  1. I have courage enough now to say...."Safety Dance".
  2. Wasn't planning on going today but I did. Fairly crowded. If anyone is in the market for a Smith 442/642 one dealer has them for $369. NEW. No dealers had an LC9 on the table which is the only reason I went but some guy walking around had one he just bought from someone else. He was kind enough to let me look at it. I will have one.
  3. I'm kinda digging that grip pattern.

I would like to hear more on this. Please explain.
  5. The brand of ammo is irrelevant. How do you plan to store your cache?
  6. Have you studied for the test? I didn't know they offered concealed carry classes in Tennessee. Good luck!
  7. I am highly irritated right now 'cause I just went to the local Kroger's and avoided the little urchins on the way in but had every intention of buying a box or three of Thins Mints on the way out. Was in such a hurry to leave I forgot the cookies!
  8. I have this....UTG Deluxe Brass Catcher AR-15 Nylon Mesh Black - MidwayUSA but have never used it since right after buying I decided to save the good stuff for later. Steel-cased ammo is like 16 cents/round and it's not gonna hurt anything.
  9. 13 Posts in 13 different threads today and all are down on Bill's Outpost. WTF?

The founding fathers really have nothing to do with it. Prior to say WWII, most Americans did live in fairly centralized areas. The subdivision and commuting boom started in the 50's based on cheap oil and gasoline and has exploded to the point that now, as a nation, we are in for some dark times when it comes to energy. Our entire economy is based on oil, from heating in the North to driving 20 miles one-way to work everyday everywhere else, from the plastic bottles people insist on drinking water out of to the plastic bags they carry stuff home from the store in. This nation has failed to embrace new technology and perfect it. Our answer has always been to search for more non-renewable energy sources, regardless of the environmental impact. Cheaper alternatives would exist if the businesses that hold the fate of our economy, out mere existance would not only invest in them, but start using them. We hear about all this "well, if the libs and EPA would just let us drill in (fill in the blank).... or we need to strip mountain tops for cheap coal...or, or, or. Personally, I do not want to live in a wasteland just to satisfy out greedy needs or see future generations living in a desert. Fossil-based resources on this planet are a finite commodity. They aren't making any more. /Rant

I have seen and held one. There is a vendor at the Knoxville Gun Shows that always has one (it will probably be there again this weekend). I find the gun strange and confusing. Butt-ugly too.
  13. If you just want a base to learn and experiment with get a Rock Island or American Classic and start adding new parts. It may seem like putting lipstick on a pig but it is a solid gun with an excellent reputation and there is no point in spending anymore on a base model just to add a bunch of extra stuff to. Especially if new to the game.
  14. This has Dolomite Supafly written all over it. Maybe he'll chime in at some point. Good luck with the project.
  15. Thin mints all the way.
  16. This. Truly a sad, sad story but carelessness lead to this.

Hickok45 has a little something to say about it....
  18. This should make for a lively Tuesday evening.
  19. Oddly, the Sears website has a schematic and number to call for parts availability. It's a stretch as Sears stopped selling guns long before the Internet AFAIK but seeing this, you never know. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Sears-Parts/Gun-Parts/Model-273515020/0934/1310000/00029195/00001
  20. How many solicitations for money where in that? I couldn't keep track. That State Department stopped the importation of the "Korean" M1's. There is still some debate as to actually owns the rifles. Did the Koreans buy the rifles during the 50's or where they part of MAP, in which case WE still own them and CMP would eventually end up with them. Everything needed to know is on the CMP forum.
  21. You certainly can a rifle. Don't know that a handgun is any different.
  22. The only thing that matters is if you are happy with it.
  23. I am not a lady, but your son is a guy, so I'm gonna put in my suggestion. Perhaps a Hunter's Education Course is in order? Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency- Hunter Education
  24. Well ! I just got burned.
