  1.     I ended up buying one of these.  I found a gen2 model at a LGS for $220.  I had a few malfunctions during the first 50 rounds, but since then it's been great.  The sights are good and I'm actually quite accurate with it at 7yds.  Trigger is better than an LCP in my opinion.    Good weapon for those in the market.
  2. If you like wearing gloves, you owe it to yourself to look at these:  http://www.skdtac.com/PIG-Full-Dexterity-Tactical-FDT-Alpha-Glove-p/pig.700.htm   Awesome gloves and they are on sale right now.
  3.   If you aren't great with numbers, Mil is even better.  They are usually in .1 increments, so you just go ten clicks to move 1 mil....very easy.    Fwiw, SWFA has MOA models but they are fixed power.  Sounds like you want variable, so it would be mil.  In the higher power scopes, you can get a mildot or mil quad reticle.  I have a 5-20 with mil quad reticle and really like it.    Do some reading on MOA vs Mil and first vs. second focal plane.  You will find that most precision shooters prefer mil/mil first focal plane setups.
  4. OP, we really need to know your budget in order to provide better direction.   Shooting out to 1k on a budget?  Hell, a 12x, 16x, or 20x SWFA fixed power will do fine at around $300.  You want rugged?  I've got one on a 50bmg and it does just fine.    If you want a variable, then the previous posters have made some good suggestions.  I'd also take a look at the SWFA 5-20.  It's a fantastic scope at a reasonable price.  Viper PST, Razor (gen 1 or 2), burris XTR, bushnell elite are all good options.  It boils down to what reticle you like, your budget, and the features you want.    I'd definitely get a first focal plane and I don't believe that has been mentioned yet.  Also match your reticle and turrets....I recommend mil/mil.  You may already know all that, but there it is anyway.
  5.   Magwell option is another 60-75...don't recall the exact number.  Either way, it appears to be a great lower cost option and I plan to get one when they are available in different colors.  Midway had the black ones in stock for a day or so before they sold out.
  6. I'll second the Lancer recommendation.  They work great with 300blk.  220gr subs, 110gr supers....doesn't matter.  They all feed 100%.
  7.     Understandable.  I'd just call em up and try to get an estimated turnaround.    Or you could just dump about 5 mags and burn some more of the finish off
  8. Hell, most of mine look worse than that. Up to you, but I'd just throw some spray paint on it.

Mine wouldn't adjust below 3.5 pounds.   The Hogue stock is definitely not free floated.  As soon as you put a bipod on it, it flexes and touches.   It really depends on your intended use.  Hunting at ranges <250yds?  Sure, leave it stock.  Shooting groups out to 600yds?  You will want to upgrade it.
  10.     So just the finished is messed up?  Not worth sending it in.....   Just use some BBQ spray paint and call it a day.  If you run a suppressor very hard at all, the finish will wear.  Never dealt with their repair dept, but I'm sure it wouldn't take that long.
  11.     I was going to say this.    I use adjustable gas blocks and haven't noticed any staining.  Yes, they do get extremely dirty but it comes clean with an hour in the tumbler.

      9) barrel threading 10) suppressor   Anything else?     Nice gift.  Your wife must love you.
  13. Works great on hogs.  I'm using an 8.5" Rainier barrel suppressed with 110gr vmax bullets and it is perfect for hog hunting.
  14. You may also take a look at Primary Arms lights.  I've got their gen 1 and gen 2 and both are solid.  The gen 1 is 420 lumens and the gen 2 is 750, I believe.  Both are very bright.

    Stripped frame

It is a lot of fun and rewarding, but not cost effective.  Hand checkering the grip is a royal pain!  You can order from fusion and have the barrel/link fit for you which makes things easier.
  16.     He can't prove otherwise.  Honor system.     Good for him.  If I was in the area, I'd go support him.
  17. I've got a Hornady LnL and have been very pleased with it.  I started out with a Lee pro 1000 and recommend against it.  I produced a lot of ammo with it but is super finicky and you will be tinkering with it during every loading session.  The LnL is a FAR superior machine.     I caught mine on sale at Midway for around $400 I believe.  Well worth the money and it will serve you well.  I have broken a part or two which was my fault and Hornady CS sent out replacements free of charge.  I specifically told them it was my fault and they sent it out for free next day anyway.
  18. Simple fix.  I wouldn't even bother with sending it back, however I understand your frustration.
  19.     Interesting.  I've thought about these and found them at Buds for less than 200 bucks.  I seem to remember some mixed reviews a while back but don't recall what the issues were.  Maybe +P ammo blowing them up or something?
  20.     Pretty cool, but you need an SOT for that MG.  In other words, not a transferable to individuals.
  21. How much case support does the barrel offer?  Any different than a G20?   I'm a little cautious of shooting full power loads through a Glock barrel.
  22. I use Longshot for full house stuff.  Pushes 180gr to almost 1400fps out of a 6" barrel.  Works great.
  23.     I would prefer that as well, but not everyone has access to a lathe.   I'm with you, just about everything I shoot has a suppressor on the end.  I've found shooting a rifle without one now is very annoying.
  24.   Valve stem retainers.   You could take a look at the new AAC illusion which is offset and allows the use of stock sights.  I believe the new SF Ryder also does not interfere with sight picture.  Both can be disassembled for cleaning.   I personally just sight through the can with both an octane and a tirant.   I will, however, take a look at those new XS sights.
