That person walking got jacked up...along with the motorcycle rider...along with the guy who hit the pole...along with the 2 firetrucks...moral of the story is people cannot drive and I'm kinda scared to drive home now. I bet all these people were driving Toyotas ;) . Thanks for the post!

Not sure what your title means in relation to the video, but some of those wee really hard to watch. especially the last one ..... WOW!. What some of those people were thinking is beyond me. Reminds me of how many idiots there are to look out for.

4:35 was one of the worst... and I'm pretty sure that motorcycle rider was jacked up!!

I ran a red-light once really bad.. Had a 91' 4Runner that was supposed to have ABS.. It was wet out and I locked up all 4 tires and slid about half way through the intersection. This was back when I just got my license, it was a good learning experience.

Since then I always slow down when going through an intersection, and if I'm at a light that turns green I always check both ways before moving.

The title is sarcastic, Smith.

Really just proof that those cameras don't prevent anything.

Doesn't prove or disprove anything.

It's just a video showing how dangerous red lights are.

For the record. If I am sitting at a red light and my children are in the car with me and my wife, one day, and I get rear-ended and you're exceeding the speed limit, I will sue the pants off of you.... And you, my speedy little friend, will be paying for my children's college...

It's video evidence there are a lot of stupid effing people out there. I wonder how many of those were drunk or texting/talking on cell phones. The bike ones are really hard to watch, except for the biker that ran the red light, he was an idiot.

I laughed at some (where it was obvious that the people weren't hurt, just stupid), but others made me angry (blatantly avoiding the red light, and knowing that they did it), while the morotcycle videos made me cringe, which is why I don't ride...

People need to just pay attention - seriously - it's not hard to do while DRIVING (which is what you should be doing, without fail).

The fact of the matter is that all this stuff is caused by one of several causes:

  • Willful disregard for traffic signals.
  • Inattention.
  • Idiocy (...which pop culture helps to facilitate and promote..).

In no case did a red lite camera prevent anything. IT DID RECORD the stupidity of the perpetrators. The Knoxville police department says it does.

Read here: Red-light cameras saving lives, police say

Check out the statistic of the 36 to 22 fatalities against thiis data lifted from another site (....Knoxville, Tennessee City Information - ePodunk....)

A total of 102 fatal motor vehicle accidents occurred in Knoxville between 2001 and 2003, according to reports gathered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

By my calculation (...102/3=34...). Based on these numbers, you can make a case that says that redlite cameras lower the death rates. If you look at overall traffic numbers by state, the statistics are all over the map. I think this the case with the city traffic numbers in general. One years high can be twice last years average. That being said; I think it is a stretch to proclaim that redlite cameras do anything other than provide a revenue stream to the lousy government that sets them up. Remember, figures dont lie; but all liars can figure.

Hope this stirs up a hornet's nest.
