He is only doing what he has found he can get away with.  I don't like it but I also don't like the lack of challenge by the "opposition", that being the Republicans and the 4th Estate.

Something similar happened to me recently.... I just blew him a kiss and drove on.

  My comment was tongue in cheek but I haven't heard any serious talk in recent years although the subject does arise from time to time. The most recent mention was about five years ago IIRC.  Such compensation in the U.S. won't happen although some proponents occasionally test the "waters", if you know what I mean.

  Obama also refuses to negotiate in order to flex what little power he still has. He knows he is a lame duck and will have no further "legacy" legislation or major accomplishments. He has hung his hat on Obamacare and is all in to defend and promote it. Luckily for him he has Reid and the media helping him.   One last point regarding the shutdown, I recall that while the World War II memorial is a national monuent now it was built with private funds.

   Bersaguy - I hear what you are saying but what specific policy or strategy are they being asked to support? This didn't just start last month with the use of chemicals. I still cannot understand what our objective is --- tactically or strategically. The stakes are high here and our CINC doesnt seem to have a clue. (Ditto for Kerry.) This is a perfect example of Obama's ineptness, especially as it relates to the Mid East. He encouraged the Arab Spring and was way out front on wanting Mubarak and Qadaffi out, although leading from behind. Why has he been so lame on Syria? For him to now say he didn't draw a red line is simply disingenuous at best. And the Russians and Chinese certainly have no fear of him. But I agree with you that our politicians are weak and only seem to be politically motivated. God help us if something more serious happened that was a true imminent threat to our country.

When someone like that calls for me by name I just say, "He's in jail for telephone fraud."  They will not call you back.
