  1. It appears the topic has left the building.
  2. Garufa, I can't begin to explain officers waiting outside while children are being killed. Also, can't understand the Supreme Court decision. There's no shortage of explanations, but most make no sense, at least to me. Wonder how well they sleep at nite.
  3. Certainly. That's my duty. I took it seriously. I served in combat in 'Nam. Nothing new.
  4. When I was with the Sheriff's Dept. we did active shooter training each year, sometimes within our Dept, sometimes with other depts. We trained & were told, the first one or more on the scene to enter immediately & neutralize the threat. This came about after Columbine, where officers waited outside for SWAT to arrive. That's been the standard since. It hasn't always been followed. So, if the BP officer was first, as reported, it was his job, regardless of jurisdiction.
  5. The Feds never let a gun tragedy go to waste.
  6. Update. Now reporting 18 children & 1 teacher dead. Going to be a long investigation.
  7. And , of course, the first response is , we need more gun laws.
  8. I have one I bought at Walmart years ago for $20. Still going. They no longer carry it.
  9. I have the H001 45/70. Never liked the tacticool look from day one. Just doesn't have the Henry look or appeal to me. Just my .02.
  10. I wouldn't go near Antioch for any reason.
  11. I could not agree more. One of the worst tragedies in our history. Everybody should read this story.
  12. Shield looks like it's taken a few hits.
  13. Smart decision I'd say.
  14. NBC news reports she shot herself in the head, causing her death. Apparently, police accuracy was up to snuff.
  15. The date of that action was Apr 25, '67. Today is Apr 25, 55 yrs later. He passed on the 23rd. Kinda spooky being that close.
  16. I got the bad news I had been expecting & dreading this afternoon. Ken Stumpfs' son called to tell me he had passed today about 2:30 pm. As I said before, he was a good man, friend, & soldier. He will be missed. Not a day went by I didn't think of him. At least he is no longer suffering. Rest in peace, Stumpy.
  17. I think it would be more comfortable getting shot.
  18. Hardly put the blame for the above on the mower. Don't put yourself in harm's way. If you're mowing on a slope, a more aggressive tire would be a good start, plus a wider stance. I DO NOT mow when wet, for several reasons.
  19. You're right about that. $ 3.84 is still too hard on my budget. Until all the oil valves are open, it's not going to change much, and the oil folks don't have much incentive to do that. My F150 has a 36 gal tank.
  20. $ 3.84 at Murphy , Lebanon, this am
  21. Actually, just saw on FB, that Chevrolet is giving his family a 2022 Chevy truck, loaded, to replace the damaged truck.
  22. I've got a Hustler I've had for 6 years, heavy steel welded deck, 24 HP Kohler engine. I've had zero issues with the engine, or anything else. Service it myself. I've owned several Kohler engines, never had a problem with any of them. It's not commercial grade, mowing 1.34 acres, some of it rough.
  23. Japaleno pepper has the same effect at that body part. Been there, done that (once).
  24. So he says. I doubt if they've got dug out yet.
