Hi Hunter. I was the one admiring your poly AR lower at the range. It was great to meet you and I look forward to seeing you again at the meet-n-shoot. The range is private and there is not a gun store in spring hill, so be sure to bring ammo and targets since there is not really a place to buy any in the area. For those who have not ever been there, the rifle range consists of target at 25, 50, and 100 yards. There are wood stands to either staple or tape your targets to. There are 2 pistol pits and they are 7 and 15 yards (that is the max, you can go closer on either). They each have a clothes line looking thing that you can hang targets from or you can do what i do which is lay clay pigeons at the end of the pit to shoot at. I enjoy the fact of being able to easily see how far I miss easily, plus it is so much fun to see them explode when i hit them with my Taurus 1911 .45 I did talk to a range officer the other day and there is not a limit on the number of guests. The only requirement is that they are with a member, pay $5, and the member has explained the rules. Most of the rules are the norm like don't point a gun at anyone, leave the slide open when lying a gun down, etc... The main thing is that you can change the targets in the pistol pit at anytime, but the rifle range can only be changed with a cease fire. The process is that someone on the rifle range yells "Clear" and everyone (including the pistol pits) respond with "Clear" and everyone ceases fire. When everyone is done hangin targets the person who called for "Clear" yells "Hot" and everyone answers "Hot" and returns to having fun. I enjoyed meeting several of you upstanding citizens in Murfressboro last month and look forward to meeting more of you this Saturday. Steve

Is there any way to get a license plate with "Choose Life" and the NRA Logo? I am all for shooting bad guys and criminals, but have a serious problem with killing babies. I would also say put 5.56MM on it, but someone already took that one. I guess I will have to go with 45ACP.

I love it. It shows that you are a "bitter" person who is hiding behind your guns.

Moto Q if you want something simple. If you want to utilize all that windows mobile 6 has to offer go with the HTC Mongul. The Blackberry Network is crap, I would stick with one of these two, but I have heard that the Touch is not bad, it is made by HTC just like the Mongul.

Obama- Small town people "cling" to guns and religion
HanSolo replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I agree with Rabbi. I have been saying for a year that Obama was trying to get into office the same way peanut-head Carter did. Don't stand for anything but "change" (what we still do not know) and hopefully everyone hates the others enough to elect you. The only problem for Obama is that Carter waited until he was in the White House to open his mouth and how much of an idiot he was, Obama started about 10 months early. As far as people still liking him, it does not surprise me. A poll by Ramussen showed asked people "do you think America is a good country?" 100% of Republicans said yes while only 50% of democrats said yes. So if you hate America and think it is a bad country, of course you are going to support that moron no matter what he says. He could campaign on turning the entire country Muslim and outlaw all other religions and these people would still vote for him. -
I personally love the XD. I actually own 2 of them. I have personally seen 2 glocks go boom in the wrong direction so I usually feel like I am holding a gernade when i hold a glock. I have not owned a Glock, but have fired a few and they were nice shooting pistols. But after seeing 2 seriously malfunction at the range. I have trouble betting my life on them. Both of the malfunctions were with reloaded ammo, but I have seen many guns shoot reloads and I have only personally seen glocks screw up.

I have an XD 40 SubCompact and Tactical and love them both. I have had the SC for a little over a year and have never had a problem and it is very accurate for a 3" barrel.
-
I own both the XD SubCompact and Tactical in 40 and I love both of them. I carry the SC normally but carry the Tactical whenever I am hiking or hunting. I used to have an RIA which was a very nice gun, but the 45 double stack was a little big for my hands, so I sold it and picked up a Taurus PT1911 SS .45. It is to pretty to carry in the woods. The taurus is leathly accurate, but I am just as accurate with the XD Tactical in 40. For the XDs, if it is for home defense and range and you are looking for accuracy I would go for the tactical, if you plan on daily carry go for the subCompact and get a M-Tac holster.

July 4th is ok because everyone loves more fireworks. I was actually on the range yesterday and an older gentleman had a 40 reload explode in his glock. Scared the old coger to death. The range officer and I checked out his gun and it was ok but the range officer told him to never shoot reloads in the glock. The back quarter of the brass casing was blown to hell. The range officer explained to me, as if I needed any more reasons not to buy a glock (I love my XD), that the glock does not support the whole bullet in the chamber and you could see on the exploded casing where the support isn't there, because that is the part that blew up.

I have the Taurus 1911 as well and love it. I am one of the people of the opinion that a 1911 should be 5"

I also have an XD Sub and I have been using the M-Tac for about 6 months and love it. I usually wear slacks and a button up shirt tucked in and it wears great for me. It was a little weird at first, but I became used to it pretty quickly. I wear mine at about 4 o' clock.

I never said the sp101 was a bad gun. I actually loved shooting it. I am 6' and 175 lbs and my normal everyday wear is slacks and a button up shirt with the shirt tucked in. I just found that my XD subCompact in a M-Tac holster a better carry gun. i probably would have kept the SP101 other than the fact that I did not necessarily need it since I have the list of handguns you can see below and I wanted an AR more.

i am thinking a new ar and he rest will be going to more ammo.

Sweet, I will probably order some this week then. I am not a fan of steel ammo. The only times I have ever had any of my pistols jam has been with steel. Thanks for the quick response.

Is the canned heat brass or steel cased?

Never a dull moment when you are with your AR....I mean wife

Welcome...

Seriously, I own both and like both for different purposes, so i guess I would say that i do not really have a preference.
-
you should get an m-tac which is an IWB where the holster is kydex and the back that is against you is leather. Then you could have the best of both worlds.

Pistol Gear is where I bought the set for my XD SubCompact 40 for 37.5, but they are sold out now. I am picking up a XD 40 Tactical Wednesday, so if you find the set anywhere cheaper than cdnn, please let me know.
-
cdnninvestments.com has the mag kit and it is 59.99. I believe someone else was selling them cheaper at one time, but I am not sure who. The only one I know of now is cdnn.

We can do owl hollow. I am actually a member there and I know at least one other person on here who is a member who would more than likely participate. It would be $5 a person who is not a member and they ask that guests stay with the members. They have 2 pistol pits and then a rifle range that goes to 100 yards. As far as food, people can meet in cool springs which as everything, or there is Logans, Cracker Barrel, or Applebees in Spring Hill. If you live in the spring hill area and are not a member you should really look into it. It is only $50 a year and is off of duplex just west of 65.
