  1. Sweet. I got a sidebox for my grill this week. I am going to be joining the smoking word too. We grill every Sunday at my house. Been a tradition for a while, so now I will mix it up with some smoking. Happy birthday.
  2. I am the type to mind my own business if someone else's business don't interfere with mine. Maybe even question my career choices if these are my peers... But I grew up rough, and I firmly believe in 'snitches get stitches.' Your mileage may vary. I live a very good life now. Drama like this isn't part of it, and hasn't been for years.
  3. Crap, not even noobs, cats not even born yet... Getting old sucks.
  4. I bought my house three years ago slightly undermarket. I have had my realtor call me at least a dozen times telling me we could list it for 70% more than I paid and have it sold in a week. I like my house, and I don't want to go looking for another one.
  5. I am pretty old now, and I have been in that community for long enough that noobs could legally buy alcohol now... I refuse to be a responsible adult. Facts notwithstanding.
  6. I need the gun/barrel for it first... Hipower knows I am after his.
  7. It is worth adding that I carry a Micro Eagle as my EDC. It goes with me like my wallet. Even when I am carrying something else. I have no issues with anything Magnum Research puts out, quality is excellent in my book.
  8. I think a lot of cats are missing that the Jericho the OP talked about is actually in 9mm, he is speaking of getting a .41AE barrel for it after the fact (those that got the package deal, I am looking at you Hipower) got a good deal. I have a box full of brass just for the day I can find one, or buy Hipower's. But I have been after that for years. I don't see the Jericho as anything other than an all steel alternative to a Glock. It is not an inferior pistol, it just isn't a Glock. I love mine, I just prefer the Glock.
  9. I love the staff here. I love this site. It is the most professional and properly run of all sites I frequent. Including my own. I ban volunteers on April 1st and don't explain why...
  10. I have a IMI Jericho 941 Compact (Magnum Research Baby Eagle branded). I bought it because IMO it is the most aesthetically appealing gun I have ever seen. And Cowboy Bebop. The recoil is negligible due to the weight. It is very accurate. I have never regretted the decision. I carry a G19. It is the same size as the 941, weighs a lot less and holds a lot more rounds.
  11. My daughter shoots competition with a single shot bolt gun. Both of her "rifles" are Savage MkIIs in .22LR. If you are into a .223, Ruger and Savage make them, the American is more affordable. Look at the variants. I think they have a Ranch and a Predator in .223. Of those two, I can't say I would suggest another. My Heathen shoots left handed so Savage was a the obvious winner for us. I however have a Mossberg Patriot in .308 for my bolt gun. Just to mess up the mix.
  12. It seems like everyone with a CB now is a four wheeler, a good buddy or a steering wheel holder if you are lucky, but no more drivers.
  13. If it wasn't the PT-92, which is what I have always heard good things about for decades, it would have been the PT111, which has only been spoken highly of for a few years...
  14. Dammit, I was counting on you to tell me how useful you found it. I spent ten years in the trucking industry, I was hoping it had changed.
  15. Hard times, maybe. I have a CB in one of my vehicles. I quit turning it on. No one utilized it properly. No one knows what lane to be in, and C19 is all about whose mother was the loosest. It is not what it was when I used to use them. I am not a professional trucker (driver, yes.) I am not sure they would have a different opinion.
  16. My Sunday Ritual is to get up, perform my weekly yard maintenance, go to Walmart with my daughter and get items to grill for dinner in the evening. We stop at the Gamestop next door so my daughter can see Andrea, the manager and her girl crush. Today involved a lot of driving around. We went to Costco to get stuff to grill, and then Kroger for the items I didn't need in bulk. I will not go back to Walmart. It was frustrating last night when I stood and took stock of all the things that I get from Walmart. Just more of a hassle now, but we will be better for it. I am not putting myself or my family back in that position. We have been Costco members for years, my wife normally handles all of that. Sure, it was just as crowded with people dawdling in the middle of the aisles, but there were no bascarts drifting through the parking lot. Everyone put them back in the corral, just like I do... That was worth it all.
  17. So you just witnessed me and my family dodge out of the way of a speeder in a parkinglot, at a crosswalk, and you are going to confront me for my choice on language? Classy. Yeah, this seems to be a daily thing at Walmart. This is just the first time I have literally had to pull my family out of the way of some moron.
