MO Cop to open-carry chicks: "Show me your papers!"
bersaguy replied to daddyo's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It's like everything else the news posts these days TMF. Good news is not news so why post it or print it? Bad news is the only new worthy of writing today according to the press. I remember a song that was out years ago that said "It's good to hear some good news today"..........jmho -
MO Cop to open-carry chicks: "Show me your papers!"
bersaguy replied to daddyo's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
For one, that is why I don't carry open. I don't go fishing for a confrontation or go out to show off I have a gun. I have been pulled over several times by LEO's while driving for what I would consider bogus stops here in my town back when I first got my carry permit. Things like I didn't see your seat belt and of course I was asked if I was armed due to the fact that it tells the police by your license plate to you possess a carry permit. I guess they ask hoping they will catch me packing and not have my permit with me. All of that took place for about the first year after I got my permit but now all the police do is wave and I wave back as we pass each other on the road. I think all in all the girls should have checked out what the laws are in MO. before going into the state because each states laws read differently and if your going to visit a neighboring state check their carry laws first. If they have a carry law but it is conceal only then you either don't carry or you carry concealed...............jmho. -
Ok , I had a buddy come by that is a swat officer here in gallatin. He has read every one of the posts plus read the articles posted with links. He said they had somewhat of a similar issue about a year ago when an 82 year old man barricaded himself in his home because his family wanted to move him from his home of 55 years into a nursing home. Not because he could not care for himself and he had 24 /7 paid sitters paid buy his insurance to come in and do for him. One day when the family arrived to move him from his home to the nursing home he showed them his gun and told him he was not going. They called the police and told them he threatened them with a gun. My buddies Swat team was called out along with a negotiator. The swat team got eyes in the house and saw the old man was armed with a 38 pistol and said he was not leaving his home. He actually fired off two rounds into the floor to get their attention that he would shoot. In the end the swat team got him to fire off his last 4 rounds by making noises under the floor which after that they made a quick entry into the house and room and took control of the issue with out killing the old gentleman. They brought him out with out even putting him in cuff's and took him to the police station. After an investigation it was exposed that the only reason the family wanted him placed in a nursing home was a large offer had been made on the old man's home and property and he turned it down and his two sons were do to get the house when he vacated it. The man was evaluated by a doctor and the doctor said that the old gentleman was not crazy and his health was good for his age and with the aid of the sitters he should have been able to remain in his home indefinitely or until his health worsened. Now after it was all said and done, because the old gentleman actually never pointed the gun at anyone including his two sons but just showed it to them and he never fired directly at any of the police officers or swat team the judge made a decision to dismiss all of the charges that had been made and sent the old man back home without his gun and he is still living in his home with his 24/7 sitters. Now with that said I realize that all cases are different but my buddy said that not being there it was hard for him to make a totally accurate decision but he said that someone in the upper level must have had plans and didn't have time to do his job and keep his plans and gave orders that should not have been given and he left it there..............

Are them many folks here from the 6th district
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well all in all I do think she has the people at heart when she is working in Washington. I have also attending a few of her town hall meetings and asked her some pretty tough questions and she gave a deliberate and direct answer to them all and nothing was negative about them. -
See my previous post.............

Have not checked back but will here directly. Thanks for the links..............

That one is easy to answer. The Swat Training for police departments began right after those two bank robbers in I think it was Miami back in the late 70's early 80's gave the FBI a royal butt kicking in that shoot out that lasted for over an hour and several FBI agents were killed and wounded because the FBI and local police were totally out gunned and finally the police prevailed. The FBI still uses that film in their training program to this day

I think in the second article I read that the woman came to move him to his new home and he was excited about it and then when she came back he had locked himself in his bed room. His daughter talked him into letting her in and she spoke with him and pointed the gun at her and accused her of breaking in his home yet he did not shoot her. To me that sounds very much like a stage of dementia that came and went. Being excited about moving one minute and refusing to go a short time later. I wonder what the daughter may have done to him between the time the woman spoke with him about moving and then returning to get him?..................Something just does not add up except maybe dementia...........jmho

I think that the old gentleman deserved as much consideration and any other human being and I have see police departments wait a lot longer for a negotiator to work with someone than they gave him. .............jmho

I can agree with most of your argument except the Girl scout selling cookies because a girl scout would not have been in his house knocking on his bedroom door and most times when a neighbor comes over to check on a person they will make themselves know that they are coming in or announce they are there. I know because my neighbors check on me from time to time if they don't seem me out side at least once a day and they know I am most always armed so they will call or knock and say their name out loud to let me know who is knocking. All in all I honestly think the Old gentleman really got what he wanted and that was peace and I feel bad for the officer for what he will go through.

