  1. They are definately cool, but their PR and marketing sucks. Seals get way better movies and recently better icons. John Wayne was a bad ass, but he never used the term sexual tyrannosaurus. How are you gonna compete with that?
  2. Right on. That will help to put my wife's mind at ease. Thanks for the reply.
  3. Thanks for the good words. The wife is worried it is going to be full of super duper ninja Navy SEAL shooters. I'm guessing it will not.
  4. Do the sights have adjustment screws? They would look like small flathead screws. If not the sights are probably mounted in a dovetail cut and can be drifted left or right with a sight tool or punch.
  5. Has anyone taken a class from Sage Dynamics?  Their training calendar shows a Defensive Handgun Fundamentals course on the 12th of March that I'm thinking about signing up my wife and myself for.  She is comfortable with guns, but has never had formal training.  I carry everyday and would consider myself an intermediate shooter.     Just wondering if anyone has taken this course or any course from this company.
  6. http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/HotcakesStore/ProductViewer/tabid/113/slug/Purse-Defender/Default.aspx When my next G19 shows up the wife will be carrying it in one of these.
  7. Just means people will buy guns and ammo outside the city. Too bad for the in city businessman.
  8. Road flares aren't a constitutional right. Gun ownership is. Education doesn't have to be PC.
  9. RMR Stipple Grip reduction Undercut Grip plug to contain spare battery and allen wrench Surefire flashlight Bigger magazine release Test fire with both carry magazines
  10. I had one source tactical mill both of my slides and each is perfect. Fast turn around too.
  11. I agree that you need a lot of magazines.  I probably have too many at the expense of the rest of my gear.  They are likely not going to loose much value though.  I have 25 AR mags painted orange set aside just for training.  Plus 10 in my go bag for work.  Plus one of nearly every type I can find for testing my lowers.  Plus a reserve of unused in the wrapper mags that I'd estimate at 50ish.  Plus 7 loaded with home defense ammo on my battle belt.  On the plus side they trade very well if they are new and I vividly remember how "high cap" 10/22 magazines values skyrocketed during the AWB.     Glock magazines are the same way in my house.  3 dedicated carry magazines.  2 factory training magazines.  2 happy sticks.  Multiple new in wrapper G17 and G19 magazines.  4 GL9 magazines.  I am scarred to think that if I really look I would find more.  And yet I often buy more on a whim.  It's a sickness.
  12. 2x4s plus brackets that are readily available at Lowes is a very simple and cost effective measure.  I have mine for similar reasons, I know they won't stop a committed intruder, but they will create time and noise.  A wedge type device is very easy to carry with when you travel.
  13. For what it's worth I deprime prior to tumbling as well as hand prime. I'm not really finding a lot of pins in my cookie trays after drying. Getting the water, brass, and pin mixture separated is thus far proving to be the pain. Here is my process and you can tell me what I'm doing wrong.     After tumbling is complete I pull a side off the drum and install a folded tee shirt with magnets inside that is held in place with a hose clamp. I then dump as much water out as possible.  The brass and pins are still contained within the drum with a minimal amount of water. From here I dump the mixed brass and pins into a plastic tray used for mixing concrete and use a magnet to sort out the pins. My current magnet is very small and takes a probably 15 minutes.  Once the brass is mostly free of pins I put the brass on cookie trays to dry in the oven set at 170 for about 15 minutes.       Am I going about this all wrong?
  14. Update. I've done two loads of brass and this is a huge pain in the rear. I've got a transfer magnet on the way and if that doesn't work for me I'll order a rotary seperator.
  15. The price on wet tumbling finally got low enough for me to justify it. I've never used one and I see three methods for separating the pins from the brass 1). Magnet 2). Rotary seperator 3). Colander and sieve What have you found to be the best?
  16. That sounds great.  Post an update or a review when you get some real world testing with it please!
  17. Gun fghts happen very fast + most people are too consumed with their phones to notice something is happening + very few people actually carry a gun = not a concern of getting shot. Mass shooting / active shooter(s) tactics require you to seek cover and escape the situation. Let the team of good guys take the bad guy out. The exception is when the active shooter walks in your room and starts killing people. That is the point in time when you have positively ID'd the shooter and are in a position to fight.
  18. Beslan was a slightly different situation (still makes me cringe thinking about it) and not completely inline with the current TTPs of ISIS, but I could still see something similar happening in the states.  CCW teachers don't stand a chance.  I still support teachers (really anyone) carrying as much as possible.     Per Al Jazeera America   "Boko Haram has been blamed for scores of attacks on schools and universities in an insurgency that has killed at least 17,000 people since 2009. The armed group made international headlines in April 2014 when its members kidnapped 276 schoolgirls from a school in Chibok, a town in Borno State, Nigeria. Fifty-three of the school girls escaped but the rest remain missing."
  19. Thanks. Bison Tactical has them at a good discount right now. My CED M2 is okay, but a pain and I wished I had known more about the product before I bought it. Sounds like the V3 is more what I want.
  20. Does anyone here have a Magnetospeed V3? If so what accessories are helpful In your experience? Extra batteries, longer cord, better case...?
  21. Keep your eye out for good deals on Vortex Razor 5-20x50.  Should be able to find one in the 1400ish range if you are patient.  It is a good scope for the money.
  22. That's a great question.  I wonder if the engraving would be a pain due to the polymer receiver.  Andrews Tactical Firearms in Clarksville might be able to do it.
