  1. $100 was the minimum twenty years ago. I am sure it has gone up since then. Anything less that that required massive amounts of paperwork and a tax assessment.
  2. In today's day and age, the internet presence can and does outweigh the storefront.
  3. I wish someone had told me this a dozen lights ago...
  4. I grabbed a Streamlight Stylus Pro the other day. I am very hard on flashlights, and all pocket lights I have bought have lasted days, not weeks. We will see how this one does. I am not easy or forgiving on my lights.
  5. I would buy a Glock .22 THE DAY it was available at a LGS.
  6. Semantics without sarcasm. We are on the same page.
  7. Some folks are just accepting the law changes and adapting, as opposed to uprooting and moving to Free States.
  8. A true Glock faithful never left. If Glock made a true pocket pistol, I would stop carrying my Micro Eagle. For all else other than deep concealment daily pocket carry, my G19 fits the bill. And that is 100% of the time I am not at work.
  9. I lived half the state away, my stepfather gave me a car. It was an old Mustang, they wanted a ton of paperwork, then they would base taxes on assessed value... The clerk then asked me, "You paid $100 for the car, right?" You are damn right I did.
  10. It might be cheaper to 'buy' the car than to be 'given' the car based on all the paperwork and assessed tax value.
  11. We did TN History in the 7th Grade. It was a brown book at the start of the 90s.
  12. I own my daughter's Chromebook, it is in no way shape or form locked down. There is however a dedicated website for her to get her assignments from. She is allowed to do research from other sources.

    Birds!

So after years of nagging my wife, I finally acquired a pair of keets. This afternoon we went to the local flea market, where there is a booth run by a bird lover. We got Snowball, our male and Sky, our female. The cats could care less after their cursory inspection, but the dogs are going insane over them. I had done some light reading before bringing them home, so I had a good idea of what I was getting into, but I have now spent the entire afternoon reading anything I can find about Budgies. Frankly I am fascinated by them. It will take a bit of work, especially with menagerie I already have, but I am sure I will become accepted into their flock. Next up is a much larger cage. Any other bird folks on here?
  14. My daughter does a large percentage of her school work on a Chromebook. They rent them for $50 a year. I assume there are assistance programs for many families. I bought her one after last year, they tried to make us pay for damage to her rental, that we had documented was damaged upon issuance.
  15. Don't toy with me. We have talked about this for a long while. I want your Jericho 941. You know this. I have even been hording .41AE brass for that day.
  16. I would trade some 9mm just to have it. Then again I have a .30-40 Krag for no reason...
  17. I have a Jericho Compact (Magnum Research Baby Eagle) which is a variant there-of on the CZ. It is hands down the most aesthetically appealing firearm I own beyond my cowboy guns. There is something about the CZ design that just does it for me. You collection does no insults to the design, that is for sure.
  18. I guess that depends on the caliber of lawyer he can afford.
  19. I thought the previews were good,
  20. Rural King has dozens of stores. They are an Illinois based chain. There are more than just the Clarksville store. A Kentucky resident would not even be permitted to buy a pistol in Tennessee. CCDW or not.
  21. It was, in my home state. Where I possess a CCDW. In my home state, a CCDW exempts me from the background check as it is run monthly. As such the CCDW in my home state is considered more stringent than that of other states, such as Tennessee. *EDIT* I suppose it is fair to acknowledge this, it might not be obvious. I was raised in Tennessee and left several years ago. I am one of but a few members who maintain a regular membership while living out of state. TGO is by far and away on of the best firearms communities I belong to, as such I have remained a regular posting member after my departure from the state. Reading this, I assumed that most commentators of the thread would understand that. I am sorry if it is lost. I live in KY, I possess a CCDW in KY, I attempted the purchase in KY.
  22. Most of the questions are pretty straight forward. One yes, a dozen no's.
  23. I am failing to see where I was committing a felony in my narrative? I have the KY CCDW, which is a bit more stringent than the TN HCP as the background check is run monthly. There are a few reasons you can be denied without outright lying. A delay is far different from a denial. A denial can stem from a simple charge that was never processed out, a delay usually stems from a bad person who has the same name. Both can be appealed. I have purchased a *few* firearms in my life. Something in the last five years occurred to someone with my name, as it started triggering delays, prior to that, I never had issues. My name is not common, by any means. For those following, today they called me and told me that I was given the green light, but I am not entirely sure I am going to grab it. I am, it was a good deal, but I am still bitter.
  24. For what it is worth, Cabelas loves me, and I got a Pietta 10 shot .22LR that is pretty nifty...
  25. I would not think so. Even then I would only be able to purchase long arms. As silly as it is, I don't think I have ever had a delay when purchasing a long arm, only handguns. I have been informed it is a corporate policy, as they are based in Illinois.
