ones. I do keep a loaded 17 rounder in my truck though.

That is a bit surprising honestly. Maybe the bartender is from here?

Funny story about that video that I've been meaning to post. The Lenoir City officer that snatched the gun out of that guys holster is the same one that jumped in the bed of that pickup truck and then shot the driver to death. He was later fired for an unrelated incident involving a taser.

I can honestly understand both sides of the argument here. I hate that a man lost his life over a little bit of weed but I also understand where the officers are coming from when they initiated contact. Chris, Blake, Elliot, I understand your argument and even agree with a lot of it but I feel your condemnation of the "state" is unfairly targeting cops who do not make the laws. If we expect the cops to pick and choose which laws to ignore and which to inforce I feel that is a slippery slope. I don't know whether or not this shooting was justified but it does seem like the victim made a series of really poor decisions which ultimately cost him his life. It's a horrible situation for everyone, especially the dead guy and his family. Let me ask this, lets pretend the cops just ignored this guy and went about their business and then 10 minutes later the guy gets out of his vehicle and kills his wife and kid in a domestic violence situation. What would have happened to those cops careers or freedom? I don't have all the answers but it seems this isn't a clear cut case of a cop just walking up and executing a guy for smoking a joint.

I have never heard of this. I do not believe it is illegal to carry at Disney or other parks.

You're hanging by your harness. NOW WHAT?
White Goodman replied to Randall53's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I have no information about downsafe but I thought I would share a recent story about the importance of using a harness. A week or so ago one of my wife's relatives fell out of a tree stand and was nearly killed. He's still at UT hospital where he has many broken bones including his back. He's got a 50/50 chance of ever walking again. Be safe out there guys. -
I'm just not understanding why you made this seem like such a big deal. I didn't realize we were all dying for another compact polymer pistol option.... As if the market wasn't already flooded. I don't think people will be lining up to buy this gun. Maybe if it were priced closer to $300 it would have some advantage over the 25 competing guns already available.

I'm a fan or Ruger but I don't understand what you mean by "Ruger did it"... What exactly did they do? I'm not seeing anything groundbreaking or unique here. How is this a big improvement from the SR9C?

It's actually not illegal to carry in the parks, it's only a violation of Disney/Universal rules. On the FL forum there have been several interesting stories about LEO's that were caught entering the park while armed. Some were given the option of securing their firearm with the LEO's working at Disney until they left(it was put in a locker). Other's reported that they were told to return their firearm to their vehicle. Either way, just keep in mind it's not illegal, even if you are not a cop. That being said, most folks are reporting metal detectors are now in use.

Where was this filmed?

My friends and I spent the first half cussing the Vols and the 2nd half praising them. I still think Dobbs is horrible though.

M&P 9mm fails miserably on reliability test
White Goodman replied to White Goodman's topic in Handguns
Ya I truly don't understand the small crowd of die hard M&P guys. I understand the desire to support an American made pistol/company but that does not outweigh all the negatives. If I have to buy a gun and then immediately swap out the trigger then I've made a bad choice. I'd much rather buy a PPQ or VP9. -
M&P 9mm fails miserably on reliability test
White Goodman replied to White Goodman's topic in Handguns
As you typed this I was rewatching the P320 test. I wouldn't say it did great. It failed before making it to the "gauntlet". It even failed during the initial break in without being subjected to any extremes. It certainly outperformed the M&P though, of which I have very little respect. I do like the p320 though. It feels good in the hand and I've heard the trigger is great. I also agree with your point about not going swimming with these guys. None of us operators here. To me, this just validates the overall durability and dependability of said weapons. If nothing else, it gives us a point of comparison when selecting a carry gun. -
If you are not aware, Military Arms Channel has recently started doing reliability tests with various handguns. Some guns have definitely done better than others and there have been a few surprises. Before I opened the video I had a feeling the M&P was going to do poorly. I was right. He said it was the first pistol to fail the water test. I'll continue to buy and carry Glocks. The 17 did much better in the test. The Walther PPQ also did very well. Fast forward to 2:46 for the first failure.
