  1. I think the Duke said it best........turn up your speakers.           https://youtu.be/q6N4zKM2cZs
  2. Dolomite.....you really need to write a book. There is just too much info on too many subjects you have stored with in you...and I appreciate every single bit of it. I am much more comfortable with the AK....but the wife and times being what they are....demand a change. I am not too old to learn this info....just behind the curve...thanks gentlemen.
  3. WOW!  So much info...thanks guys...Looks like I'll be getting a Stag upper with a 9:1....mostly shooting the 55gr as it seems plentiful around here.....so generally speaking, the higher the twist rate the lighter the bullet for best performance....  Now to get my other parts and accessories. This sure is different than building an AK.
  4. I have been pondering delving into the AR world and with my research, I have come across different twist rates in different length barrels. My question involves twist rate and bullet grains. Does a 7:1 twist need a different/heavier/lighter projectile than a 9:1 twist? Are there advantages to the slower 7:1? Is the 9:1 more desirable? Any help is always appreciated.
  5. Here is an Islamic example of tolerance........WARNING......check your blood pressure before and after reading......   http://shoebat.com/2015/06/14/british-waterpark-bans-women-from-wearing-bikinis-and-other-non-sharia-compliant-swimwwear/     Keep in mind that Walid Shoebat used to be Muslim and is now a follower of the God of Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John......and many on this board. I have met the man several times when he came to my Messianic synagogue...awesome testimony!
  6.     Permission granted
  7. Unashamedly borrowed from another site.....     Jigs McDonald, NHL Hall of Fame broadcaster speaking in Ontario, says: "I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque being built in Toronto. I think it should be the goal of every Canadian to be tolerant regardless of their religious beliefs. Thus the mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance." “That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, 'The Turban Cowboy' and the other, a topless bar, would be called 'You Mecca Me Hot'." “Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbecue pork restaurant, called 'Iraq of Ribs'." “Across the street there could be a lingerie store called 'Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret' with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods and on the other side a liquor store called 'Morehammered'." "All of this would encourage Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us. :usa:     :usa:
  8. Glocks do take some getting used to. The trigger feel is different fro a 1911 or an XD for example and with the G19, it is easy to put too much finger on the trigger. Range time and another observer will help....it took me awhile to get used to the G21 I had as I came from a 1911. Just my  .o2 cents worth.....
  9. Hope this helps...... http://
  10. Excellent!
  11. I was wondering about the strength of the polymer at contact points and how it held up to repeated use....pin removal/insertion and such. Does the pivot pin hole in the front deform after long term use? It seems that an aluminum lower would be more reliable...this is my first AR  and I want to build it right. The price difference between the aluminum and poly lowers is fairly close.....I will have to do more research I guess. Thanks you gents.
  12. Does anyone have any first hand info on the TennArms poly lowers? I am starting an AR build and came across their wesite in my search for components. As always, any info is appreciated.
  13. I opened some Tupperware this weekend too...a G30s.....I only drink koolaid that has a high caliber kick.....okay so I mixed metaphores but that's what a Glock is!
  14. WOW    no traffic!
  15. Excellent points made gentlemen. It is good to see agreement and disagreement all while maintaining an adult dialog. Personal choices and personal actions deserve personal consequences.....that is the basis for our laws. I will admit to a personal, emotional response to flag burning and what it stands for to me. I am ready to accept the consequence of my actions, even the emotionally powered ones, if they defend what is good, just, right and holy. Most of those terms have become obsolete instead of aboslute in this day and age....a further reflection of the decline of this country. I am aware that the beliefs and opinions I hold/express are shared by others on this board, on others boards, in my place of work and house of worship. I am aware that more and more people across the city, state and nation I live in do not. Rights, responsibilities, consequences and actions used to be grounded by absolutes. The OPs post demonstrates the hazards of diversity between people of different values. It does bring up the question of tolerance.....when/how to stop something that is wrong? What benchmark do we use for determining what is wrong? Where do we as, individuals, a community, a nation drawa line in the sand and say NO more....I believe that all of us will soon have to answer that question for ourselves. God bless America. God save America.
  16. Free speech has consequences.....your right to yell FIRE in a packed movie theater has the consequence of being arrested after you get trampled....burning the flag  (that my family members bled and died for) to make a point has painful and bloody consequences. A contradiction you say....rights carry responsibilities...you are responsible for your actions as you exercise your rights.
  17. Unit tactics!!! Way to go Dolo...  Maybe this boy will learn to think on his own too....keep up the good work!
  18. I lost an uncle in Korea, one in 'Nam and almost lost my Dad there too. The flag is at half staff all weekend for those men and what we, as a family, lost.
  19. I do and have....while living out west I found myself targeted by a pack of rather large coyotes. I was hiking thru the desert way outside of Salt Lake and Mr.Browning's eternal design propelled some rather recent reloads and rid the world of 3 yotes. Wheel weights, tin and Zip...that's the ticket.
  20. Anything made by our own Grand Torino....he has good quality knives in his ever growing stock....or you could look at Boker knives.
  21. Individual heroism is American. I understand that Sheriff may have wanted to protect the individual cop from Islamic repercussions but by back tracking on who did what and when set the example for others to wait until SWAT gets there. When seconds count  SWAT is just minutes away.  Individual initiative needs to be rewarded, not divided up between departments. I understand teamwork but this cop did an excellent job.
  22. I wouldn't want to get shot with a pretty Glock or a fugly Hi Point.....
  23. SWAT was late to the party....give credit to the traffic cop for doing what needed to be done when it needed to be done. Sounds like the SWAT team is trying to justify their funding.
  24.  An ammosexual...does that mean your primer has been pierced? I know of guys that regularly bulge their brass with their Glocks.....after limp wristing with their 1911 of course.
  25. Does anyone else remember the Muslim Day event held on the Texas State Capitol steps awhile back? They exercised their free speech right and were met with 1 woman protesting that their god is not our God. She was exercising her right to speak freely and was escorted away. No bullets went flying. The issue is actions vs. words. I can say that my dog's crap is holy and doesn't stink but when I fling that sh*t in you face for you to smell....that crosses the line. Actions make the difference. The Muslims are pushing their beliefs by violent actions and it is not by a militant minority. Our God given, Constitionally protected rights are being eroded day by day. A time is soon approaching that we stand up and fight or kneel down and die. Actions make the difference. God save the USA.
