  1. I'd love too.  I bet it would be the safest place in Knoxville!
  2. Interesting that the guy (Markos Moulitsas, who founded and runs the DailyKos was once a Republican Precinct Captain in Chicago.  He is from El Salvador.  His family fled here to the States after being threatened by the Communists.  He was in the U.S. Army and that was where he started turning to the darkside.  He stated that he like the Army, because you worked hard and return the Army took care of you... Sounds a bit communist when you think about it.  Something tells me that in fact he is a Communist, supporting the Democratic Party.
  3. I think a bunch of those NRA types in San Diego ought to hook up with the Progressive Movement there and get the rest of the signatures needed on that petition to get his butt canned.  Then I think the NRA should send him a card telling him CYA!
  4. I heard a sound bit from Obama today.   "That means passing serious laws that restrict the access and availability of assault weapons and magazine clips that aren't necessary for hunters and sportsmen and those responsible gun owners who are out there."   So I guess the rest of us (a large number of us, I believe) just got designated as "irresponsible", because we own modern sporting weapons, that take detachable magazines. :(
  5. What a bunch of BS drivel!  McCarthy is a total moron as evidenced in that video.
  6. I hope you corrected him on the spot by substituting his firearm of choice and "adding why do we need such a weapon?" behind it?  We need to keep all firearms owners in line on this or we are sunk!!!
  7. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2013/jan/27/three-tennessee-mayors-support-gun-background/   I think it's time to start the recall petitions!  Maybe we can fire the "Political First Shot" in this political war for our Rights, and get rid of these clowns!  Might make Washington stand up and notice!!!
  8. I personally don't think Clinton will run in 2016.  She will be 69 and I suspect her health is not the best as evidenced recently.    Back to the topic at hand; I totally agree with the OP.  I've noticed an alarming trend in the last two elections, with the major news outlets putting their most liberal attack dogs on the Republican Candidate's campaign trail.  This year it seemed to me to be Andrea Mitchell.  It was very evident that she was no friend to to Romney and seemed to go out of her way to only report negative articles about Romney. There were others too, but she stood out from the bunch. Yet there was no such journalist or group reporting on the Obama campaign.   We are starting to see the press side once again with Obama new pushes for social change.  Lots of negative reporting on the conservative push back, but all happy, happy reporting on the President's agenda. It's sickening to watch, honestly. There was a time when the press was the foil against bad Government.  Seems that's not the case anymore.  They are in bed with the Government.  If you don't believe me, watch all the political shows this morning and you will see.  There will be a group of talking heads most of whom are liberals, with a moderate or conservative (if they want to be edgy) thrown into the mix for "balance".   East Tennessee Patriot may have it right on how to control them though.  If enough pressure can be placed on their advertisers, then some of these shenanigans might stop.  The companies to target are almost all, Wall Street type companies.  They are Insurance companies and Investment Funds.  The problem is most are tied to our 401Ks. Hard to boycott them, when you don't have a choice on who you get to use.
  9. I hope NY Gun Owners go for this as well!  I'd like to see them start protesting in Albany!  They need to really start pushing back and pushing back hard!  Then when election time rolls around start voting the bass-tards out of office!!!
  10. A lot of people that I know that are in Unions are Pro 2A.  I think it's a possibility that what Mike suggested, is the case.
  11.   Exactly!  They already know all they need to know about you.  The first time you logged on to the internet, you made the list. And when you started posting here, you got some "1s" and "0s" next to it.  We are all in plain view of the Government now, like it or not.  No reason to hide anything anymore.
  12. I think if they restrict U.S. Citizens from purchasing any firearms or magazines, then the restriction should be for all. That includes LE, the Feds, Hollywood, etc...  Everyone, means EVERYONE!
  13. I have no problem with this as long as a woman can pass the same PT test.  I think they should also include a fireman's carry in the PT test as well.   I do know women that could pass the PT test with flying colors and perform a proper fireman's carry.  If they can do that, I don't see how you can keep them out.
  14. I think the main roads in Knoxville are still good, but the side roads are pretty bad.  My chariot (AKA Minivan) in encased in ice. Luckily I am off today, but I have no intention of leaving the confines of my recliner, other than for eating and bathroom breaks!!! :)
  15. Knox County School System has their on armed security people with police powers.  It's not unheard of.  I think they have about 10 of 15 officers on staff.    http://www.wate.com/story/19250252/knox-county-school-security-officers-train-with-police-for-first-time   Now what is sad is that this was the first time they have trained together.  All three departments should be training together regularly.  But I know how that goes between local jurisdictions.
  16. I always have a revolver loaded and near me.  Shotgun is loaded, but not racked and locked in the safe during the day.  I get it out at night and it stays by the bed.  In the morning it goes back in again.
  17. There were also thousands of people notifying Reed that because of their stance towards modern firearms, they would not be attending! This is going to make some businesses take notice and I hope Congress as well.  If we all don't stand together we will get steamrolled!  I'd rather be doing the steamrolling of the other side!!!
  18. There should not be compromise on anything, period!
  19. I think Alexander better REALLY consider how he votes on this one, because, his butt may be moving back to Tennessee in 2014, with a bad decision on an AWB vote.
  20. That's the proper attire for Nazi hunting! :)
  21. Plain edge.  I hate serrations, not matter how pretty the knife is.  My last serrated knife was a RAT 1 which I do carry everyday in my pack. I'd love to trade it for a plain edge RAT 1.
  22. http://www.wbir.com/news/article/250556/2/KPD-aims-to-trade-for-more-powerful-handguns   KPD wants to move away from Glock .40s to Sig .45ACPs!  According to the article, the SIGs are more accurate, with better ergonomics, longer lifespan (!0 years Vs 4 years) and are harder hitting.  They plan to start the transition in February and be done in April.   It's interesting to see a department move to an older caliber!
  23. I think the only thing you can do with those older Mini-14s is trade them in for an AR or a Saiga.  OS swears the new ones are much better now, but I'll just take his word for it.  I doubt I will ever buy another one.  Two was enough for me.
  24. Moped
