  1. Yeah so I have emailed them twice over the last week. I keep getting the auto response that they will get back to me in 72hrs. I have not heard anything else in 8 days. I do want to send my 34 in for the Taran Tactical John Wick treatment but its low on my priority list right now.
  2. Lol true. Approx $1500. Maybe not as flashy but solid. We run these in 300blk and sbr'd for work, tack drivers.
  3. At $1350 your creeping into Daniel Defense territory. I currently would go DD if I had the choice just given their track record. I'm sure the Saint would be reliable and serve well too though.
  4. I'm kind of into Gucci Glocks at the moment. I have a Zev Socom 17 and Raven 19. My 17 just sheared both mounting posts under the cover plate after about 18 months of ownership an several thousand rounds. I emailed them yesterday and waiting a response. I'm sure they will say I over torqued the screws but I know I didn't. Love Zev designs but currently seeing how this plays out until I could recommend them.
  5. I like this. Never owned an FN but this one peaks my interest.
  6. I had an early XD 45 a long time ago. That thing felt like it was a tank and never had a hiccup. I always was fond of the XD series despite abandoning it. If it didn't have the grip safety I think it would be a little more popular. $299 is a sweet deal for a solid gun.
  7. To be honest I thought it would be uglier. Still have no interest in it.
  8. I didn't like the color combo until I saw this pic. I don't think it looks that bad. So is the rumored 43x and 48 the same? I assume 43x will be 43 slide on 48 frame. So shorter slide than 48.
  9. I agree with David on the 43, it seems to be successful to me. I love mine and I could carry generally anything I want. Off-duty it is my go to weapon for EDC. I shoot it extremely well compared to others in the field. Capacity is adequate with the TT +2 or +3 basepads. I've tried the Shield, XD-S, and numerous others that I dont quite consider competitors as they are more pocket guns and haven't found one I like better. I am not one of the legit high speed dudes David mentioned but I have done a little bit that I feel I have an ok grasp of weapons and can generate a decent opinion of a firearm. I think the big 3 all put out solid handguns (M&P, XD-S, 43) that just come down to user preference. I have never told someone that bought one of these that they should have bought a 43 because realistically if they carry it, it shoots reliability, and they like it then that is what matters. I am sure the 48 will sell for numerous reasons. Fanboys will buy them because they are Glocks, some legit dudes will buy them for the incremental benefits over another gun they have, noobs will buy them because they will fill several roles with one gun. Like I said in an earlier post I could probably find a day or two that this size would be convenient. Currently funds go to optics and other builds but who knows I may pick one up and it just speaks to me to buy it.
  10. I guess the best attribute it has going is it's a slimmer gun that is easier to fight with given its bigger overall size over say a LCP. It's definitely a gun of compromises. I don't know why this gun is messing my brain up, lol. Everytime I look at it I think "I wish Glock would do something exciting that wasn't this". I don't know what they could do though either to excite me.
  11. I'm torn on this. I work plain clothes and carry both the Glock 19 w/XC1 + RMR and Glock 43 w/TLR-6. Usually in the summer I carry the 43 a little more based on my build and style of dress. Width of firearms generally is my biggest problem given my style of dress. I could see a very narrow niche this could fill for me as I like the extra length and imagine shootablity to be slightly better than my 43. Capacity is kind of irrelevant as I carry +2 and +3 Taran Tactical mags in my 43. But I guess an extra round or two would be nice. I don't know that this would solve any real problem that I cant work around with my 19 or 43 but I can see a very narrow use if I had one. Saying this I don't think I would buy one for the same reason I haven't bought a Glock 45/19x. I just can't justify the money for something I feel doesn't offer a substantial improvement over what I already have (G34,17,19,43). But if someone on here buys me one I would probably find a day or two in the year that it would be convenient to carry. So I guess in summary I'm just trying to say I don't think it's completely useless but also at the same time not very useful, lol.
  12. Not sure on budget but if it were me: Expensive- DW Specialist 9mm / CZ Shadow 2 Cheaper- Glock 34 gen4
  13. Yes I should add that I also use Chip McCormick Power Mags as well and have no issues with those either. I dont own any cheap mags to say that they are the reason my MC Operator runs so good. I imagine if your gun has an issue then mags won't fix it but quality mags are a good place to start when trouble shooting a gun's problem. They are relatively cheap vs gunsmithing and who couldn't use more good mags anyway. I also had a buddy that had a Kimber SIS and was having issues. I ran my mags in it and had zero problems. So in his case it did fix it.
  14. I used them in my MC Operator and my LW Champion Operator and never had a hiccup in either gun. I don't have the LW anymore but have several thousand rounds through my MC Operator and it's been as reliable as my Glocks (gasp). Ultimately I'm a Glock guy though due to my work requirements but would not hesitate to carry the Operator with 47d mags.

