  1. I got you. I may need a better bullet. If I remember correctly the problems I was having was a Rem Core lock. Entry and exit wounds the same size and lung shots that would run forever. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. My wife and her brother got out and shot the mosins yesterday while I was at work, so I cleaned them while watching the show last night. It was great. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. You are doing it right. A lifestyle change is the only way to lose weight and keep it off. Diets don't work. Lifestyle changes do. Good job and good luck. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. When you sign up there is a hobbies and interest section that makes it easier to know who you are shopping for. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Not necessarily the most expensive. Resident sportsman in Tx when I was there was only $68. This you got 5 deer, 2 turkeys( 3 if one was rio grande) all the rabbits, squirrel and dove you wanted. You had to report the dove killed when purchasing next years License. It was cheaper but you got a lot less. For meat, which is what I hunt. Young does are what I kill the most of. Tx you got 2doe tags, 2 either sex, tags and 1buck only tag. I think we have it better hear guys. Especially for those feeding a family with game year round. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Great info for end of the world. Shoot a wax slug at a gallon paint can(empty) at 30 yards and see what happens. It is crazy. One entry and a bunch of exits. I never thought about using one in a muzzle loader though. Really cool article. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I found hunting out in Tx with wide open range. If you know you hit them and they get up and run off. Don't start tracking for at least an hour if daylight permits. They will usually lay down and bleed out if you don't press them. I hate losing a deer more than missing. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That is great. Might buy one for me. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I have found that my 3030 inside of 50 yards doesn't drop them. It killed them but I have had to do some tracking in the past. During these scenarios I was shooting a 150 grain soft point that didn't lose enough speed to tumble. Those were perfect from 100-200 yards. I have switched to a 170 grain core lock since moving back to TN and mostly wood hunt with a max of 150 yards shot. I hope this will solve this problem. I plan on reloading 3030 next year and may work on some light loads that will tumble on impact at 50-75 yards if the heavier bullets don't work better. Gun is a model 94 Winchester if anyone has experimented with this, starting points could help. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Welcome. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I am in. This has been way to much fun in the past. My third year as well. Too much fun to miss. Look forward to it. Remember everyone update your profiles to make shopping a little easier. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That is how the game is played. You can say anything as governor as long as you have the friends in state house and senate that will keep the things you don't want to address off your desk. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Sorry. Auto correct on a stupid phone. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Has anyone here tried to shoot the cork out of a pigs a$$ at 300 yards. That was great. Hope it makes it mainstream. Wishful thinking. Honestly, guys like that(us) are what makes this country great. GBA JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. My big fear is that the Rep. will squander this advantage. Do nothing good in the next two years and the swingers will flip back to the other side of the fence and we will be screwed in 2016. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I spent 15 years in the dodge parts business. Parts manager at a dodge dealer. Cummings is the way to go. I have had many a customer come in to order suspension parts for their 10 year old Cummings with 400000+ miles on it. These were heavy work trucks in the boring and trenching business. The 24 valve Cummings through the early 2000s had some injection pump issues(change fuel filter regularly) and don't run farm diesel. I have heard great things about the 7.3 ford, but stay away from the 6.0. My FIL whose dad retired from Ford after 52 years and he has a 6.0. Had to have a complete rebuild in the first 2 years. Seems to be a solid truck since then but he doesn't drive it daily. Only uses when he needs a heavy truck. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. This is a good reason not to leave powder in the measurer too. A friend of a friend of mine was loading 45 acp and left his powder in the measurer one night. His brother comes over to load some .308 and didn't notice the small amount of pistol powder in the dispenser dumped his powder in and loaded his .308. Blew up a FAL with the first shot. Luckily cuts and scrapes and a few stitches. Put everything away and clean between each loading run. One slip up can be deadly/costly. This happened a few years ago when I first started reloading and I will never forget the look on the guy's face at the time he told the story. Double check everything. 18. One of my good friends shoots artillery. He went to Gettysburg for his first reenactment this past year for his 40th birthday. He said it was great. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Michigan has that and it makes it nice for there residents. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. When I first became diabetic,30+ years ago, my mom found some sugar free peanut butter toffee that you see every Halloween and got a bag for me because sugar free candy wasn't as common as it is today and there wasn't much to choose from. Lesson learned very quickly never eat more than one or two pieces a day. Really bad stuff. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Talking dead "Raised by Hershal, Trained by Darryll, the new Beth Greene. " Episode sucked. It is fixing to be really crazy. Guessing carol got "saved" on purpose while Daryll goes to get help. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. The problem with this is insurance. Do you think most employers really care if you have a weapon while at work. No, not as long as it doesn't interfere with your job. They do care that their liability insurance would be quadruple if you were allowed to carry. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Yeah. I figured there was more to it than that. We are not seeing the whole video. Plus dude needs to grow a set. If you run from a tree like that what if there is real danger. Trees fall relatively slow and you can get out of the way pretty easily. If the shooter had went oh sh/+ and stepped about ten feet back ok but running away screaming like a girl come on. 24. The swinging plates can be very dangerous. I guy I work with got hit by an ak ricochet trying to double tap a 100 yard swinging plate. Luckily the round had lost most of its velocity and only tore his jacket and left a good bruise. New rule: no double taps on swinging steel plates. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Don't discount the years later reimbursement of the deductible. My dad got a check last month for money recouped from a wreck he had 18 years ago. It was his deductible plus interest for the last 18 years. Came up to about $1800. I don't remember all the details but he didn't try and recover anything, just wrote the deductible off as a loss. Got a check last month with an explanation and a thank you for being a good customer. Live right and karma can come in your favor. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