  18. I think it was more along the lines of "HOLY S**T THIS PERSON ALMOST KILLED ME AND MY FAMILY!!!" versus a cussing out. I am certain that anyone would have expressed the same emotions as I did after literally pulling my eleven year old daughter and wife out of the way of a speeding car in a crosswalk. And I was carrying. Including a giant pig sticker on my hip openly. While that does very often consider into my actions, at that exact moment, it didn't. I would have done some serious harm to the driver of the car had he/she stopped. The adrenaline of the moment took over. By the time I was confronted by the manager, I turned around and walked away, knowing there would be no other good outcome.
  19. This afternoon while walking into the Walmart here in Shelbyville, my family and I were walking through the crosswalk. We were literally in the middle of the crosswalk when someone decided that stopping was not for them and they swerved around us, missing me and my family by less than a foot. I screamed at the driver of the car, "It's a ####ing parkinglot asshole!" As the person drove off, my family and I continued into Walmart where we were accosted by Travis, whom I assume was a manager of some sort. Travis confronted me and started by saying he was sorry for what had just transpired, but I needed to watch my language. I was floored. My family was just nearly mowed down by some inconsiderate mouth breather, and the manager is asking me to watch my mouth? I was aghast and told this vest wearing keyholder "My family was nearly run over by some mother####er?!" To which he responds that I need to calm down and watch my language as there are children in the store. No concern for the eleven year old child holding my hand, but other children, who would apparently be less traumatized by a family being slaughtered in a crosswalk than a large tattooed man screaming profanities. I turned around and left. Thank you Travis, this was the exact straw I needed to quit being a Walmart Customer.
  20. I have parted with one gun in recent memory. It was an 870 Special Field. I had zero use for a purpose built gun. I was worried that had a kept it that it would wind up bubbaed. I let someone else take and used the proceeds to by my Heathen a .22LR target gun, which will cost much more after it is bedded in a custom stock. But it is a small investment to pay for college.
  21. Wait, you only have eight? Amateur, my eleven year old daughter owns more guns than you... I have guns I bought that I thought I wanted, I could trade them if I wanted to, but I leave them at the back of the safe. I did sell one a few months ago. The first one in years. It was a Special Field 870, and I was worried that if I had kept it too much longer, I would do something stupid with a rare and collectible gun. So I found a guy that wanted it to hunt with because he knew what it was.
  22. I am cheap. I have a Porter Cable 'Tiger Saw' sawsall that is about 2/3 the size of a regular sawsall. It shares batteries with my light and drill and fits where I need it. I use this professionally as a service plumber. It is one of the best $50 I ever spent.
  23. Since everyone seemed to enjoy my bike, I took a few pictures of it today on my ride.
  24. When I bought my Sportster the dealership tried really hard to indoctrinate me into the cult of personality. Gave me a free HOG membership, invited me to a member's only bike night. I went. I am knocking on forty. I was the youngest person there by twenty years. I was the only Sporty. There was maybe one Dyna and one Softtail. It was all baggers and trikes. Everyone was guzzling cheap beer in their leather vests and chaps. I drank a bottle of water and left. I only go to the dealership when I want to check out new models or I need a part I can't get online cheaper. Bluegrass H-D is a great place. I have made friends with a couple of the sales cats. They are all bearded and tattooed rough around the edges guys like me. But man, I just do not fit in with the majority of the clientele. In the years I have had my bike, I haven't found a group to ride with. I haven't looked that hard though. For me it is more of a meditation thing. I put my headphones in, put my helmet on and gear up. Turn up some metal and disappear into the backroads for a few hours. Come back when I need gas. I won't lie. I wanted a Sportster. It was a Harley. IMO if you are riding a cruiser, you wish it was a Harley. Regardless of the fact that Japanese bikes are more reliable and more economic, all modern cruisers are based on the Harley design. Sportbikes, naked bikes and Goldwings, yeah, you ride what you wanted. But if you are on a cruiser, you wish it was a Harley. At least it was that way for me. I had a Shadow and it was impossible to find parts to customize it. NOTHING was available. The Harley sound is iconic, the look is iconic. That is why I bought a Sporty. It was a Harley and I have a 2000 page book absolutely full of aftermarket parts to help me make it whatever I wanted, without making it look just like someone else's bike. I get grief from the old guard. "Why didn't you buy a Dyna?" "Oh, you will love it when you upgrade to a Street Glide!" "You could have got a really nice used Softtail for what you paid for your Sportster." "Sportsters are a girl's bike." Don't bother me. I like what I ride, it fits me and my purposes, goes like hell and looks really sweet. I was considering a Yamaha Bolt and an Indian Scout when I made the purchase, but even my wife knew, "You won't be happy unless you buy the Harley." I guess years of marketing did work.
