1.   I talked to DD on Friday. The online builder is the method they're using to process current orders since it allows them to easily limit the order volume.  Don't think they're taking direct orders from dealers right now so they can more easily control the flow of incoming orders.
2. Good morning, TGO..   I'm in need of a new employment opportunity.     Looking for IT work in the greater Knoxville area (Clinton/Oak Ridge is even better, but Knox works).    Here's the quick informal skills overview for me:   Education: A.A.S. Programming, B.S. Computer Science, M.S. Information Systems Business Intelligence almost complete. Programming: PHP, VB.NET, RPG IV, C++, Java (although it has been a while) Database(s): MySQL, MS SQL T-SQL, SSAS, SSIS, some Oracle experience.. Administration: Linux server admin, Windows..whatever.   Been working in contact center environments in a variety of roles from CS to IT for 10 years.    Feel free to PM me if you have any leads. Appreciate it, as always!
3. Brian,    I've followed most of the stories  you've put together.  I know there will be aspects of this one that I won't like or agree with. There will also be counterpoints that I will like and agree with. I applaud you for attempting to cover stories from all angles and actually practice some fact-gathering from both sides of this issue.   I can at least read your stories and know I won't see anything regarding an assault-Glock-Revolvers or high-capacity "clips".  I appreciate your effort.    This is, without a doubt, a sensitive issue on both sides of the debate. Providing both viewpoints in an unbiased manner is about the best we can ask of a real journalist.
4. The Desantis Nemesis was about the best one for me when I had a pocketable pistol. Ultimately I found that pocket carry just wasn't for me.
5.
You guys should check this book out...   http://www.amazon.com/Why-We-Get-Fat-About/dp/0307474259     It's eye opening and might give you some encouragement.
Taubes is absolutely brilliant. I no longer have any symptoms of type 2 diabetes largely thanks to learning from his work along with Robb Wolf's paleo book. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
6. Noticed that profile views were disabled. It is my guess that these features are temporarily turned off in order to minimize the load on the server and keep things running during this busy period. Don't know for sure though. Just a guess on my part.
7. I tried to read the comments.. I stopped. The stupid was making my eyes bleed.
8. I recently posted a thread in the TGO Trading Post requesting to purchase a single brick of .22lr since, apparently, it has disappeared.  I was looking for a single brick so I could take my son shooting to break in his new Ruger SR22 and perhaps put some rounds down-range with his 10/22. What happened, you ask? I received not ONE, but TWO offers from fellow members to loan me a brick of 22 as long as I replaced it when supplies became available again.   Now, I've never met either of these members in person...only here on the forum.  What other group of people does stuff like that? I've been on the Internet for quite a while and participated in a number of forums.  This is the only group I know of where outright generosity and kindness are so apparent. I see it in other circumstances as well.  How about the threads where someone expresses a financial need for a worthy cause? TGO members step up and donate in large numbers just for the sake of helping others.  This has happened over and over again since I've been a member here.     In a time of great uncertainty in this country, it is great to know that there are people out there who are willing to step in and lend a hand when there's a need.   Thanks TGO!  :usa:
9.
I've owned a Mini 14 ....... it's harder to maintain, etc.
Having just bought a Mini 30, I'm curious about this one. How so? I can see having to go back to Ruger for parts being problematic, but are the Minis somehow high maintenance?
10. I picked up three 30rd AR mags at a local shop today. They were mil-surp mags.. I hope they work. $20 each was no bargain, but I bought em. These are from the Sports Shop in LaFollette. There were 7 more AR mags in the store when I left. Also bought the last Ruger 10/22 Butler Creek 25rd mag.
11. Timely post. I too was called a baby killer on a social media site because I mentioned my rifle. Just happened yesterday, actually. It was one of my old college classmates. One who just got accepted into law school.. ugh. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2

14.
i have a large order in for them i will not price goug
Mags? Did someone say mags?
15.
Great ! I will be up tonight anyway
Good luck! I was disappointed when the rifle ordering system wasn't available at midnight as noted on the site, but it came online sometime around 2. Hopefully it'll make an appearance tonight as well. 16.
That's a nice stick!  I was extremely impressed with DD's method for dealing with the current shortage, and equally tempted to buy something from them to show some support.  I'm thinking about two basic carbines that I can gift to my kids in a few years.
Thanks! That's my plan as well assuming we're still permitted to sell/transfer these evil black rifles when my son is old enough. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
17. What he said. :D I actually use FrogLube on all my firearms now. All of my carry guns are some variation of the 1911. I've yet to buy a 1911 with factory mags that feed as smoothly as Wilson Combat or other high quality mags. I use the Wilsons or Chip McCormick mags for carry. When I get a new 1911 I clean it, give it the FrogLube treatment, and take it to the range for a 200-300 round break in/practice session. The majority of the rounds I use for break in are usually my own handloads or FMJ factory ammo, but I always shoot at least one box of my desired hollow point ammo as well to validate that it will feed properly. If all goes well, the gun gets another cleaning and goes into the carry rotation.
18. They're taking enough orders every day to meet the quota they can get out the door to avoid having long lead times. As I understand it, that's about 100 rifles/day.  Ordering was supposed to open at midnight Eastern, but it didn't actually become available until around 2am.  Guess they got through that daily order allotment in the past two hours. Yikes. Figuring a $1,500 base price (minimum) * 100 rifles = $150K worth of rifles in two hours. Wow...    Lead time is approximately 10 days.
19. Based on another thread I discovered that DD is doing things the "right way" with the AR scare in full force.. Decided to use them to buy my second (but hopefully not last) black rifle. Here's what I ended up with: Lower: Mil-Spec with Enhanced Flared Magazine Well and Rear Receiver QD Swivel Attachment Point Upper: Daniel Defense M4 Upper Receiver Assembly Barrel: 16" 5.56mm Lightweight Carbine CHF Barrel - w/LPGB Daniel Defense Superior Suppression Device (.223 /5.56mm) Complete Bolt Carrier Group (5.56mm) Modular Float Rail 12.0 Fixed Front/Rear Sight Combo

Ruger American

I got the American in 30-06 for Christmas. The recoil is stout for sure, but I didn't find it unbearable or painful. Then again, I don't find shooting a Mosin Nagant 91/30 all that bad. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
21.
I got a Garmin , a GoPRO Hero  3 , lotion, lipstick.. cookies .a scarf made by my good friend .and I am getting a new horsetrailer..I did good:))
Enjoy that GoPro! I really want one but just haven't had the cash. Very nice!
22. Looks great! Handle looks like it would be comfortable in-hand and offer lots of control.
23. Love the ZT 0350. My favorite EDC blade. Congrats!
