Welcome to TGO,....... I have 2 years in TN so far, from 10 in MD.... well all I can say is I didn't make any mistake moving at all.... I'll always visit family and locations in MD, VA, and D.C. but I'll never ever live there again....
-
There are good shops out there... I believe in the 'free' market, but I also hope everyone will also REMEMBER who's been totally and obviously GOUGING out there...during this time... D&T's been my LBS in this area good folks....

This was 'his' 9/11.... pathetic and disgraceful. oh, and please get up on stage again after your political speech, for your applause... SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?

So, 'Trav' and I were knocking down a few beers one night and I drew out my 'ideal' carbine on a paper napkin. He was impressed to say the least. ..... I told him in my druk'in state... "hey you can use it all if you want but don't make it 300 Blackout like what I already have". ... looks like he didn't use my ambi saftey, or BAD lever, or RSA up front .... but my hand writing that night on the napkin was pretty bad anyways... :yuck: "Hey Trav, I want some kick back on the profits dude!, I didn't think you were seriously going to put it out." j/k you know its all good brutha. :D

Plenty of good vids on YouTube... I usually install (dry-fit/ test fit ) the gas tube to the gas block 1st, put the barrel on the upper receiver and then put the gas block & tube on the barrel.... get it all lined up place thin accurate marks on the gas block and barrel as alignment marks and then go from there.

I've EDC my G19 for 2 years and have had about 2k worth of ammo thru it (eats everything), and it keeps on chugging. Lots of aftermarket options with it, and have only modified the sights. Great pistol...and... its an RTF model to boot... still love it even though my sig gets equal carry time now.

they have the crossbreed for the XDS @ D&T Arms. wish I had a XDS to put one in but......
-
NICE BUILD...... I tried to an economical build ... but went overboard on the Geissele handguard... O well I have the same barrel & trigger. vltor stock, magpul, and BCM furniture.

Your not going to want the original SR-556 if our concerned about weight, its easily close to 9-10 lbs with a full mag. They do have a 14.5" version, and a base model with a lighter handguard... but with the piston rifles...LWRC is really doing it right.

Aimpoint PRO vs EoTech XPS2-2
sigrug17 replied to Troutburger's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I have the Aimpoint PRO, and Eotech 512. The Aimpoint has better batter life, but for some reason I like the reticle of the 1 MOA and 65 MOA circle better on the Eotech, for an reference when aiming. -
Magpul MS3, VTAC Blueforce 2pt, or MissionSpec M2P

You could probably get one over at D&T Arms. If they don't have it in shop, they can probably order it and have it for you by midweek or end of next week. They really offer competitive prices and well, their local too!!! Great crew.

I worked as a bike mechanic and sales before I came to TN. You'll want to set a budget, but you'll also want to decide on what your going to use the road bike for (just weight loss, exercise, recreational or later on getting into tri's or road racing. ) Reason: if its just for weight loss and exercise you might want to consider a touring/ hybrid bike, or flat bar (like a mtn bike type) handlebars. If your even considering any competitions later on..I'd stick with a pure roadbike. For your weight and size, I'd stay away from a pure aluminum frame bike, as they tend to be Not so comfortable as they don't really absorb the terrain very well, though they are very responsive, and one of the lighter materials. I'd recommend something with a carbon fork, and if possible carbon seatstays. Most people don't stick with the stock seat, so that is something worth the investment to find a proper one. I'd also recommend dedicated cycling shorts too, as they are very important and a very wise investment in enjoying cycling. And like the other's responses, get a proper fit. (and "yes" I still ride... but not the thousands of miles yearly anymore.) Just my two cents

thanks for the post. I was thinking of getting one...now more so.

second the spyderco tenacious!...although the kershaw OSO and skyline really rock too! why... the way they carry and blade metal...that stays sharp and isn't hard to resharpen.

Magpul CTR, or the Vltor's are my two favorites.

Great pics...Love the GunBlast channel on the 'tube.'
