  1.   Yea but a bunch of folks that voted for him also may have lost their home also??????.............jmho
  2.   Yep, those new Air Craft Carriers are very fast and can maneuver quite well. It is not like when the U.S.S. enterprise and the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk were in use. It was said many times if you fell off the flight deck or any location of either one of those ships if an escort vessel like a destroyer or Tin can didn't picked you up you better be able to tread water for a very long time and hope you didn't become shark bait because it took somewhere around 100 miles for the Aircraft carrier to make a turn and come back for you. Now they can get you out of the water in about 28 minutes with one..........
  3. I have been using a broad band/ wifi network for past several years through my phone service and it is not as fast as some of the places like Infinity or U-verse might be but much faster than dial up and it costs me 30 bucks a month. Broad band unit was 35 bucks back when I first got it and now they are 79.00 but it would still be worth it if I had to buy another one if this one went bad. If I had to change I would probably go with U-Verse.............jmho
  4.   I figure your going to close to correct about that Duck. It has already been scarce and don't see much of it in stores and when you do it is priced like above in earlier posts.
  5. well, there might be another reason for the call. Crime Stoppers pays money out to people that report crimes and like they say, "Money talks and bull sh-t walks."  Caller might have been hoping for a reward?.................jmho
  6. I hope they give him just a small time in the Gray Bar Motel with Big Bubba. I promise you he will come out a totally different young man with a totally knew outlook on life. I know he is going to just get a slap on the wrist here but things may not go well for him in his home country of Canada. The look at things a little different up there............jmho
  7.   Back before they made the big changes that have very much improved this school I spoke with several teachers that quit teaching there and also several LEO's that were assigned to the school to work there every day while school was in session and they told me that you could walk into any classroom at the school and in a class of 35 students and there would be at least 15 to 18 students wearing gang colors. That was not just a few classrooms but all of them. The teachers I spoke with quit because they could not teach because of the many disruptions that would take place while they were trying to teach. A few of them were even threatened and that is where my stats came from and oh yea, My Sister-in law and her husband were two of the teachers that ended up quitting. Guns were found almost daily and taken from students by resource officers along with many knives. The problem came to Mc Gavock when the new busing programs began and they began busing children from the inner city in attempts to offer the children an opportunity of a better education which I have no problem with. The idea just didn't work.............jmho
  8.   Well, if the stuff is legal to sell and the police told him that it was going to meth makers yet he continued to do it, Is that any different then Eric Holder selling guns to straw buyers while all the time knowing they were going straight to drug cartels and might be used in a crime later. Surely if the Attorney General of the United States can do something the same way (that did lead to a border officer being killed) then why are they coming down so hard on this guy? ..............jmho
  9. If you ask me I think the LEO was just plain stupid for selling something that may save his life on his next radio call to a shots fired call or domestic disturbance call. Ya have to wonder what some people are thinking...............jmho
  10. Murfreesboro  use to be a great town to live in but for about the last several years it has been in the news about every night for a shooting or some type of violent crimes. It is sounding like a Small LA or Little Chicago recently. Nashville is just about as bad if not worse. There is always a shooting or two about every night. In many cases its just kids shooting other kids which leads me to think those are either gang related or drug related. Sure glad I live in nice peaceful Gallatin where a violent crime happens once in a while. If it ever gets like the boro or Nashville I will be moving to the country............jmho
  11. Well I do know there has been a  very big change in Mc Gavock High school in past several years. It use to always be in the news for gang violence issues and i have not heard of any of that in several years now so if they were able to turn the school around I am glad for them. It is a good thing when a child can get an education without fear of getting shot or cut up. I have always been one for education but I also do really get tired of hearing it from politicians that are talking out both sides of their mouth about it. Obama is pushing education really hard and pushing college very hard and there are about 80% of college graduates that got out of school after getting their education and running up big college loans to get these fine educations that have been and are still unemployed because the jobs are not out there. I think before you preach higher education you need to provide employment opportunities and then preach higher education. Obama is putting the cart before the horse on this issue.  Oh yea, I forgot he leads from behind all the time.....my mistake............................ :wall: :wall: :wall:
  12. It appears to me like a lawyer is trying to scare people into his office more than anything but with that said. That law is very similar in most states. If you had no issues and were able to purchase a firearm and then later got convicted of a felony you do lose your firearms privileges at that point. In some cases depending on the charges you may be able to get your rights back and legally own a gun but I think you have to jump through a bunch of hoops and pay a lot of money to an attorney to get that privilege back for you. Not sure on that but have been told that a couple times in the past...............jmho
  13. I think they said that parents won't be allowed to attend. It is only going to be a  select number of students and some news medias as they are concerned about security and he is only going to speak about 40 minutes and then fly away again...................jmho
  14. According to the report he shot and killed a humanoid type creature. If it was a humanoid type creature he should be charged with premeditated  murder for hunting and killing a humanoid and not be running around bragging about it if it is in fact true which I doubt. I have read a lot of accounts about these creatures over the years and almost all scientists that have discussed information about them have drawn a conclusion that the beasts are a vegetarian and lives mostly off vegetation and is not carnivorous which should make his pork ribs food bait fake also......................jmho
  15. I guess he picked McGavock High School because it reminded him of schools in Chicago. 70 to 80% of students are gang members that attend school there and his audience of students were all hand picked so go figure. As far as I'm concerned he could have picked a complete different state to visit. I also guess he is a really busy guy since he will use Air Force 1 and the expenses of the aircraft and expense of all the security and everything is all being spent and he will be here a total of less than 2.5 hours. I think the money could be better spent with him remaining in Washington D.C. doing his job instead of wasting more tax payer dollars and adding another footprint of carbon in the air to come and talk with a bunch of thugs for an hour.............jmho
  16. Yep!! Welcome to TGO and you will find some great folks here for sure and Lascassas is a nice area and should find some friendly folks around that area.........................
