  1. Chattanooga State offers the TN handgun safety course as well. http://www.chattanoogastate.edu/continuinged/pdf/CE_Classes.pdf information is on page 7.
  2. i had an event at the elementary school here last week. it was friday, donuts for dads, where you can go get juice and a donut with your kid before school, they pay for it from the pta funds. so im sitting there about to take him to class, and low and behold, an armed police officer walked in with his kid and sat down for donuts and juice. talk about a double standard huh. i thought about calling the local PD and raising hell, but i figured it was not worth my time.
  3. are you an owner operator or company driver? and if your company lets you legally carry, id be curious as to who that is. you can PM me the name if you dont want it aired out for all to see. i start my CDL training Sept 14th. it is amusing how many times i have seen the topic of commercial vehicle carry discussed. i know there is no federal law against doing so. there might be some backwoods town in east bumble fook that might had a 45 year old ordinance about that, but honestly if you are legal to carry the weapon you are good to go. anyone ever carried in an 18 wheeler in to california? if so, did you lock ammo and gun in different places and keep your trap shut?
  4. welcome. there are a few chattanooga people lurking around here.............
  5. the only hitch before was that they sold alcohol for on site consumption. now that carrying is legal per the law on that subject now, i see no reason not to carry. carry deeply concealed and no one is any wiser to what is going on around them.
  6. the only problem with commercial drivers carrying firearms is if you are unsure as to where your next destination might be. scenario: you live in TN, you get sent to texas which honors the TN permit, then you get sent to california, huge pain in the ass there. then to boot, you were sent to a california military base. that is the biggest headache that commercial drivers face while carrying. well, OTR drivers anyway.
  7. if i knew that someone had a box of .25 auto to trade for a box of .40 cal, id show up.
  8. well, let me be the first Glock owner to chime in. i told you so. any handgun will blow apart if the conditions are right. i guess that J frame was made by Glock. that explains why it blew up LMAO glad he wasnt seriously hurt though.
  9. east ridge sucks. im glad all the parks near my location are owned by Red Bank.
  10. it does not surprise me that East Ridge is doing this now. they do not want to give the new law a chance to work for the public. how many shootings have there been in the alcohol serving establishments by permit holders? i thought so.
  11. arrive at the DMV as soon as they open. that is i did, and i walked right up to the counter and got my number. you can speed up the process and drop by one day, get the application and fill it out. you WILL NEED your drivers license and your birth certificate. no exceptions on the BC. i know i had to have that document as i had to order mine from Ohio. i would cover my arse and take 2 pieces of mail with your name and addy, and even take 2 utility bills if you have them in your name as well. i dont think the mail is required, but who know what they will actually want to see for address verification. if you do it the way i posted,i bet you will be in and out of the DMV in no time. a lot of the wait time at the DMV is people filling out forms. if you go in with everything filled out, all you need is the waiting number. that and the 115 bucks. dress as nice as you want, your photo is taken after you pay your money. they take an updated photograph for the database right on the spot. that photo will also be the one they use if you renew your DL online. sig and all.

  13. the only way they are going to run your license is if you are going to get a ticket or if you are acting suspicious or paranoid. just show them the license, insurance papers and registration and you are on your way. the last roadblock i went through some years ago, they checked the tag on the car to see if it was valid (visual) asked for my DL, asked how i was doing, they peeked in the car to see that everyone was buckled and i was sent on my way with a smile.
  14. NRA-ILA :: National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Thwarted Despite Bipartisan Majority Vote
  15. its not a matter of shooting more, it is a matter of religiously cleaning that weapon on a strict schedule. weapons that are carried on the body concealed are prone to a lot more than dust, as you have found out. what would you have done if you had drawn that weapon in self defense? it would not have been pretty. i would soak the top end in a good quality oil that will not hurt polymer finishes. after you get the slide free and the round out of the chamber, please learn a lesson from this. if you sweat that much, clean and oil that weapon at least once a week to prevent further problems of this nature. maybe you can look in to other carry options, I.E. new holster, new location on your person, or maybe a combination of both. i am glad that you did not have to discover the hard way that the weapon was jammed. personally, i would not fire the weapon. it could seriously damage the slide or the polymer portions of the gun or even seriously injure you. the condition of the weapon sounds like a good chance for the infamous Glock KABooM we have all heard about.
  16. ***UPDATE***** Name: all parks in East Ridge City: East Ridge Entity Voting: East Ridge City Council Results of vote: Carry prohibited Previously a motion was made to ban carry and it died for lack of a second (see below) but the motion was reconsidered on 08/13 and passed unasimously to prohibit carry. Chattanooga Times Free Press | East Ridge changes course to ban weapons http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/tennessee-politics-legislation/25694-east-ridge-vote-tonight-opt-out.html Previous post below
  17. the group you met with is just crying at the huge change. had the media kept their collective mouths shut on the issue, i would bet that most of this nonsense would have have started. if you dont want HCP holders to be in your establishment, then post your gay sign. worry about the criminals then. and you are right, it is all about money, MY MONEY. if i see a sign, i go the other way. if you do not welcome my right to self defense, you do not welcome my hard earned money.
  18. when Darr's Shooting closed, that sealed the deal for decent gun dealers around here with the exception of Skip. i have heard good things about his place, although i have never been there.
  19. hes great, that is for sure. and he is not scared to say what is on his mind. so many people in his position are scared about making someone mad. Ted is like Kiss my Glock lol

  21. i have heard from many state employees that as long as you carry the renewal receipt with you, expired or not, you are legal to carry. i guess it would depend on if an ******* cop stopped you. i do not think i would want to try that.
  22. Name of Park:all City:Hamilton County Results of Vote:Banned Entity taking vote:Hamilton County Parks & Recreation Department as far as i know.
