I wouldn't worry about it too much. Simply symbolism for the swearing in, even if they got it wrong. The agency bureaucracy will prevail. Few directors have been able to influence it although since he comes from the analytical side he will probably show some favoritism to them. He is a bureaucrat and I don't see him as an innovator or someone willing to break any glass. Time will tell.

Now as a "civilian", not a combatant, he has the right to remain silent. And he will except to publicly condemn our system, (initally via his court appointed, tax payer provided attorney) be it legal, moral, etc., for propaganda purposes. At least in Gitmo we would have been able to try to persuade him to provide us some info related to possible threats. Wait till the circus that will be his trial starts.   On the other hand, guess he's lucky he didn't get a drone supplied missile up his a$$. Bet he's now laughing same a$$ off....    When it went from GWOT (Global War on Terror) to Overseas Contingency Operations we should have seen this coming.

But there won't be any anti-guns laws passed with this House. That's why the 2014 midterms are so important, to keep the balance of power. Banning ammo under Executive Order is also highly unlikely since it is on the fringes of EO power, otherwise think he would have already tried it... part of that taking advantage of a crisis thing. But I admit these are tense times and, honestly, I don't have overwhelming confidence in conservative politicians to fully back 2nd amendment issues. The administration also seems behind that UN treaty that I don't think holds any water legally in the U.S. But their goal may be more long term, to chip away, but the longer it takes the less chance of them succeeding in their agenda, imho.

What is to be gained by this? Other than to pacify a few females who think they might qualify I don't see the advantage to our war fighting capability. The risks seem to heavily outweigh the potential gains.

Precisely. The media collusion with the Obama agenda is the main reason he was re-elected, imo, and why so many issues that don't agree with the liberal crowd never see the light of day.