    AR Pistols?

I run an 8" 300blk SBR with a PDW stock as my SWAT gun and have ran several other shorties. The 8" 300blk is awesome as I can fit it in a backpack for plain clothes work. Also love the maneuverability in tight spaces like trailers. Flash and concussion is a little more than full length rifles but in reality they all will leave your ears ringing. It's all a trade off. I feel the benefits outweighs the negatives.
  16. I like my Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x w/green triangle for this purpose. Fast close in and enough magnification for mid range using the tip of the triangle. I currently have it mounted on my 16" .308 AR.
  17. I kinda feel the same way. Loved my Phantom LC holsters and now can't find one that does both IWB and OWB well. I run thier Morrigan holster for my 19 with XC1 attached and it's ok but you can't convert it to OWB and it doesn't quite hug your body like the Phantom does. Add in I'm left handed and holster shopping is horrible. Bravo Concealment made a pretty good Phantom copy but last I checked they stopped custom orders and discontinued left hand models to cut costs.
  18. I've recently become addicted to Gucci Glock builds myself. I have a Zev Tech Glock 17 Gen 4 Enhanced Socom and currently have on order a Zev Tech Glock 19 gen 4 Raven slide. It should be here Wednesday. I have an Agency trigger but have always gone back to just factory Glock triggers with a minus connector. The trigger is nice I just tend to like factory Gen 4 triggers as well.
  19. That's an awesome looking 1911. I always wanted a Specialist and now I really want a Specialist Commander 9mm but can't justify it since I don't carry 1911s. Still have my SA Operator but it just sits in the safe even though it is my favorite handgun I own.
  20. I'll pm you as I'm not sure of the rules.
  21. So I finally finished my Glock 17 gen4 minus the magwell. Specs: Zev Tech Socom complete slide in space gray DLC, threaded and dimpled barrel, Zev Tech lightweight extended striker, Zev Tech sights, RMR cut, Agency Arms drop in non adjustable trigger, and Taran Tactical +6 basepads. I also have e the co-witness iron sights if I ever put an rmr on it. Eventually want to put the Zev Tech magwell on as well. Shoots great and I messed around with spring rates/connectors because trigger was too light. Got it up to about 4.5lb now which is where I like it.
  22. Several companies make lightweight level III + steel plates now that stop 5.56 & 7.62. They generally weigh around 5.5 lbs a plate and are not expensive. III+ is not an industry standard rating I don't think but has been adobted by companies pitching plates to stop common rifle threats but not full on level IV.
  23. Nope. My favorite is my MC Operator 1911 my wife bought me for Christmas the year my daughter was born. My go to is my Glock 19 gen4 for daily.
  24. I'm currently running Lancer Advanced Warfighters so I don't mix them up with 5.56 pmags. These will be nice I'm sure but don't know if they are different enough for me to trust myself not to mix them up at the range. Guess I could mark them. I would be super pumped for a .300blk magpul d60 though. Did someone make some mag bands for marking mags on here?

    Wheel gun itch

I always have a revolver itch because I just feel classy carrying one but I remind myself I can't shoot half as good with them as I can my Glocks/1911. Never get enough trigger time with them to feel comfortable with 6-7 rounds. Carried an SP 101 for a bit but always ended back up with my Glock 19. Maybe one day I will get back into a small carry revolver as I'm good enough for 10 yards and in, which off duty is the most likely as far as I would need to shoot. Great now you got me thinking I need a revolver again as I typed this post.
