Did anyone watch last night?  I think Jonathan Banks won an Emmy with that performance.  That was as good as any episode of Breaking Bad.  Gut-wrenching.  

 

Spin-offs normally suck.  This one is going to work.

I think some of the lure is that we have attachments to the characters from BB and long for more of the story. That's what I enjoy anyway.

It's very slow burn so far. Which is something I can enjoy. I've just seen a couple of shows get cancelled because they took a while to get going so it makes me a bit nervous.

AMC will give Gilligan time to work.  It took a while for BB to get there...that is why cable TV is consistently better than network, IMO.  On the broadcast networks, if a show has more than a few occasional weeks of low ratings it will get cancelled.  On cable, they are willing to endure some bad rating cycles to build greater interest later.

To be fair, I hadn't seen this week's episode when I wrote that. Definitely starting to get the punches in.
