I'm sure he's busy consoling Sean Penn and Danny Glover by convincing them he can turn our country into a big-a$$ Cuba by the end of his term.
-
True or not, I suspected this was happening. They see the lines of people and there's dollar signs in their eyes. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if managers did it too.

For the record, a new gun shop in Franklin/Cool Springs had hundreds of 20 ct boxes of 7.62x39 for $8.99 each yesterday. Their brass .223/5.56 was going for $16.99 for the same size boxes..

Despite how my previous post sounded, I despise the scalping going on. Seeing a guy from a LGS buy 10 PMags at Academy that he plans to mark up 300% when he gets back to his store pisses me off too. Same with the Internet and guns show resellers. I just wish there were more ants than grasshoppers, so nobody would "need" stuff bad enough to pay those inflated prices. It just makes me sad that the ants are being lumped up with the scalpers right now.

If your respondents want to use current prices for theirs use current prices for yours. You can't roll back time, but you can at least compare apples to apples. IIRC they cost about the same pre-crazy, but this ain't pre-crazy. If you feel yours is only worth what you paid for it, demand an even trade. If you realize yours went up in value more than theirs, ask for 150 or 160 rounds of theirs.

Great pic! Always fun to see stuff like that.

If I owned the gun store, I'd rather sell a regular customer 1000 primers and keep his business in the long run, even if that offends the delicate sensibilities of the spread the wealth crowd. What happened to the early bird getting the worm?
-
I've only bought primers by the 1000 twice. Once was SPP when I first started reloading and the other was LPP when I first started loading 45s. Every other time I've gotten cases of 5000...thank you DLM! This shortage of everything sucks! It aggravates the crap out of me that this could last 3 more years.

Some very intersting stats as to why there is a ammo shortage
BigK replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
I find it humorous that the last 2 times I was at Walmart the only pistol ammo I saw was .25 acp. Where I came from, that's the kind of ammo the criminals needed for the guns they carried. -
If you wait til is starts, the lines at the liquor store will be shorter.

I'm definitely down with group rates, loaner Class III weapons/accessories, and Krystals. The streaming video is the best idea yet. That's a brilliant marketing idea. Who wouldn't want to post zombie kill of the week on YouTube? The "no dying / getting bit guarantee" goes against the whole spirit of things. That's like Internet hunting w/ a remote controlled rifle or video games. I was thinking more along the lines of forcing vacationers to sign a "you lose and you become part of the next guy's vacation package" waiver, LOL.

The bumper sticker on my truck that says it all: "The hardest thing about the Zombie Apocalypse will be pretending I'm not excited." Like I recently told a friend, I'd sign up for a 2 week zombie infestation given that: 1) slow zombies only (them rage zombies scare the #### out of me), 2) a 6 month head start to get in shape (cardio is going to be important), 3) I want a gun-friendly administration for the year leading up, so I can economically stock up on guns/ammo (I can always make catch-up 401k contributions later) 4) Taco Bell and Chick-fil-A are zombie-free zones (I don't wanna waste valuable zombie killing time to scavenge for food) Oooh, maybe a Disney-esque vacation spot for rednecks or a Six Flags Over Zombieland where we can kill zeds all day and sleep/shower in a 2 star hotel at night? I know it's just a dream, but how cool would that be? If you could be on the planning board of the zombie vacation land, what would you want included?
-
See that takes all the fun out of good apocalypse. I suppose there are no preppers in Bizarro Zombieland either and no whackos with half a million rounds of ammo they're hoarding (just kidding, jphilips63, I'm seriously jealous).

I guess in retrospect, if the backpacker couldn't avoid a few zombies in the middle of nowhere, he wouldn't have been much help.

For the price I paid for my HF model and the extended warranty, I can replace it every 3 years, if necessary, with a new one and never touch the price on the high-end models. I'm sure the good ones have better parts, but you also gotta watch that too. From what I was reading when I was studying on which to buy, the really powerful ones actually vibrate fast enough that if parts clink together during cleaning they can damage one another. Must be true, I read it on the Internet.

Maybe check out Wolff Gunsprings. They aren't captured springs. They sell factory, reduced-power, and extra-power springs. They also have spring and guide rod packages.

Okay, I have my spinning propeller hat firmly on my pointy little head now, so here goes... Carl dropped that picture just inside the door on the way out. Zombies were stacked 3 deep at the cafe doors. How the hell am I supposed to buy Michonne getting in/out that quick w/out a scratch to fetch that photo? My wife even called bovine scattology on that one and this is her first episode. ...I feel better now. Not sure what hat (crooked halo, maybe?) to say this, but... Not picking up the backpacker was nearly evil. Stupid at bare minimum. Almost as dumb as kicking the group out of the prison.

We've met before, if you recall. Your patch to cheeseburger ratio ain't got nothin on me.
-
One time my son left the lid off a container of zit wipes and they dried out. I dug them out of the trash and used them as cleaning patches. That was the most expensive cleaning patches I've ever used, but still a good save despite my wife calling me a scrooge.

Nice shop! That place is huge. I like the benches too. I'd kill for a climate controlled basement shop, but most of my neck of the woods is only a few feet above solid rock. I get to sweat in the summer and shiver in the winter out here in my garage.

WTF moment: Kid disarms a gunman and gets suspended!
BigK replied to Sam1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm guessing they're too busy indoctrinating our kids to find a mate and/or breed. -
Keep the stickers coming, I'm a sticker-holic. I got 3 of the others and 2 of these. Shirts would be awesome too, though.
