  2. I don't see this as being a shock to anyone. We have known for several years that eventually drones would be used in law enforcement sooner or later. Like a few have said, the witness and testimony of a human can be altered or a human can lie to a court. The film from an aircraft or drone can be in most cases more trust worthy than humans as like a saying that has been around for years. " A picture is worth a 1000 words". If someone is breaking the law they need to be dealt with and if done through legal channels such as court ordered search warrants I have no problem with it as long as the laws are followed to the letter..................jmho
  3. I had been hearing rumors it was coming to Gallatin and now glad to hear it for sure. They said that one of the deciding factors was that once hwy 109 is completed it will give the shippers greater access to all major interstates going in all directions. I for one will be thrilled when the orange barrels are gone from 109 bu will hate to see all the semi truck traffic it will bring taking shortcuts that by pass Nashville...............jmho
  4. Well, I watched it all and my conclusion to it was he acted somewhat mundane in all but the part about the Republicans and health care. He got a little loud about that but other wise he kind of acted like he didn't want to upset any ones apple carts. I listened to the reporters after it ended and they pretty much said that all of the plans for Obama and his executive orders sounded like he could do a lot more than he can actually do with them and said for the most part they are very limited in all reality.  His touch about guns and gun control was very limited and as far as executive orders doing anything about that were slim to none. He acted like he tried to stay pretty much away from gun talks. In all, I think he was being careful about what he really wanted to say because of mid-term elections. I also thought the reporters did mention a couple times that there is a very good chance the Republicans will take the Senate in mid terms. That comment came up a few times as they talked. I hope they are right but I will not be holding my breath waiting to see. I also noticed that the standing ovations were shorter than normal from both sides of the isle except for the Sergeant near the end and I think Obama has lost a lot of respect from even many of his own party. His ratings are beginning to take their toll I think . I also heard the reporters discuss the fact about Hillary doing so speaking for the mid-terms to help the Democrats that are running and Bob Sheiffer   said that quite a few of those running have asked her NOT to come and speak for them. Maybe they have seen that her ratings are also dropping......................jmho
  5.   Wish I could like this post 100 times. That young man deserved every second of that standing ovation. I'm just sorry he was being used by a President that in all reality hates our Military for the most part and has proven it to many times.............jmho
  6. If you are still having issues with it let me know in PM. My son has a scanner that can read it.
  7. JMHO here but I have more respect for Snowden than I do for her. I think Snowden wanted the American people to know what our Government was doing to the American people and Feinstein doesn't want us to know anything they are doing to us. I don't think he is a spy. I think he is a whistle blower and our Government would love to see him dead and all of his information destroyed............jmho
  8.   well I am 66 years old and I can remember doing a lot of small game hunting about anywhere we wanted to hunt but my Uncles and their friends that wanted to hunt deer had to go to Wisconsin to deer hunt because there was not a season for it in upper Illinois they could hunt deer in. It did say in one article that a limited deer season was opened in 1957 but it didn't say in what areas of the state except for Cook county and a few counties that surrounded it were off limits. I lived in cook county barely. I could walk about 2 miles down the road I lived on and would be in Will County. The home I use to live in and grew up in is now gone along with every other house on that road and the entire area has become a wildlife refuge and is part of the Black Partridge Forest now. The area I lived in was mostly wetlands and the duck hunting was wonderful back then............... :woohoo: :woohoo:
  9. I make a sausage casserole very similar to that and it is great.        2lbs breakfast sausage cooked 1 can creamed corn 1 lb grated Cheddar cheese make up a batch of cornbread like you would normally do if making a pan of corn bread. In a 13x2 cake pan spray with Pam or coat with light cooking oil and add a small layer of corn bread batter, then pour creamed corn from can spreading it across first layer of bread coating, add another layer of bread batter. Then spread out sausage around over second layer of bread batter and pour more batter over sausage and then spread grated cheese over bread batter layer and then top with remaining batter to cover cheese. Bake in oven at 350 degrees until top layer of bread is golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool at room temps for about 3 hours and serve like a Lasagna casserole in slices. Makes a great meal........................jmho
  10. I stand corrected on the dates and it did have a limited deer season beginning back in 1957 after being closed across the state for 50 years. Cook County did not allow it till 1991. But they did band it for those 50 years statewide. I grew up hunting in Illinois and I know that we were not allow to kill deer in Cook County, Will county and Dupage Counties which was the area I lived in. Maybe farther south they had seasons but none around where I lived. It may have just been selected counties and I will do more research on it.   Deer Hunting  Illinois has gained world renown for our deer population - and particularly for our big bucks. Illinois’ modern firearm deer season began in 1957, after being closed for more than 50 years, and white-tail herd growth and hunting opportunities have expanded ever since.