  17. Technology has come a long way in a short time and so have the crooks. They work very hard at trying to learn how to bypass some of the most elaborate security systems and many times they are successful but if I was going to install a system it would be two separate ones. One a basic system and one that makes home movies with a hidden camera in every room that recorded ever move the crooks made and there would be a camera or two outside to get a good look at the vehicle they arrived in and left in. A picture is worth a 1000 words and I would want the police to have plenty of videos of the bad guys. The only reason I have not got a very elaborate is because I spend a lot more time at home these days since my retirement and if I do go someplace I am seldom gone more than an hour and we have a very good neighborhood watch system. I like to call it the Neighborhood Snoop Group because they do much more snooping than watching but it works for me. No one comes around that does not have a few pairs of eyes on them and many times pictures made of them and vehicles.................jmho
  18.   you raised some good points but the best one was to deactivate your alarm system after entering the house. Reason being a high tech person can be setting in a van or vehicle with devices that can collect your remote codes when you use it before entering your home and make their own remote to turn your system off. Had that happen to a buddy of mine. Lucky he had a system that alerted him on his phone if and when his system was turned off and he greeted the bad guys when they came out of his home along with two police officers............jmho
  19. I love Grilled Cheese Sandwiches so I will now be trying this new one as it sounds great with hot bowl of tomato soup and glass of cold milk for sure................
  20. Buds Gun Store sent me a promo and they now have 380 ammo in stock for sale but they sure are proud of the price. $15.95 for 20 rounds. I guess if you really need some and are totally or close to being out at least you would be able to get a few boxes since 380 is about like 22lr and getting hard to find...............jmho   https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php
  21. Well, I just checked my stock and I don't have any of it so I guess I am good to go. I have had most all mine over 2 year anyway so chances of it being in those lot numbers was slim to none anyway.
  22. Well, my grandson is looking for a 9mm and said he likes the M9 he carries and has trained on in the Army Rangers so I guess he will probably look at buying one since they will be making them here soon.
  23. Sorry to heard about all the bad things that have happened to your brother. That really sucks.............
  24. I don't have anything on my hard drive I would worry about losing like many people do so if I download something I want to keep that evening or even right after I done load it I put it on a flash drive so if mine ever does totally crash I will have the stuff stored I really wanted to keep on the flash drives. They are not all that expensive and you can store a ton of stuff on them. I have all my pictures and videos on them, all my email addresses and all the web sites I visit and other than that I don't worry about the junk stuff. I do hope your able to retrieve all your data you may have lost Glenn...........
  25. Wild Hogs like someone has already mentioned has spread to about all the states and I think there needs to be concerns about this. Hogs are not like deer. Hogs can be and are dangerous and can be and in many cases be very aggressive towards humans. If small children are out in the yard and hogs are near by, those children are clearly in a very dangerous situation. Hogs can be and in many cases carnivores and will eat meat with out a second thought when hungry. I do know a farmer that has shot and killed several on his farm that were damaging his crops and his home garden. He shot them and then took his tractor and back hoe and buried them. he was totally legal in doing so as they were being a nuisance and destroying his property. I also know another farmer that has shot several on his property also but I think he did what I would do. He butchered them up as he would a domestic hog and put them in his freezer. I would be saving that 200 lbs of meat if I had freezer space for it. If the states that do have a large population of wild hogs don't take action and a child ends up dead from them I would be suing that state for having both the knowledge that they have a problem and also are not doing anything to remedy it................jmho
