  1. I think the only thing you can do with those older Mini-14s is trade them in for an AR or a Saiga.  OS swears the new ones are much better now, but I'll just take his word for it.  I doubt I will ever buy another one.  Two was enough for me.
  2. Moped

    $3500 AK! GOUGING!

I will continue to bang away as often as you pull the trgger!  No reloading!!! :)
  3. A fool and their money...
  4. My personal hope is that most gun owners in NY will give their Governor and Government the middle finger salute and refuse to abide by the law.  If enough people stand up to the State Government there, then said Government will most likely back down.  It would cost a whole lot of money for them to incarcerate most or all their gun owners.
  5. Keep this in mind also, this country will not be allowed to have another Civil War.  The minute it looks like this country will descend into anarchy, the world will step in.  And it will very likely step in on the side of the officially elected Government.  Why will they do this? Two reasons, the first being we have the largest nuclear arsenal.  And the UN will want that under control.  The second reason will be because we are the world's only super power left and China and Russia will see a grand opportunity to bring us down to their level of even lower.  Regardless of the reason, we will all lose, regardless of which "side " we are on.
  6. I believe there is a gang of stick up artists operating here in Knoxville at the moment.  Armed robbery seems to be WAY up over the last three or so weeks.
  7. I don't consider the schools my kids attend, to be prisons, and I do want my children respectful and trusting of our local LEOs.  We may be our own first line of defense when it comes to crime, but LEO's are the cavalry for all of us.  Part of the crime problem we have today, is due to the fact that we have whole communities that will not talk to or cooperate with LE on a local level.  It's in those communities where crime is a problem and ends up costing us so much tax money, because we have to have more LEOs, courts, jails, and prisons. It's because of those communities, that Liberals in this country are trying to take away our 2A rights.  So yes, I think it's a good idea for my kids to be comfortable around LEOs.   There is a trust element that I am not comfortable with when it comes to teachers carrying firearms.  When it comes to SRO's, I am much more comfortable with them, due to their increased level of training.  If we are going to arm a few teachers in every school, then I think they need to under go rigorous training just like police officers do. And they should be paid an additional amount of money for what they are doing as well.  If we are going to do that, then when not just put an SRO on duty.
  8. Once we defeat all this crazy talk and the proposed bills in Washington (and we will), then the bubble will burst and you will start to see a lot of them come back on the market at reasonable prices.  There are going to be a lot of people out of a lot of money when this happens.
  9. I have no problem with qualified teachers being selected and armed.  But my personal preference would be to see armed SRO's in all schools for two reasons.   One, they are better trained than the average teacher would ever be (short of a combat veteran or an ex-police officer). I currently only know one teacher that I think would be qualified enough to be armed at a school.   Two. I think it's great for children to learn that they can trust a police officer.  You would be surprised how well children get to know the support staff at school and that includes SROs.  I do think SRO's need additional training above your average patrol officer on how to interact with children in a school environment.  I think that's a different situation than being on the street.   Currently I know several teachers and I only consider one of them qualified to be armed.  He is also one of the best shots I know with either a pistol or rifle and a veteran.  I quizzed my High School Senior about which teacher she thought would be qualified to be armed at her school and she said there was only one that she thought was qualified to carry a firearm, and he is a also a veteran,
  10. Honestly, I think there isn't a state Northeast of Virginia that I care to visit anymore, except New Hampshire.  They have all turned socialist and really seem to be no part of the United States any longer, nor do they recognize the Constitution.
  11. I was just at Crossroad Guns on Broadway (was Randy's Guns) and I think they had 1 AR10 mag.  Not sure of the capacity.  Might want to give them a call.
  12. Very good response!
  13.   I don't think legally that could happen since you are supposed to do business at a specific location, by law.  I could see individuals obtain an FFL to do nothing but background checks for a fee though, especially if all this crap goes down. I think if this crappy law were to pass, the demand for such a service would be steady, especially, if your price was reasonable.  And you don't have to keep inventory on hand.  Could be a good business!  I've thought about it, but I'm not sure I want to deal with the ATF ever again.  Been down the FFL road once.     It would be just another form of registration.  Totally against that too.
  14. I've never shot a better semi-automatic pistol than a Browning Hi-Power.  I find the Beretta to be way bigger than it really needs to be.  And I've never been a fan of the CZ's narrow slide.  I always found it hard to grasp the slide and pull it back due to it's narrowness.  They are still great pistols.