  11. I'm also a Salsa lover but never found any I really liked until I was at Sams Warehouse store doing some shopping and ran across a salsa I had not seen before. It comes in 47 oz bottles and I get the medium because the hot will blister your mouth but this stuff is "KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF" good stuff. It is not at all sweet. last time I went back I bought 5 jars of it. The brand is   "On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina" It's all natural and everyone that has tried it that stops in says it is killer good for sure. If you just want to make your own I understand but if your just looking for some great salsa this will fill the bill I bet....................jmho
  12. Back many years ago they use to allow you to hunt wild hogs in management areas like Catoosa Wildlife areas but I don't think they have any hunts any more. I know another story about a state that made a similar mistake but it was with Deer. Evidently the Governor of Illinois in 1948 thought like PETA and he outlawed the hunting of deer in Illinois till further notice. Well over the years all the Governors followed suit. Well even though deer don't populate like hogs to do reproduce and they did so very proudly all across the state of Illinois till 1991. Even though the farmers complained to the Governors that they were losing a 1/3 of their crops or more to the deer it fell on deaf ears. People in big towns and small cities were complaining because the deer were eating their shrubs around their houses that also fell on deaf ears. In 1991 while a Jumbo 747 was on final approach for landing at O'Hare Airport a herd of about 500 + deer strolled out onto the runway and in a panic the pilots were able to climb back in the air causing air traffic controllers in panic mode because the skies where full over Chicago and they went on full alert and all planes had to take evasive action to prevent mid air crashes. They sent a crew out on the runway to chase the deer off but they were so use to being around humans it took the a long time and flights had to be diverted to Midway airport in Chicago. The mayor Of Chicago contacted the Governor about the issue and a plan was drawn up for the DNR to trap the deer and move them out to the farm lands in middle and southern Illinois. When the farmers heard about their plans they went crazy. They told the Governor that if they began trucking deer south from Chicago they would start shooting the deer as fast as possible and maybe in the truck drivers bringing the deer down there. The Governor said that it would be dealt with in another way and professional hunters were brought in and told to kill the deer and Neuhoff (spelling) Packing Company in Chicago would be paid to process the meat and it would be given to the Orphanages and homeless shelters and soup kitchens all across Chicago. When the Mayor asked the hunters how much of a problem he had they said the entire city is infested with deer and at almost epidemic proportion. The mayor of Chicago and all towns and small cities in Illinois filed a petition that the state of Illinois open a deer season and allow hunters to hunt them. It passed on first reading and the DNR made a seasonal schedule that began at the beginning of the following month which was September and ran through February for the first year with a no sex no limit rule for the first year. Bow, shotgun slug and muzzle loaders were all legal but no High Power rifles. a buddy of mine and his tow sons killed 88 deer the first season as he and his family own a large farm in Streator Illinois. They were feeding the entire small town deer meat.  Another thing the seasons helped was the auto insurance industry and policy holders because as the deer populations began to fall so did the auto/deer accidents and peoples insurance began to get lower as the accidents declined. It took about 10 years to get the deer population in check. About the middle of the second year the Governor was concerned with all the dead deer carcasses laying beside highways all over the state may cause disease so he began contracting people to clean up the highways and came up with another plan to continue feeding the orphanages and other charities so a plan was put in place to help the auto owner who's cars were damaged by a deer. If immediately after accident that person called a number they had listed a processor would immediately collect the deer and process it before the meat spoiled that state would pay that persons deductible charges on their insurance for the repairs to their vehicle. That was in place for the 1st 10 years of the deer season but don't know if it is still in effect as I lost my friend to cancer so have not learned much more but I think his sons are still doing it. The state paid them to pick up the deer, process it and if they could not deliver it because at that time it was not needed  they were paid to keep the meat in coolers and or freezers. I went up to visit him back in 1993 and at that time he had 10 large Chest type freezers in his processing area. I know this kind of a long read but it all comes back to the issue with the hogs. If they don't open up a season on them in Tennessee the situation with the Hogs will be much worse much quicker...............jmho
  13. Didn't see any bars on windows but all the cases are full of new guns again with a new type of glass put in the cases that is suppose to not be able to shatter even with a hammer and they do have chains on the guns and padlocks chaining them to the case with the chains. I think it might slow the thieves down but won't be enough to stop them unless they are going to try the under 5 minute deal again. I don't think they could do a smash and grab again in same amount of time unless they brought bolt cutters next time and if they are as good as I think they are and they plan it they will have bolt cutters................jmho
