Good God, who is disputing their right to say anything?[/quote]
Go back and look at the second group of four or five posts. I forget the exact wording but they basically called them idiots. That is not only not a useful point but inflammatory. What is behind that an how does it help or hurt us? Seems to me that it is pretty clear that some folks think if you express an opinion contrary to theirs that you are an idiot.

Just pointing out that while I am not so sure it is a great idea or not, it's their right and folks shouldn't be insulting about it. That leads down the road of not just chilling speech but worse things. Edited by Paladin132

Reading everyday that business owners are having to make tough decisions of cutting employee hours and even laying off employees because of Obama's economic policies and unions forcing some businesses to shut down. We are witnessing the economy collapsing before our own eyes and nobody even believes it. They vote for more of the same economic detroying policies of the last four years.

This gun shop owner is not an idiot for displaying a sign for what he really believes in. If it hurts him in the wallet, then he will suffer the repercussions of posting his beliefs. It may boost his business and maybe wake up people to the demise of our country at the same time. This man has balls for speaking up for what he believes, something many Americans lost many years ago due to apathy for their country. The house is burning down and people don't want to call 911. Calling this man an idiot is really ironic. Edited by ThePunisher

Seems like a pretty poor business decision to me. Especially when you consider the fact that the probably the biggest reason another AWB probably won't fly is that are Democrats in rural states that will not support it. 2A issues are often just as much regional as they are "party-line". Just look at NC (Heath Shuler) or AZ and you'll find 2nd Amendment friendly Democrats. Look at the Northeast and you'll find Republicans who favor gun control (Chris Christie anyone?). I think it would be a lot more persuasive to let his customers know that the politicians they support could have an impact on what the items they might be able to purchase in his store. That's the great thing about America though, it is his business and he can run it how he sees fit.

I doubt that he loses much business, if any.

If I sold Twinkies... no, bad example. If I sold coal furnaces and coal... oops, 'nother bad example. Ok, ok. If I sold big screen HDTVs and beer, I would consider that a bad business move. But not a gun store.

Honestly, I would not sell a gun or ammo to an Obama voter, either. They have clearly demonstrated a considerable lack of judgement. Edited by Clod Stomper

They're actually Reagan/Bush phones, LifeLine program began under Reagan, cellular part began under Dubya.

Yeah, I guess Reagan had to compromise with old Tip to get his tax cuts passed. I bet there have been more Obamaphones given away than Reagan or Dubya phones.
And I guess it wouldn't have been a good business decision to post that sign in a grocery store that accepts food stamps. Edited by ThePunisher

My brother is a huge Obama supporter. He is politically a 60's hippie that has never grown up. Now he wants my help in getting a pistol and carry permit. I told him we better hurry before Obama makes it impossible and he just looked at me dumbfounded. We don't discuss politics much.

Patriotism has nothing to do with political affiliation. Serving your country, recognizing the rights of others and obeying the law show patriotism. No, I am not a liberal and no I am not a Democrat. I am a thirty year retired USMC MGySgt, a Vietnam War veteran (4 tours "in country") and was a Republican for over forty years. I am now an Independent as I will not wear a brown shirt and red armband and worship a Republican King and his court, nor will I allow a Socialist Democratic Party to dictate to me how to live. We are right now at the same point Germany was in 1934: only two choices and both of them are bad.I don't Identify with either party, I identify as being an American, and I have earned the right to call myself that by service to my nation, not by party affiliation.

The store owner had the right to do what he did but he would never get my business. He was a good Republican but a lousy American.

Maybe the gun shop owner was a patriot that recognized that there is a communist sitting in the oval office. I believe that anyone that can recognize communism in our government and wants to nip it in the bud before its too late is a great American. After all, our country has spent money, sweat, blood and tears fighting communism for seventy years or longer. Just because Americans refuse to believe there is a Marxist/commie in the WH doesn't mean it's not so.
