Honestly im open to anything. Just as long as it goes bang. For me, it would also be an investment in a new caliber. No biggie as far as that goes. Hopefully this thread will continue.

    1911 low down

I am wanting a 1911 as well. Honestly, im not sure what has taken me so long to start wanting one. Ive shot them, love em! I came close to buying a Para last week as a Christmas present to me. It was the expert in OD green. It included a $100 rebate. Wich would have put the gun in the $450 range. Being my first one I decided not to purchase until I researched them more. But I have subd this thread to look at all the options y'all are throwing out there.
  5. I think they are fighting about who wants to stink the most
  6. The sad thing is that the sig will be put back on the shelf to an unknowing buyer. I would have done the same thing that you did.
  7. I could do either of those knives. Depending on fundage. The tr4 looks nice as well.
  8. Sorry for your loss, prayers sent
  9. I have never served. Come from a long line of family members that have, and I'm proud to be a part of a military family! I was born with TGA which is transposition of the great arteries. So, uncle Sam wouldn't take me. However, I represent my father and the rest of my family by always thanking them and all others who have served or currently serve. I regret not being able to serve my country. Dad sat me down when I was younger and told me not to worry, that some people aren't able to serve. He also said I've taught you how to shoot, if the day ever comes, you may be standing shoulder to shoulder with others defending the country we love. Which, I hope never comes.
  10. I will check that out. Thanks for the reply!
  11. Is that in store only or online for the buds deal?
  12. Happy thanksgiving to you and yours!
  13. Fishing has been really good to me over the years. I just wonder how much pressure will be on watauga and soho as far as fishing and flood control. They held watauga a lot last year. If we have a really wet spring, things could get interesting.
  14. I like it. I had a lcr but traded it for a g26. Liked the gun tho. Just not a fan of that msrp!
  15. My thoughts have always been that 9mm worked pretty darn good for the Germans.
  16. This guy was lucky he rolled up on someone who wasn't carrying. Instead of reading an obit, we are reading about him getting a but whipping on the side of I26. Imo, the victim should have just driven away. Instead, he just about lost his hand. http://www.timesnews.net/article/9082817/road-rage-fuels-machete-attack-in-kingsport
  17. The ol man laid one out Wednesday. Nice looking mountain buck for upper east tn.
  18. We ran this story not long ago. I was surprised at the number one. http://www.homesecurityshield.org/news/most-dangerous-cities-in-tennessee/
  19. I had the unfortunate pleasure of covering ol Al Bore when he came and took ETSU's money a few years ago. What a putz! I haven't heard that much BS slung in a long time. He answered no questions for us in the media, gave his .002 cents and peaced out. What a waste of hot air.
  20. I don't have a "primitive" weapon. I do, however, have a black powder rifle. I would like to have a "primative" weapon one day. Imo, they both shoot powder, just a different boolit. There are so many ways to argue with this. Quite frankly, I'm just happy to hunt. I have nothing against anything that gets people out in the woods. I think at times we hunters are our own worst enemy. We argue over petty things. In the mean time, we should be striving to make our sport stronger, and become more active in getting others involved. So, hunt with what ya got. Hunt with what you like, and don't worry about what the other man or woman is doing. Get out and enjoy what the good Lord has given and leave it at that.
  21. I am in. This will be my first group buy. I'll take what numer I can get. Regular blade for me please.
  22. I need to jump on a black Friday sale if I see it. I have had good luck with simmoms optics. But I think I'm sold on this p223 that you guys are telling me about.
  23. I will look at the p-223. Do you hunt with yours or just plink around?
  24. Im not going to go the expensive route. I plan on being a little rough with the gun. So, high end optics aren't needed. Ive used leupold scopes. They have worked well for me in the past. A friend of mine has a nikon and I like the lense in it. Thanks for the info Dave.
