Beware of sensitive deliveries via FedEx...
bersaguy replied to lock n' load's topic in General Chat
I have a drive way next to my house that belongs to my neighbor behind me. My house number is 235 and next door behind me is 233 and I can't count the times I have walked out on my back deck and one of their packages was left on my deck. It got so regular that the gentleman gave me his phone number so I could call him if I got a package. He would bring me a dozen fresh eggs as payment for putting up with his packages. I had to tell him not to bring eggs sometimes because I didn't need any. -
Thank you very much for the email about the scam. It is very much appreciated. Right now I'm not looking for anything to buy but warnings are always nice to get.

Sorry I missed it! I should have caught that one!

You beat me too it OLDNEWBIE. I was going to request that when he moves down here to please leave the politics up there. I wish him luck finding a house and land that suits him. With the prices of homes today I sure am glad I don't have to move!!!! -
I don't really believe a 300 lb fat lady is going to be crawling through and HVAC duct unit in an escape and it said in the OP that they crawled through the duct work to escape......JMHO

I have a belief that a person could be insane if they truly do not know the difference between right and wrong at all. These people that can carefully plan a crime and then carry out that crime are not insane but just plain EVIL. All serial killers are sane as they carefully plan each crime and carry it out with precision. That is why they are so hard to catch.....JMHO

How many folks here thought that guy that opened fire in that theater in Colorado during the Bat Man premier thought he was crazy? All of his planning before and after the shooting show careful thought right up to an including wiring his apartment with explosives and making sure he was dressed in full body armor and made sure he hit the only gun free theater in that town? His attorney declared him mentally ill and unfit when the trial began and was his only defense. Does a mentally disturbed person go through that type of planning to commit a crime like that?

I don't have an opinion on it. I was not there and not going to second guess the actions of the police that were. I would say they were all just trying to get home alive. It is what all of us do every time we go out whether it is for work or just a trip for some milk and bread.

I had a friend killed by police and it was a pure case of Suicide by cop plain and simple except for one fact. His name was Ray and he was dying from Terminal cancer and had reached a point that he wanted to die but didn't have the ability to do it himself. He was well known by all the police and was friends with most of them so he knew he would have to force them to shoot him. He called 911 and said he was going to kill himself and they sent Police from THP and Cheatham County Sheriffs office to his home. He was standing out in his yard with a 22 rifle when they arrived. He didn't want to hurt any of them but knew he would need to provoke them. He fired 3 shots over their heads as they were trying to talk with him. None of them wanted to be the one that put him down. He and his brother owned a towing service and were zoned to tow for the county is how he got to know all the police and many times his mother would cook breakfast for them. He fired 11 rounds each time getting closer to them. Finally another squad car arrived with a rookie new to the force arrived that didn't know him and he fired two rounds into the cars back door and the Rookie shot and killed him. Ray was not a bad person in any way. He just couldn't take the pain any longer and wanted to die. The officers spent more than an hour trying to talk to him and the rookie was there less then 5 minutes and Ray was dead. None of the police on the scene wanted to shoot Ray and I think the Rookie helped them all by shooting him. Rays family was there in the house when they heard the shots that killed him and the all clear was announced and they knew Ray was dead. None of the family was mad at the police for killing him because they knew that was what he wanted. That was probably one of the hardest calls those officers ever responded to. Ray would never have shot one of them but the Rookie did not know that. I think a Police officer is one of the hardest job a person can have and I have the utmost respect for them....JMHO

With all the police officers being killed these days, being shot in what should be a routine traffic stop that turns deadly for an officer. I can't find fault with officers being overly cautious for anything that seems out of the ordinary and you have to admit this was not ordinary. The guy was not being cooperative at all and was even acting suspicious. i say it was a justified shoot....JMHO

I have often wondered the Same thing Dirtshooter? I carry uninsured motorist on my vehicle which I asked my agent about it and she said after looking at the age of my Jeep she actually told me that I am almost wasting money with having it. She said if my Jeep received much damage at all they would total it and Pay me the minimum required which is $1,000.00 dollars. There are a lot of people in Tennessee that drive without insurance so I will keep mine. A $1,000.00 is better than a sharp stick in the eye!! I also have my rider on my Home owner/Renters policy for my firearms in case I have to shoot a piece of trash trying to steal something or break into my home.

I had a long talk with my insurance agent which by the way is Pro-Gun and she said I could add a rider to my Homeowners/Renters insurance that protects me and my firearms in the event I had to file a firearms claim. My policy did not increase by adding it. I did this quite a few years back long before this San Jose deal came about. I had a friend shoot a burglar in his home and the guy sued him from jail and almost won. If it wasn't for the fact the guy had a long history of arrests he might have won but my friend was still out the attorney fees. My insurance will cover any attorney's fees and other expenses. I realize that driving a car/truck etc is not a Constitutional issue but we still have to have liability insurance by law to operate one on the highways legally....JMHO

I knew it was in all vehicles and has been for years but it is now beginning to show up more and more and the damage has forced Toyota and a few other companies to start having to repair cars with it under warranty. I don't know about a movie but once it gets in the news I wonder how people will react to it??

Let me give yall something else to chew over!! You might want to see what the future might be for electric vehicles!! Research it!! bioplastics

I use to love Waffle House till they put the no gun rule in and I have not been to one since. I know I could carry concealed but not going to break the law just to eat a meal.

I am glad GA won the game just to prove to Saban that Bama and he was not unbeatable. The king was dethroned...... It was a great defensive game to watch!!!!

When I moved in here 2 years ago one of my first investment was in 4 heat tapes for my pipes and have not had to worry about frozen pipes. My main concern is power loss and no heat in the house other than small space heaters that would have to operate off generator. That would put a strain on the generator to heat the house and operate fridge and freezer and 1 lamp plus heat tapes. Tommy said the generator would more than handle it and I'm just glad I have not had to find out!!!!
-
My son-in-law just brought me the extension cords in case we need to fire up the generators for power outages. It's nice to know we have them for backups if we need them to keep Freezers and Fridge operating along with a few lights and small space heaters. They both are 30 AMP generators so will power what is necessary. Hope I don't need them but better to have and not need than to need and not have!!!!

We got about the same as the last one a few days ago and it is still spitting flurries. The bad part about this one is the cold weather that is with it. Last one melted a day of so later but this one will take longer to melt. This is what we have so far in Gordonsville.

I remember those days like they were yesterday even though I can't remember what I had for supper last night....lol. When I was 8 my parents go me the double holster Fanner 50's and I thought when I put them on I was the fastest gun in the west....LOL. Thank you for the memories!!!!!

We got about 6 inches in most of this area and it is melting fairly fast but not fast enough for me....LOL.