I have mixed feeling about this whole issue. It was not like the police did not know this man. They had spent time with a few weeks earlier. They knew most everything about him. If he had a gun stolen a short time before and he told the police then that they would have to be shoot him or put him in jail should have given them an indication he had another gun. Now fact that he fired at police is true but if he really wanted to kill someone why didn't he kill that woman he accused of breaking into is home and hour earlier. Now you have a man 107 years old and you have gassed him in his bedroom. I'm sure with a short time the gas would have put him down or made it easy to enter and over power him. I don't know how many folks here have ever been in close quarters with tear gas but take my word for it. You never want to experience it. Been there and done that and nothing about it is fun............jmho but I think they could have waited him out.

Cooper has always been a follower and never a leader and is the type that will agree with who ever has the power at that time. I have never had any respect for him as a politician but as a person he is a very nice guy. His problem is in politics he is to nice and many times to the wrong people...........jmho

Colorado Vote Has National Implications
bersaguy replied to Moped's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You can bet it has got a lot of folks in Washington thinking about their futures and how much clout they will get from their party verses how much voters will have on election day. The only thing is those were state Senators that got recalled. What we need is that kind of push at the Federal level. The Washington DC Congressman and Senators are the one that pressure really needs to be applied to. You can bet it got them thinking though and that is a good step in the right direction...........jmho -
My dog Kasey taught me how to do a lot of those tricks but I'm to old to do them now. All I am smart enough to do now is cook her meals, Make sure her water bowls are all full and take her for rides in the jeep................... :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:

Are them many folks here from the 6th district
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well, reason I was asking is I am in 6th district and I know Diane and I have spoke with her on several occasions on all kinds of issues and she has been plain spoken on many of them in Washington and every bill she has presented to the House I have read and every one of them are designed to help the people in this country. She has one in front of them right not in relation to what the Dumbocrats did on 4th of July with the health care plan. I am going to post a link to what she has proposed against what they did and would like your views on it. This was one she sent me in email. Hope the link works. https://iqconnect.lmhostediq.com/iqextranet/view_newsletter.aspx?id=2119139&c=TN06DB -
I am right with you on the flip phone prag. I have been using this one for about 7 years now and it has a camera in it but I never had that part of my service activated plus it does not work if phone is closed. A phone is suppose to be a tool that allows a person to make call, receive calls, take voice messages and have a phone book of frequently called numbers. If I want to take a picture I have a digital camera for that purpose. If i want to know how much money I have in my bank account I get on my desk top computer which by the way does not have a camera attached to it and I look at my bank account information or if I am out I will stop by an atm and check it there. People without their own knowledge in most cases have made their lives open books for hackers and the Feds. My son in law has one of them do it all phones and it has about 25 different ring tones and he can tell who is calling by which tones it plays. I make him turn the darn thing off when we go fishing in my boat. He said what if your daughter tries to call me I said if she knows your with me then she will call me if you don't answer.............. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Lamar's recent advertisement on obamacare
bersaguy replied to Sam1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think 6.8 Ar has a few good points. It is the insurance companies not even questioning what hospitals and doctors are charging them for their services but they just pay the bills and keep raising insurance rates to keep making money. If they would challenge the ridiculous prices that are being charged that might have an effect on how much the Medical Industry charges for services. As long and the doctors and hospitals can charge what ever they want and get paid for it they will continue to do it...........jmho -
I read up on some of that and they found out that it didn't work. When they killed the person their pupils became fixed and dilated and in order for the scanner to work it uses a light to read the pupil & retina and the pupil adjusts to the light. The fixed pupil that does not react to the light will not unlock the door or turn off the alarm system. You are right about how cold blooded people are today though for sure.

I like Rand Paul and I think he is one of our governments most strong conservatives and he is for the people very strongly. I wonder if he will run in 2016. If he does he will get my vote for President..........jmho -
