I'm no expert either. From what I can tell, the 7.62 designation is on the strap around the wrist, which doesn't appear to be present on this gun. Seems odd they wouldn't mark the caliber on the barrel, but look like they don't. And yes, the "England" would be a pretty good hint, if I'd noticed that at first.

I worked in shipping and receiving, the stock room, and package pick-up at Sears all through high school and the first couple years of college. It was great experience (lots of good stories) and we sure worked hard for $5/hr. I've also got a kitchen full of Kenmore appliances, after having worked at maytag through the rest of college.

I would say increase your awareness. But that's pretty normal this time of year anyway. And on a side note.... I used to work with the guy that was stealing packages. Knowing him a bit, I can't say I'm completely surprised but I'm sad to see that. I hope he can get his life turned around.

I'll agree with Cap, they're not trying to hide anything, they're just doing what's necessary to get the box to its destination. I've gotten several packages that were either reboxed or had half a roll of UPS/fedex label tape holding them together. Corporate clients all have their own rates and policies for damages. We ship aircraft parts via FedEx worth hundreds of thousands of dollars routinely. Occasionally they get damaged and FedEx doesn't pay damages. It gets written off as "the cost of doing business".

Anytime I've ordered bulk quantities, that's exactly how it's been shipped. I'm also surprised at what Kahrman got. I'd guess that was a shipper repackage due to a wet box that the bottom fell out of at some point in its travels.