  14. The only way I could shoot a family member would be in self defense of myself, other family members present or innocent people in danger..........jmho
  15. I was out and about running errands today and stopped in at N Range and talked to the guys for a while. They said it was a pretty well planned hit. Didn't take any wheel guns at all. Just semi's. They were good at what they did because they got hit at  1AM and at 1AM there was a squad car parked in the empty lot directly across from their store. A call came in to police that there were shots fired in parking lot at Rivergate Mall and that squad car was one of them that responded to the call. At  1:10Am the call went out that the alarm at N Range was going off and that police officer and another car raced back to the store and the hit was over and no one was in site. Also there was no shots fired in the Rivergate Mall Parking lot. That call was a bogus call made to draw the officer away from the store long enough for an in and out smash and grab hit. Evidently they had been in the store and had every gun located they planned to steal so when they went in they could be in and out in less the 5 minutes. Sounds like professional hit huh?...................jmho   They did their homework which most smash and grab thieves don't do...................jmho
  16. Just in case I don't show up for a couple days don't want ya'll to worry. I just had an electrician the future new landlords sent here to change out a few plugs and before I couldget things shut down he strated throwing breakers in panel and he blew my main computer and it will not power up now. Thank God this old back up was not turned on so I am writing on it at present and will take my main tower in for repairs tomorrow. I told the idiot what he did and all he said was "sorry" and walked out the door. I'm sorry too because I will be sending the new owners a bill for their electricians stupidity when my computer is repaired. I had a few buddys over here when he did it so have witnesses. So just in case someone wonders where I am at that will be at the computer shop getting repairs................    .
  17. ok, then if we are going to begin defining things as weapons. There would be an encyclopedia as thick as the New York Phone Book. Since just an example, if a carpenter is working on a job and that job is posted no weapons and there are records of hundreds of people being killed with hammers and he has a hammer hanging out of his tool belt then technically and legally he could be arrested? People have been killed with pipe wrenches so if a pipe breaks in a posted no weapons Building and the plummer needs a pipe wrench to complete his repair he is breaking the law by taking the pipe wrench into that posted building. The list of know weapons that have been used to kill people is unlimited. Lamps, vases, Iron Skillets, ropes, scarfs, rocks and so many more have been used as weapons to kill people. I know a guy that was killed with a kitchen toaster tossed into the bath tube he was taking a bath in by a mad girlfriend. Where is the line drawn as what is actually a weapon???????............jmh?
  18. If I were the manager at Walmart you can bet I would make some folks mad real quick. I would go back when the ammo went out and when the guys got up out of the chairs to get the ammo they would also be charged for the chair and I would send it home with them. You sit in it over 30 seconds you bought it. I think that might send them a message that they can either stand or by a new chair every time they bought ammo.................jmho
  19. If Obama or the Feds are the reason for the 22lr shortage it would be because they know almost every house in America has some type of 22 caliber gun in their home if they own a gun period so that would be the ammo they would most want to make hard to find is just my guess............jmho
  20. Thanks folks and it was a nice quiet one with just me and the House Queen Kasey. Had a peaceful relaxing day without any one showing up and pestering me.............
  21. Gosh, It has been so long since I have been in a mall I didn't know they were posted. Now I did go to Opry Mills a few times back years ago but went to BPS and no where else but had I decided to go any place else Sorry but I would have went armed. I don't print ever and if I am going to an area that I really need to go I carry. better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6...............jmho
  22. If I were you I would put my house on the market now and begin talking to real estate folks down here cause those New yorkers ain't gonna get rid of those libs they got in office unless they more even worse ones in.............jmho
  23.  Take my word for this. You have not missed anything and if you really want to drive a real sports car go  drive one of the new Corvettes. They are all a Lamborghini is and more...............jmho
  24. I don't know but something tells me that this guys priorities are not even close to where they might should be but that is.............jmho
  25. I think the main fear of the pirates in real life is many of them have RPG's and other shoulder style missile launchers and that is what fears most big ship captains more then the boarding the ship but rather sinking it if they refuse to be boarded.....................jmho As far as the three shots from the Seals. Those that were there said it was so close it actually sounded like only one shot was fired. Now that is about as good as it gets..................jmho
