sadly none of this is surprising to me; even if not 100% factually accurate (as reported above, although I don't personally know, nor care to research for myself), the spirit of the article and the way CA is managed seems to be accurate to my understanding.  i'm sure CA is a beautiful place to live and visit, but i personally have no desire to visit and offer my $ to their tax system

Maybe I misinterpreted the situation but ... that seemed to escalate quickly. Lets all put the guns down, step away from the situation, and realize that what happened here didn't really require anyone getting there feelings hurt.
