I've visited the Dayton and Columbus area many times, been to the Museum 3 or 4 times over the last 15 years. I still don't feel like I've adequately seen and done all there is to do there. There's also an access to the old Huffman Prairie field on the base, and a downtown tour of old Dayton which includes several sites having to do with the Wrights. The airport south of town ( too lazy to look up the name now) has a replica of a Wright model B flyer which is periodically available for rides, or used to be. If you also happen to be into cars, particularly Fords, the Mid-Ohio Ford club hosts the world's largest all-Ford swap meet in Columbus twice per year, Columbus is about an hour from Dayton.

Every aircraft has a "best glide speed" which maximizes horizontal distance traveled vs. the rate of descent. This speed varies by configuration changes (gear, flaps, slats, spoilers, etc), weight distribution and several other factors, but is always well below "max speed". The procedure is to immediately bring the aircraft to whatever best glide speed is for a particular configuration, however that is complicated for the SR71 by the minimum airspeeds required to prevent stalling at various altitudes and will necessarily change on the way down. One source I found says the "glide distance" of an SR71, traveling at Mach 3.0 at 70000 ft. would be about 77 nautical miles. By comparison, the known glide distance of the earlier U-2 from the same altitude was in excess of 225 nm. The SR71 did many things well, but it was not an efficient glider, pilot anecdotes often include the word "brick" in their description of it's gliding qualities ...

Another one, from a former ATC controller, about a short exchange between an SR71 and younger controller: In another famous SR-71 story, Los Angeles Center reported receiving a request for clearance to FL 600 (60,000ft). The incredulous controller, with some disdain in his voice, asked: “How do you plan to get up to 60,000 feet?” The pilot (obviously a sled driver), responded: “We don’t plan to go up to it, we plan to come down to it…” After a long pause, the now chastened controller replied: "Cleared for FL 600" ...

I would hazard a guess this is some of the Samco guns that Century picked up in their buyout a couple of months ago. Although they had several crates and pallets of random Mosins in their warehouse, the story was that many of the guns were in terrible condition and would be parts guns at best. I'm sure these that AIM has will be some of the better ones, as those typically get sent out first. I understand that Classic got some of these as well. Look for the "U-fix-em's" to show up fairly soon on the Century, SOG and other sites ...

Murg, a cursory search shows the Derby City Motorcycle School has openings for their Aug. 5th class, it's also a good idea to check with the instructors at the dealerships as they sometimes have last minute cancellations and will also sometimes take on an extra or two for the classes. Not as much as you think. Just an example, a full crate (880 rounds) of 7.62x54r weighs roughly 60 lbs. At 13000 lbs. (6.5 tons) that's about 217 crates, or approximately 2 pallets. There are a lot of people who stockpile those amounts and more ...

Also keep in mind that often times with places like Classic, Aim, etc. their automated email systems will sometimes send out a mass email alert when only a single item is in stock, as in the case of a returned gun, or one that was a rejected sale due to improper FFL docs, etc.
