  1. When you just have to put twice as much lead in the target. Also a unique attempt at a double stack .45 1911.
  2. Got a chance to use a Mossberg .17 tonight on a hunt. I've been looking at a .17 caliber recently but had never gotten to fire one before today. If I can find one at a good price I think I'll pick one up. Any comments/advice (for or against)?
  3. That was my first thought when you brought that. He's a tough, revengeful, and really pissed off guy if that's the way it goes.
  4. Building things like a tank is one of the few things the Russians do well, with the exception of putting the fuel tanks on the outside of the tank...
  5. I never went for it. Knew it was a horrible idea but the guy trying to trade me didn't think so. Funny part is I got another e-mail a month later when I put the listing back up and he had changed his story yet again. This time it had something that involved a Navy Seal, unfortunately I deleted it and forgot what he said.
  6. Mousetrap picture is excellent (The movie picture).
  7. Personally I would go with a entry level Spikes. I build mine with spikes parts and have had no problems whatsoever out of it. Dolomite is completely correct with statements saying producers plant seeds, the show would be boring if there weren't any fights/arguments. I'm not a huge fan of the show because they make too much of a deal out of the small things and act like they are the only ones who can do what they can do. This seemed really true with the piston driven ar for the nuclear facilities. They made it sound like using a piston driven system was some kind of brand-new idea that only they had thought of. Having said that though I'm pretty sure the show is geared toward audiences who aren't as familiar with firearms.
  8. I had a friend who dropped a deer with one, given he did shoot it in the throat from about 20 yards or so. Good for coyotes, used one tonight along with my ar.
  9. Hmm I'm really considering this...
  10. Guess I'll be removing the quad rail then, that's going to be a pain.
  11. Agreed, it has been a journey. In a good way, no offense meant.
  12. Yeah, what is his back story? There has never been any indication of it.
  13. Not to hijack this thread but I got some surface rust on my AR barrel after leaving it in storage for a while. It has a quad rail on it that I really don't want to take off to remove the rust, with the electrolysis can I just dunk the entire thing and be ok? Or should I just remove the rail and wipe it off?
  14. Not cool to leave that one revolver by itself...
  15. I like the Spyderco brand, but I don't like not having thumb studs, and I really don't want to put "street studs" on it. Least that's what I've heard them called, where you put a ziptie and clip it on the back part of the circle. I like your last ditch OhShoot, I carry a Kbar LDK. I have gotten a ton of use out of that little thing. It's also really flat so I can carry several places without it printing or sticking out too much.
  16. I would be interested as well.
  17. I might have to run out to SMKW one night and look at what's out there as well as Greene's. The assisted opening I like, or rather have grown very used to.
  18. Mosin Nagant anyone? When you run outta ammo that bayonet could come in mighty handy... I don't know about you but I've had some hogs charge me and they weren't kidding around, I'm pretty sure they will attack and kill you if given the chance.
  19. Not to step in the middle of the conversation, but you both have good points. Honestly I'm not up for just killing him outright, get some information out of him first, such as where the other group is located. He made the mistake though of saying he knew Maggie, which could imply that he at least has an idea where the farm is. Dropping him off is a little more humane but could possibly compromise the group if he linked back up with his people. So for that I would consider eliminating a threat. On the opposite side of the spectrum though he could be useful to Rick and all of them, who knows, maybe is just trying to survive. In this situation though there isn't really a good solution. You want to be humane but that could mean risking your hide. They need to assess the threat though and decide what to do from there. Or you know bargain him for food/ammo/supplies.
  20. Rocky Top Armory in Seymour. Chris the owner is a great guy and funny, tries to keep his prices and fees as low as possible.
  21. I've had that happen on several occasions.
  22. My name is George Johnson as the username suggests, and I'm usually in Knoxville. Occasionally I'm up in Monteagle though. Don't really have much of a gun collection but I'm working on it. Grew up shooting and still trying to but school does get in the way, unfortunately.
  23. No I really don't have any problems with big pocket knives. I carried a Hammond Cruiser for a bit but liked the Sog because it was a tad thinner.
  24. Hmm choices, choices. I was thinking a Sog Flash, or something Benchmade. Not a huge fan of the Spyderco knives. Any other ideas?
  25. My Sog Trident has done me well over the past couple years, but it's time for a change. What opinions are out there as far as folders go?
