Lesson learned

Took the wife and daughters with me today on a trade mission. met up and did the trade at Sevier Indoor Range where the guy I was trading with was shooting to qualify fir his HCP. Now I have known Wayne nearly all my life, and consider him a friend, but I may have to retink that stance.

After completing the trade, took the family in to shoot a few rounds. While waiting to get a lane and targets, I notice Wayne has a big grin on his face and dollar signs in his eyes seeing me with the wife and twin daughters. Wayne then says, and I quote" Threasa let me show you what I just got in for Marilyn.(his wife)" He then produces a sig P238 in the absolutely pimptastic "rainbow Titanium" finish. Now myself being a member of the heman-woman hater club from wayback am not immediately impressed. I turn to the females of the family to say something to that effect and in unison I hear"Thats so CUTE!!!" Should have boddily removed them from the store at this ppoint, but thought it was a play on me, So quickwittedly I reply "Cute?? Guns aren't cute!"

after prying the thing from my wifes hand for the third time and nearly dragging them into the range, we shot for about an hour. As I started packing up I noticed the wife had left and the twins both watching through the window. I was literally THROWING 1911s, sigs, and S&Ws back in the range bag, ran out but it was too late. the background was already approved. Defeated, I looked at the wife , dug out the wallet, and handed them MY debit card.

I started SCUBA back in the 1980s when it was mostly guys. None of the color coordinated, decorative crap. If it worked, you were happy.

Now we got the women into the sport and everything has to be color coordinated in bright pastels.

Hey, at least she's getting her own. Mine keeps taking MY pistols.

"Yes Dear, I can pick up another Colt M1903, no problem... sigh..."

Yep, few months ago, my wife says , get me a P11 like "ours", hey don't make a prettier one? So I got her one, she's got her permit, so Sat. when I got home, she says, hey lets shoot some i need the practice. (be still my heart!) Then she informs me she wants a bigger "Holster Purse" so she can carry "our green one", (my G 19). LMAO, at least she hates my 442, but likes to shoot my 1911, but lucky for me she says It's too heavy for her to carry!!!!! Wow, that was a close one!!!! You know she's going to end up with that glock, oh well, they make more tupperware everyday.
