Can anyone date this Smith and Wesson 19-3? 9K55490 They listed it as a 77 or 78. If it is a 77 I'm going after it as it was the year I was born.

A Red Bank police officer managed it a long time. He ended up shooting a woman he lived with. I say woman because I can't remember what her relationship was to him. I would think there would be more accidents from playing with the guns after forgetting they were loaded. I don't understand why it happens while cleaning. Maybe they just say they were cleaning as a cover to the real incident.
