  1. Very, very well said. Bravo.   Would you mind if I printed that (sans your name of course) to show to some of my friends?
  2. I like them. What is the story on W1 steel? I have never heard of that.
  3. I registered. I don't have a glock but I don't have anything against them just like the feel of my M&P better.   I went with SandWMandP9c as my screen name. I hope they don't mind. :D
  4. I wonder if this is more popular with women??
  5. I think all of them are incredible. I can tell for sure that if printed on shirts, you will sell at least six. One of them needs to be a XXL :D
  6. I was at one time heavily into airguns. I still mess with them a bit. There is a learning curve to shooting a spring powered air rifle. each has it's own hold and very delicate trigger pull that must be learned to achieve consistant accuracy. Once this is done they are lethal on small game and will make you a much better shot. If you can get one of the nitro piston rifles the learning is much easier and they are much easier to cock and can be left sharged without loss of power. Beaman and Bennjamin are good brands and you will find that most of the ones with the brand names of powder burners are for the most part re=badged crossman's, which can be a good thing. The major drawback is weight. My Beaman RS2 in .22 is as heavy as my AR. For this reason it may make more sense to go with the powder burner and subsonic ammo if you are worried about to much noise.
  7. This has been a great read. I think I will pull my bag out tomorow and do some updating. I am having trouble finding a 32oz-ish stainless steel container that is packable to boil water in. I also want to add a head lamp now.
  8. You guys are about to starve me to death :yum:
  9. Very nice, Like you and Spots, I strive to make them all perfect, and can't seem to please myself. When I look at some of the work that the two of you guys do though, i realize that when people tell me that mine look great, they mean it and are not just being nice. The maker seems to always see flaws that no one else will.   That is really one to be proud of. Just like I told Spots, I love a small hefty knife that looks like it is made to use, and I love that knife.
  10. Apparently its is different for his kids.......   http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/gregory-mocks-lapierre-proposing-armed-guards-sends-kids-high-security-school_691057.html
  11. I guess I am very lucky. Like so many others my wife and GF (one in the same), loves to shoot with me. She likes the pistols more than the rifles, She does love to run through a mag with the .22 bolt in the AR. She will load and go to the range on days I want to lay around and nap. An ourdoor range at that, Posted 23 December 2012 - 08:37 PM npgunner, on 23 Dec 2012 - 18:39, said: When you get that trick going there are a few us that just might pay you to tell us the trick! Usually at the end of the trip her adrenalin is up and her heart is racing she has a big smile on face. It seems she will almost always offer to clean my gun, sometimes even give it a spit-shine, never my rifles or the pistols though......... :pleased:
  12. If you go to the Nashville flea market, there is an Amish guy there who can turn just about anything into a surgical instrument.
  13. How did you do this? I have been checking there about every two days and they say they have none and are expecting none. The shelves have been empty.
  14. Brasilnuts, I hate that happened to your family, but it brought a huge laugh to mine, Thanks.   We always have my side of the family at our house, We eat, drink, laugh a lot and cry a little. We remember the ones we have lost, and celebrate the ones we have gained. I found myself overwhelmed tonight watching my son hold his new son (8 mos) and help him open his first gifts as his wife smiled and laughed with us. I am not ashamed to say I had to step  away to shed a tear. I have watched my mother become the face I remember my grandmother having and my sisters become my mothers face. Tonight I heard them laugh as they noticed me turning into our grandfather holding me as an infant. I am so blessed to have such a good family, a wonderful and loving wife and beautiful children. In the morning we will see what Santa brought, go to Mrs, gunwhatgun's family's house and so the samething again. I try to think God everyday for the blessings we have and remember why we have them, He always reminds me the most on These two days, how dear our children are to us.
  15. I understand a lot of the events going on now. I was about 20 or 21 when the first AWB came about, and remember guys going out and paying what seeamed crazy prices then. I remember when the SKS was the Mossin Nagant of the day. You could get them all day long for 99 bucks. I remember guys talking about what they paid for AR's, and I know the price after the AWB expired may have dropped some but not back to what some folks would call "normal". I feel, that is because we demonstrated that those prices were acceptable. Again, we seem to be our own worst enemy.   Now, all that being said, here is what has me completely bum-fuzzled. Why all the rush on .22????? I mean WTF???? I went to get some for Christmas gifts for a couple of guys in my family and there were none to be found. REALLY??? Is there something I am missing here?? This is .22, is there a mass influx of terrorist squirrels I don;t know about? Or a rising horde of soda cans that we as concerned citizens must be prepared to deal with??
  16. O.K. first, how the hell do you get shit in a sock? Secondly, how hell bent on degrading someone do you have to be to conceive a plan and then execute said plan to get shit in a sock to (wait for it) ass-ault someone with it?
  17. I commend you on using the purple heart. I just made one with a purple heart handle, and that stuff is a bear to work. It is truly a hardwood. Those look really great, I'm sure the new owner will be very happy.
  18. They can be tough to find. Did you try D&T?
  19. That is f***ing outstanding!! :usa:
  20. Does it have any production markings on it? Noticing the round almost broomstick style handle adn rectangular brass guard, you may have a fantastic heirloom to pass to your son. It has a hand made look to it. That would be awesome for your son to get to use the knife his great grandfather made.
  21. Congratualations dude!. I have been there in the past and know how stressfull the lack of emopyment can be. You seem to already understand that good things do come from hard work, maybe not easy, but very well deserved.
  22.  I really like that. I also noticed that it looks purple in the first pic and then kind of green. I wish I had the skills to do something like that, I hate to be cold LOL
