I posted this last year asking for repair advice. Posted Image
I finally got around to finishing this guy. The handle is made from maple that I cut myself. The picture is actually taken in front of the stump of the old tree.I like the way it turned out. I'll probably carry this on my outings in the woods.the sheath was made by the guy who gave me the knife. It is super thick leather and will probably last forever.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Don't Buck knives have a lifetime warranty? Couldn't you have just sent it back to them?

124 Frontiersman is discontinued. They did put out a limited "Heritage" edition though, and you can still find them for sale:

(this includes both original and Heritage, note diff in pricing)

But no longer listed on Buck's site. They might actually have some laying around though, but if not, the best they could offer would be some replacement at same value. Dunno how the "same value" works though, since an original Frontiersman has gone way up to collectors.

I don't remember from other thread, UncleJak, did you ask them about it?

I found an older 124 at a pawn shop last year that looked like it had been dragged behind a truck on a gravel road for 5 miles.Blade scratched all to hell, gouges in the guard, scales and pommel.....long story short I sent it to Buck and 3 weeks later I got back a knife that looked almost brand new.All the scratches on the blade and scales were polished out and the only trace of a ding was one on the pommel that you had to really look for to see.
