  1. But if cursive is no longer being taught and ultimately goes away, we are left with typing and, thus, spell check. At that point no need to teach spelling? Maybe we could just go with the first and last letter correct with the others in any order. Seems most people can read that without problem.
  2. Agree with upfmeet. The perp did not expect his victim to fight back. After all, he was a bad mf with that shotgun..
  3. I just cleared TSA at BNA a few minutes ago. Showed my HCP and the TSA agent immediately, but very nicely, handed it back and asked for my DL. After I gave it to him he commented that they stopped accepting the HCP "about six months ago." He then said he didn't know why since the HCP requires more vetting than a DL.

    Redistribution?
  5. Welcome Old Man Joe... you're in good company here.
  6.   Agree but that wasn't my point. Since the OP said it (HCP) had been accepted many times before I was just indicating that the HCP was, imho, better than a DL which is also issued separately state by state. I travel by air weekly and am not surprised at anything when it comes to the TSA (Thousands Standing Around).    :-\
  7.   I thought that was mostly associated with Tricky Dick Nixon....    "Make no mistake, I am not a crook."  Perphaps preceded by "Let me be clear."   While we're on such things, I am also very tired of hearing, "at the end of the day...."
  8. From their website, last updated in December 2012. Seems odd that the HCP isn't acceptable since you had to undergo vetting for it to be issued and the requirements are more stringent than those for a driver's license. http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/acceptable-ids
  9. A phrase that irks me is, "at this point in time," or "at that point in time."  Just use "now" and "then"..... some folks who talk like that simply like to hear themselves.
  10.   Remember, "yaknowwhatimean,vern?"
  11. That horse is out of the barn a long time ago....
  12. Spook

    Would you go?

Maybe their Walmarts have more ammo....
  13. So very predictable. Not sure why anyone would be surprised. She's just like a drug cartel or terrorist leader. There's always another one just like her that will follow.
  14. Maybe TSA random checks on highways....
  15. I saw the distinguished governor on the tube when up there a couple of times over the winter. He's the clown. I read recently that the school system in Newtown had hired armed guards for their schools. Nuff said IMO.
  16. You're right. He was an investment advisor. Clients included The Beave and Mrs. Billingsley.
  17. He makes good 'ol Lumpy look emaciated.
  18. Apologizes for being insensitive.
  19. Is Chechnyan
  20. Shaves his girlfriends's back
  21. Waxed his tongue
  22. Welcome, sir. And a sincere thanks for your service to our country.
  23. I have never joined in the social media stuff and think in the long run I'm better for for it. Some folks seem to not be able to live without it. I'm an info junkie but not when it comes to my info or learning about others.
  24. Welcome back!  Hope your convalescence continues on track.
