"The Beast"

Just recently got the paperwork back to make this, and my dad immediately dubbed it the beast the first time we shot it :). Its an old springfield arms 20ga double, been cut down to 10" barrels, and 18" overall. Before anyone asks if you can hit anything with it with 10 inch barrels you hit EVERYTHING with it, lol.

I want one!

Lol, actually wasn't that bad to do. Paid something like $150 for the shotgun, and $200 for the transfer so I'm into it total about what a new coach gun would cost. Well, and a lot more time...

Are you gonna round out the cut-off behind the grip any more? I would, personally, but that's just me. Make it look a little more like this:

I hope one day to have the financial freedom to have/make these types of guns. Very nice.

I think I'm gonna leave it like it is. I have a witness protection with the "chicken head" grip I had custom made for it (the ones on the market are like $150 and synthetic, thats just wrong), and this seems to be a bit more controllable. Gives you something to hold onto and to set against your hip if you feel the need.

That's cool. I made the one in pictured above out of a spare wood butt stock that I had laying around. I didn't have any black paint at the time, so I used a section of bicycle inner-tube. I really do like the "Beast", though.

I took the bottom half of it to the engraver, and after I packed it up I looked over at my dad who happened to be there and said "thats right, I just put my shotgun in a pistol case" lol

dude...my AOW is jealous...that thing just looks evil....you outta get some 20ga mini shells....they should keep the recoil manageable while still tearing sh*t up.

Hmm, never thought of that I've only seen the mini's in 12 ga. The recoil isn't really terrible on it, which is why I made a 20ga while everyone was screaming 12ga! Its a handful, but its nothing that isn't manageable, its actually pretty fun to shoot. Kind of like shooting a .44 from the hip, except its a lot easier to hold onto without getting a sharp edge to the hand than most pistols.