  15. It ain't over till the Fat Lady sings.  She ain't singing yet.
  16. I feel my blood pressure going up again... :(
  17. I am totally against it.  It's just another form of registration.
  18. I think there will be a lot of weapons on GB and other websites from New York.  I don't see how any modern full size semi-automatic pistols, other than a 1911 will still be usable, unless new magazines are produced by the manufacturers.  I suspect a lot of small pocket pistols will survive, though.  Prices on these new magazines will be high as well, for New York State Gun owners, because there will have to be new tooling to make these new magazines, which costs the manufacturer more money for not a lot of return, because it's only for one state.  Could you all see Glock, S&W, CZ or Beretta produce an entire new line of magazines just for New York State?  I really can't.  And you know the State of New York is going to require some sort of permanent fix for these.   The really stupid thing is the crooks are still going to get the hi-cap mags and use them. They just created a whole new black market for hi-cap magazines up there. I can see people coming down here from New York and buying thousands of dollars worth magazines and taking them back up north and re-saling them for 2 or 3 times the amount.  I can also see a lot of owners totally ignoring the law and keeping what they got.    All this does is punish the legal gun owners.
  19. Something tells me that the days of a background check taking 10 or 15 minutes are about to be a thing of the past.  I could see a background check taking as long as 3 to 5 days, if the Feds get involved.  You know they will deliberately slow the pace down.  It will be a defacto waiting period.
  20. Dave, sorry about that.  I went back and edited that out.  I had no intention of damning all hunters.  Just the small minority that keep making comments like I described. Thank you for pointing it out!
  21. Yes, that is exactly what I meant.  Folks, I've been seeing quite a few posts like this.  There was at least one in the Knoxville News Sentinel, today!  The other side wants to divide us on the 2A.  That's why Biden met last week with hunters and sportsman groups separate from the NRA other National Firearms Organizations.  That's why you keep seeing the Administration, Diane Feinswine and her ilk keep saying they are not against hunters and hunting nor are they interested in banning hunting weapons. They are trying to divide us and when a hunter pipes up says stuff like "You don't need an AR15 to hunt deer", it damages our cause!  And it makes me see RED!!!  I'm not condemning all hunters.  I hunt myself, but I also target shoot and I have firearms to defend my family and I.  I just want the ones that say stuff like this to quit doing it.  Seriously, if they are able to implement an AWB, then scopes, multi-shot pumps and bolt actions are next folks.  Feinswine wants them all gone!  I heard her say in 1995 on 60 Minutes!  She said it and she meant it!
  22. We should not let up!  Keep writing, calling and voting!  Just because it appears the danger may be past, doesn't mean it can't come up again.  No matter how innocent the other side makes it look, always suspect every one of their ideas, because they are not going to be good for us. If they can't get us with one big bill, then they will come at us with a lot of small bills and try and get the get the same affect, if they can.  We must continue to keep the pressure on our Representatives in Washington and in our State Capitals.  Every time we lose a fight and some seemingly small change happens, that erodes the 2A; we need to make sure that the politicians that were responsible for that law passing, get sent home and some one that is 2A friendly, replaces them.  Keep your on on the target, boys and girls!  This is far from over!!!
  23. Maybe we need to start forming militias again.  You know where we all show up on Saturday mornings and parade around and march and train.  Not the white supremacy  or Nazi party stuff.  More like what our founding fathers used to do, back in 1776.  Could you imagine every county seat having a militia company marching around the square or around the courthouse on a given Saturday.  That would be a true militia then! What would be even better is if the county and the state actually started using them for emergency purposes.
  24. You know, I don't get real upset when I hear a liberal say "You don't need an AR or AK to hunt <animal of choice>."  Figure that just goes with being a Liberal and fairly ignorant and mostly stupid.  The ones that piss me off and I mean REALLY PISS ME OFF, are the small minority of hunters that post that garbage online or stand up in front of a microphone and spout that nonsense!!!  They are so moronic that they think nothing will happen to their firearms.  They think they will never be next, which I think is a bunch of hogwash!  They tried back in the 1960's to have rifle scopes declared illegal after after that nutcase shot all those people down in Texas with a hunting rifle.  And the Libs are always going after the hunting rounds because of lead.  These people better wake up!  Cause they are next!!!
  25. Done!  I wish all the firearms manufacturers would do this!!!
