DM Bullard Dual Carry Holster - FS M&P40

I just received the DM Bullard Dual Carry holster I ordered for my full size M&P40. I had been looking at both the Supertuck and MTAC, but I’m an old school leather kind of person. When I ordered it the lead time was 10-12 weeks. I saw that he is now up to 16-20 weeks. For reference the holster is meant to be worn in the 4:00-5:00 position. It comes standard with metal belt clips but can be ordered with leather loops if you wish. The style of the holster allows it to be used as an OWB and an IWB, either tucked or un-tucked, depending on the placement of the belt clips. I mainly intend on using it as an IWB since I already have an OWB that is a little less bulky. The M&P is not my EDC but I wanted a good IWB for certain carry situations.

The fit and finish quality of the holster is very nice. There is a stiffener band that makes one handed re-holstering very clean. In summary I’m a happy camper and it was worth the wait.

I wanted to order one for my new PM9 but the website said 16-20 weeks :hat: and I am not that patient

My TT Gunleather took six months.

Order a nice holster and forget about it for a while, use whatever you've been using, and it will come as a very nice surprise.

Everybody oughtta have at least one nice custom formed leather holster in their carry life.

How tight does this holster hold against you when worn OWB? Does it flop around due the type of attahment(clips) or is it as good as the threaded belt loops?

I'm not sure since I haven't tried it in that mode. Give me a day or so to try it and I'll post a reply.

I relocated the clips and it holds the holster relatively tight but not as tight or close as a traditional OWB. A couple of the things I noticed when trying it in the OWB mode. The holster rides lower than I would have liked. Due to the 4:00-5:00 position you lose the use of your strong side back pocket. The holster is more bulky than normal OWB's, and IWB's for that matter. See the pictures below.

In summary, I still like the holster but as I said earlier, my main reason for buying was to wear it as an IWB. As with most things that try to fill multiple roles, there are compromises with both. You make the choice as to what you want, a convertible holster or buying two holsters that are specifically designed for IWB or OWB.

I bought Mine on the High Praises oh OhShoot and took the advice and moved the clips as well. I am more than happy with my purchase I have one for my Springfield Xd Subcompact. I love it the best money I've spent. I think I'm going to order my mom one for her Birthday. Already Bought her a class for her hcp. hopefully it will be a great surprise.
