I shot this doe Saturday and cut her up today . The picture with the roasts and different cuts is meat from one 1 back leg so I have twice that much but I just showed one picture of it . It may not look fancy but I like it and learned on my own little by little every year . I do all my own butchering and learned it by myself. It doesnt take long and you get to learn ways of doing things and making your own custom cuts. I never "trophy hunt" . All my deer are for food , they are gutted by me and butchered by me , so are my squrril , fish and birds. :pleased:

trigger pull ? WOW ! I just went back and looked . That is way heavy . Must be an error.

If the 42 is going to be a double stack .380 then why rename it a 42 ? The 25 and 28 are both double stack .380's . The only thing I can think of is that they may have to " add features " for it to meet the "point system" but then again if the slide and frame and all are made here now then it shouldnt have to meet all those "points" .

I'd say the Shield is a good choice . Idealy the best I would say would be the G26 but the S&W is good too. I say these two becuase parts could be bought for them . WIth the XDS , you cant buy replacement parts hardly at all without sending it back to the company. Plus on the XDS the grip-safety may not always get depressed and therefore it wouldnt fire. I have the Shield and G26 and i like them both ALOT . I have handled the XDS and the grips safety , to me , is an unnecessasary part that could hurt you instead of help when time to fire. That is my $.02

To me the newer style without the Tenifer treatment looks like Teflon that comes on non-stick cooking pans. I believe that the older ones with Tenifer had no "finish" at all and that flat black look was just the way the Tenifer made the metal look after it's Tenifer treatment . Tenifer is a metal treatment and not a finish .
-
My Grandma used to use one. How do you know if you need one ?
-
From my experience , if you find a used Glock , with the old flat black looking color , then it is Tenifer treated and you are good to go . This is the reason I made a crazy long trip to Chattanooga a few months ago to buy an old Gen 2 G21 . Tenifer , no finger grooves , no MIM parts, and works as reliable as an AK47

I'm just curious. I only have one Glock Gen 3 of the "newer" Gen 3's. It has been good so far and has been exposed to rain and moisture a lot and stays holstered all the time on my duty belt at work. It is 2 years old. But I am hearing more and more rust issues lately than ever with Glocks. I have gotten rid of my newer Gen 3's for older gen 3's and Gen 2's . I know that it is extremely rare to see a Gen 2 or older Gen 3 rust with the true Tenifer . I think Tenifer is no longer used and this is the only thing I can think of that would be causing these hit and miss rust issues . Supposedly the Tenifer process cant be done in the USA due to EPA and or health restrictions. Possibly not overseas either . I may be wrong . But this is what I have come up with .

CZ9MM , how old is your Glock ? Do you remember when it was test fired dated ?
-
This is true . YOu can remove the inner friction thingy and trim the outer perimeter of the holster to fit properly inside your pocket or just keep it on your belt . These cheap (as in price not quality) holsters made by Glock FOR the Glock pistol work awesomely. They are only $14 . Once I got mine , I sold all my other holsters for my Glocks and now use this one for them all.

Yes sir ! Just exactly a month away from muzzleloader season ! Thats when I get mine . I sure cant wait . If it's brown then its coming down !

I use tomato sauce , cummin , tomatoes .deer meat , garlic , salt, black pepper, taco seasoning , Rotel tomatoes , tomatoes , vadailia onions , and a little more stuff .
-
Thanks guy/gals . I only get 2 deer at the most during hunting season so I have to ration my meat , I have a few pounds left so this seems about right to make a batch of good ole deer chilli.
-
I have been rationing my deer meat out for the last year and I have some left over so it's time to use it up. I am making some deer chilli and just thought I'd post it for you other "male cooks" , haha . My part time hobby is cooking and I have cooked all my life since age 10 . When I get the kids out of the house my hobby will be reloading cartridges ! Yee Haw!!!!! But anyways here it is . I make it from scratch and nothing is pre-made . Deer meat is so good since it is not grain fed nor hormone filled . I have been in Tennessee my whole life and all I know and have delt with were people and my Gandma hanging peppers from a string that has been ran though the peppers and the hung up on a hook from the ceiling in our house. We always let them dry all out until they were plastic feeling . Then we used them or grinded them .

The Glock has way fewer parts and is a lot easier to fix with a simple tool or ink pen . The Glock has parts that can be found in a lot more places , I mean a lot more places than a Sig. The Glock is cheaper and the Glock has an awesome record of reliability . Also the Glock will function when you need it , trust me , I know . And the warranty department at Glock is a lot better than Sig's from what I am hearing lately . Dont get me wrong , I want a Sig 220 but if I want my life to depend on it then I want a Glock 21 instead of a Sig 220.
-
Yes , this . The Glock is like a Honda because it will function and run and run .
-
Yes thats the one. I think it's been about 17 yrs since I been there too. Looked like a junk shack outside but inside he had all sorts of neat things. I always found old water proof tarps , heavy duty bags and a neat rifle or too there .
-
Does anyone here know if this place is still in business ? I know the owner got robbed and hurt pretty bad a year ago but I havent heard if he still runs it . He had lots of old military surplus , old guns and new guns . Really neat to walk around inside and look at stuff. I always would leave there with a least one thing . Havent been there in quite a while . Just seeing if you guys/gals know if its still open .

I like this !

Before we got issue them at my work , I had not held one nor shot one . We got Bushmasters with the 16 inch barrels. They have all worked great for us at work. SO much that I bought my own Bushmaster. Easy to take apart and all.

LOL !

Like I said I am not trying to be anal but it is crazy, I think, when a gun manufacturer cant even get things correct .
-
No it is just laying next to the Marlin .
