  1. I used the Chip McCormick 10 rounders on my MC Operator and worked great. 99% of the time though I ran the 8 round Wilson's just to cut down on size. The 10 round mags were simply for my SWAT rig but I eventually went back to my Glock 35. The MC Operator never missed a beat though. Congrats on the Kimber it is a very good looking gun. Coincidentally my wife also bought my MC Operator for my Christmas present the year my daughter was born.
  2. I've also been toying with the idea of another Glock 19. I have an all FDE version but would like one in every color just cause. I really want a battlefield green one. I say if you have all your firearm needs filled there is no reason to not pick up a duplicate.
  3. Quick Google search shows its a digital art image by Artstation and grip says CP 500 if anyone wants to look into it further. So in short not a real handgun.
  4. I should have put in my original comment what others have said about try both. My comment was more meant for me the 19 is the best size compromise. If you shoot the 17 better, can conceal it, and will actually carry it everyday then by all means go with the 17. I can conceal a 17 as well but it can start to dig a little more riding around all day plus I conceal extra mag and cuffs in the waistband so I like minimal weight and size. I'm a 32 waist so I have minimal tactical real estate lol. If you feel the 17 will fit your lifestyle then go with that. God forbid you are ever in a gunfight but I'm sure if you have the 17 you won't be thinking "man I wish I had a Glock 19 instead".
  5. Glock 19. If could only have one gun it would be a Glock 19. It does everything well. Big enough for combat and small enough to conceal. It is what I settled on for plain clothes police work for the above reasons.
  6. Working plain clothes I've carried everything from Springfield 1911 MC Operator w/Surefire x300 down to a Glock 19 w/XC1 light concealed. I find I can reasonably conceal just about any standard size firearm with my shirt untucked. I'm 5'10" 175 and athletic build. I run either Raven Concealment or Bravo Concealment holsters with an Ares Ranger Belt Enhanced. The belt makes all the difference for the heavier guns. I ended up running my Glock 19 the most because I also conceal handcuffs and extra mag and it all gets pretty heavy working all week. Just remember just because it's comfortable for 10 minutes around the house doesn't mean it will be comfortable all week.
  7. I am in need of a reasonable gunsmith to install a standard AK trunnion on my M92 SBR. I would like to have options on standard AK stocks. I am in Spring Hill area.
  8. I have been trying to purchase a 6 month premium Benefactor membership for the last week. I have tried on both my mac pro, droid, iPhone, and desktop at work (dell i think). When I click add to cart it just gets stuck. The circle still rotates as if its trying to do something but never does. Not a tech guy so don't know how else to describe it lol.
  9. OAL best I can get with a tape measure is 8 1/8 inches. Probably too close to suppress depending on mounting system.
  10. It is a Troy PDW stock that comes with a shorter buffer tube and a proprietary BCG that has a built in buffer weight. It helps shorten the OAL but can still be fired fully collapsed.
  11. And all I need is a spare $1000.00 my wife doesn't know about and I'd be set. Lol
  12. Sorry late reply. Got it fixed. Either gas block was misaligned or buffer weight was too heavy. My guess is gas block was misaligned. Reason I don't know is I replaced the stock with Troy PDW which uses one piece BCG buffer assembly and I reinstalled gas block. So one of those corrected the issue. Now it even cycles and locks back with 220gr subsonic unsuppressed.
  13. Yeah sorry empty mag, one in chamber shoots but doesn't lock on empty mag. Don't know why I typed that the way I did lol long morning with a baby dealing with recent cochlear implants. I'm losing my mind I promise the mag was in.
  14. Ok so I finished my 300 build and it looks super sexy but won't lock back on empty chamber no mag inserted. It's and 8" Aero barrel with a Syrac adjustable gas block and a standard weight buffer. Even with the gas block all the way open and shooting supers it still won't lock back. It will cycle a full mag but if mag is out chamber loaded and I shoot it doesn't lock back. This is my 4th rifle build using similar parts but always been in 5.56 not 300. I don't have the ability to check gas port size or drill it if needed. Could it be something else besides gas port? It seems over gassed to me with gas block all the way open but that's the only thing I can think of.
  15. I had a Para 1911 single stack government but can't remember the exact model name. It was a reliable fun gun to shoot but ended up trading it off and getting an MC Operator later. I would say price wise that was a good deal. Love the PVD finish on the new ones. I'm not a laser guy but you said you were so that probably makes the deal pretty sweet. If you do research you will find a lot of bashing from Springfield and Colt guys on other forums. I own both Colt and Springfield 1911s now but can't really say anything bad about my Para. However mine was one sample so you might have a different experience. Small 1911s can be picky from what I've read but never owned one shorter than 4". PICS!
  16. Dangerdawg, Yeah I've seen that explanation before. Like I said my sample is fantastic. Everything looked brand new and all my serial numbers match don't know how that's possible given the explanation shown. Finish was consistent throughout. Great bang for the buck at the time I bought but not sure about current market. I just don't think people should dismiss them as quality because of the IO/Polish confusion.
  17. Yup I was adding my experience for all the haters out there. Lol
  18. I have one of the IO/Pioneer Arms AKs and couldn't be happier. Overall fit and finish was great but still had it cerakoted cause I like colors lol. Only problem I had was with the tapco trigger which needed a light polishing. I would not hesitate to pick another one up if I had the funds.
  19. Man that is a nice rifle. Looking at same light and optic combo for my 8" 300blk. Still toss up against t-1. Love the color.
  20. Nice! I've been debating on weaponlight. Thinking mini scout. Probably put my t-1 on tommorow. I run the same mags despite the pic with magpul.
  21. I would contact him directly as pricing can vary depending on what you want done. He is very reasonable and I live in the same town as him so I just meet him.
  22. Trust me I've toyed with the idea. I've got a suppressed 556 SBR already with multiple uppers so I don't have to take the suppressor off. The yhm phantom shows some zero shift taking it on and off thats why i just ended up building several different uppers. If I ever do suppress the 300 blk I will likely build another upper. Gives me a good excuse anyways to build more uppers lol.
